Yes it does, but it goes through a screening process. -
Game Developers Choice Awards to be hosted by Tim Schafer?

Warning: the cheap passes are lame. The Friday student pass or the Expo pass don't include access to 90% of the stuff. Those are only worth it if you happen to live in the area and want to briefly check out the expo and not do any of the other things. The fun really starts at Classic Pass ($1450). The main ways to get into GDC are: You are a game industry professional and your company pays you to go. You are a conference speaker (you need to pitch a session and get it approved). You are a member of the press and are covering the show. You are rich. You are Tim Schafer. -
Just get a Mac. It's really easy to type shifty eyes on them. ¬¬

On a more positive note I've noticed that the blog http://gigagamez.com/ will occasionally do good news Q&As. I also really like the sound clips of phone calls GameSpot puts in their news these days. Journalism ftw.

Awesome. That's Ancel's studio by the way.

Does that actually work well though? Everything in MacOS is geared towards running seamlessly on a few specific systems. Although another laptop may also have an Intel processor, there's a billion things that are still different about it that could end up causing problems. Did you try this yourself?

This weekend I decided, kind of on a whim, to start a personal games blog. I felt like trying something new, and also it's a nice way to consolidate the things I do / will do in the future. Anyway, check it out: http://www.gameslol.com/ (I'll keep posting at Thumb too!)

I have the Captain Planet tune as my ringtone. That is all.

Sometimes when I'm concentrating on reading a book or article and I have a track jacket on with a zipper I put the slider between my teeth and just keep zipping up and down because I like the sound of it and also the vibration that goes through my teeth. I didn't think I would post something here, but I was just doing the above while reading a blog, with Idle Forums open in another window.

Haven't checked out the above links yet but I'm reminded of a TEDtalk in which a young researcher had some pretty crazy and interesting ideas on what cancer is and how it can be cured. http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalksplayer.cfm?key=e_vertes Also there's an AMAZING talk there somewhere about how web spiders are used to crawl for signs of epidemics (e.g. in news reports all over the world) and apparently that's how SARS was first detected, way before the WHO etc. did.

Weird. I don't know what's going on. Ysbreker said he'd posted today as well, but...

Which page of the Doom book should be read in the podcast?

Pffft clearly elections would be way awesomer if they had never reset the polls since the founding of democracy. -
And that's where I stopped reading.

I want one. Ron Gilbert says it well: "Apple's new iPhone is the closest thing I've seen to the future promised to me by 30 years of reading Science Fiction and wishing I lived on the Enterprise."

1. Phil Harisson is a good kid who hooked up with the wrong crowd. I mean, err, he's probably the only executive at the PS3 camp who I currently respect, so I don't mind he's doing a keynote, and I'm sure it will have a few couple of interesting tidbits. I won't be sitting in the audience, though. 2. That news says pretty much nothing. More games use the Unreal engine than you might think. Much more. Even games that are absolutely nothing like an FPS. It's just a tool.

Hahahaha classic.

Done! Also that Picard gif is amazing.

Whoa the collection with the Nintendo game inspired microgames is really great this time. Sometimes you really think you're in a mini slice of the real Wind Waker or Animal Crossing or Nintendogs or Brain Training.

But that's version control not backup right?
