Someone did that already, fortunately.

I don't buy into the myth that people who post stupid shit on the internet are normal intelligent people in their real lives, as if they're acting like an entirely different person just because they can be anonymous. More likely the internet just allows them to be more like the dickwads they already are, instead of the internet magically transforming them into dickwads. It's a subtle but key difference. I think it works more like this really: Let me put it in a different way: if a dickwad talks in meatspace and there is no one there to hear it, does it still make a sound? I don't know what I just wrote.

It proves that the world is full of idiots, only before they were not bothering anyone because they were watching TV. I see it as positive that these people are now expressing themselves on the internets though. Maybe they'll slowly get better at it. Maybe, now that their idiocy is publicly accessible instead of contained within their own house or neighbourhood, it'll have a chance of being gradually challenged or corrected. Anything that improves literacy and common sense if only by miniscule percentages is a good thing, and I'm hoping that's what comments on the internet are doing.

YouTube is the worst. You might be watching a video of, say, a hamster farting, and then you scroll down to the comments section and inevitably the thread that once started about hamster farts months ago somehow turned into someone calling all liberals blind and ignorant, or claiming that Bush is gay. It's incredible.

Hay dudez, I relaunched AdventureGamers.com today. Have a look: http://www.adventuregamers.com/ I know a lot of you dig LucasArts style adventures so let me say there'll be a Hal Barwood interview soon (the designer of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) as well as a preview of A Vampyre Story (by LucasArts veterans who worked on The Curse of Monkey Island, amongst other games).

Thanks guys! Galleries were borked for a few hours, they work again now. Also the meter of hype just got updated. Read about it here: http://www.adventuregamers.com/blogitem.php?id=9

Wait, wait, wait. I thought net neutrality is what the GOOD GUYS want? Or is this one of those things that follows the reverse logic naming conventions established during the Bush administration? Someone post the Daily Show explanation of net neutrality if you know where to find it. I remember it owning everything.

Brütal Legend is a good title. Generic enough (Legend) to satisfy marketers, but interesting enough (Brütal) to satisfy... uhh, me. Also this thread will be hilarious to read back after DF's game is actually announced.

Ah, awesome. I'm curious to see what Ikuruga is all about (never played).

This rules so much. I can't wait. Quite appropriately I'm wearing my Every Extend Extra tshirt today for the first time since I got it from Mizuguchi. Not that EEE is in the same league as Rez, but there was probably some invisible force guiding my hand to the tshirt this morning. Maybe.

Oh man. Has anyone seen it? By which I mean the documentary about obsessive Donkey Kong players? It's hilarious and amazing. Go see it.

What, you never cry when you can't get a score of 1 million? Be honest now.

Yeah not playing back to back with Harry Potter or anything.

The trailer doesn't do the movie justice at all. Let me put it this way: if you enjoyed The Office, you will love King of Kong. Because it doesn't have just one David Brent, but like ... three David Brents. As well as at least three Schrutes. And also one Tim/Jim, except he's an obsessive-compulsive Donkey Kong player who is determined to break through Billy Mitchells "little empire". Oh man it's so hilarious. Billy Mitchell is like the head David Brent. At one point I think he compared having an opinion about a controversial Donkey Kong score to having an opinion about abortion. Basically, you have to go see it. Yes, it's about video game highscores and a bunch of nerds caught up in their own world, but it's about so much more. It's really (unintentionally) funny, but there's also a serious theme running through it that's really good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_of_Kong:_A_Fistful_of_Quarters

Holy crap, me too! Several dusty old braincells just popped like a zit upon visiting that page. Wow, Spider Man. I remember thinking the spiderweb shooting ability was really cool back then.

You rule. Also, here's a sad fact: I can recite almost the entire Garak monologue from the end of that episode.

Oh man, I was actually hoping Zero Punctuation was the name of a game. And then someday they could do a remake of the original called Zero Punctuation Zero. But I'll check those links now.

I played the demo, and I was impressed, but I still don't know what kind of game this really is. I think, in order for it to actually sell, the marketing message may have been focused on the FPS parts. But who knows. I'm going to buy it though. I really like the atmosphere and mise-en-scene (thank you Ken Levine ) and the reviews have all been amazing so far. Also Shack just reviewed it: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/48499

There's not going to be a Leipzig announcement. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/48478 This is probably (by which I mean certainly) related to a magazine exclusive that's coming out soon.

No. ;(;( The latest enemy we saw were the amusingly named robots. "This is just in: we have decided to call these robots 'Hectors'!" Makes you wonder what kind of meetings they have at Earth Defence Force HQ....

I cry.

Will I no longer have to wait 5 minutes for the shop to load? Will browsing the shop no longer feel like browsing the web on a 56k modem? Have they made the interface actually fun to use, like the Mii Channel? :shifty:

I'd rather buy Rock Band with just the guitar (which you can) than buy Guitar Hero III. It looks superior in so many ways.
