I saw this on Friday. Wow what a piece of shit movie.

Without the unexpected deaths or the occasional poorly implemented waggle Zack & Wiki would be an amazing adventure game. It would probably have been one of the better adventures in recent years. And that makes me super sad.

Interesting topic for an article. Funny you should mention A Man Escaped... clearly you have had film class at some point, because there's no other way you would have seen that film. Douchebaggery (or perceived douchebaggery) might be a common trait amongst creative leads who are trying to make something extraordinary. Apparently the BioShock team hates Ken Levine. At GDC someone (was it Ben?) relayed an insider story about Ueda of Team Ico being basically a nazi when it comes to managing his people. I've heard similar things from ex-members of some other 'famous' teams. It's almost like you have to be a little ruthless to make something great. I hope that's not true though.

Yes, it is the best. Saw it in your feed a while ago and I love it. -
Welcome back to the cybercloud.

I have no idea what that is but it looks hilarious. I hope that isn't just some kind of programming blooper reel but is actually how these brontos will walk in-game.

I can see how you might not consider Passage very interesting from a purely gaming point of view. I guess it's very subjective though. I personally thought there's enough game mechanics at play to appreciate it as a game, especially as it's a game that's supposed to last 5 minutes. I especially enjoyed exploring the space, and kind of figuring out that the further south you go the more complex the maze becomes. Also figuring out you get points for taking the girl along, and points for the treasure chests, and points for going east... that kept me involved on a purely gameplay basis for at least a minute or two. BTW it's sad that many people in blog comments have said it isn't a game but "an interactive experience" or "interactive art" (whatever that means). No, it's a game. I was hoping we'd gotten to the point where we could recognize something like this as a game. -
That movie will probably be amazing. Space ship interiors make me sad though (in movies or games or anywhere). I love it when 3D is used for more natural environments. See Ratatouille for the ultimate example.

Just saw Paris je t'Aime (Paris, I Love You). It is essentially a series of short films by 20 different directors from around the world, each set in a different arrondissement in Paris and each dealing with the theme of love in a very different way. It's really nice, check it out.

You rang, sir? I will definitely check it out!

Seamus Blackley is awesome. -
I've been buying domains through 000domains.com forever. I don't know if they're the best or anything as I have little to compare to, but they've always worked for me. Oh yeah. Don't use GoDaddy.

Dude, you need some positivity training. You just have to grab them individually for now. Life's a bitch... (Oh, by the way, I forgot to say they aren't just interviews but also contain lectures.) -
Also known as "Not Yahtzee"!

I have to agree with you Toblix, Braid is looking really cool. I remember seeing the big Braid finale time puzzle of doom (spoilerfest total) back at last year's GDC and getting my mind blown in every possible way. Fortunately I forgot all the specifics so I look forward to experiencing it myself on XBLA. Thanks Wrestlevania. I'm still planning on incorporating a photo or an image into the template somehow. I'm afraid I lost the mosaic pic but I could always take a new one.

http://www.forumwarz.com And here's what Simon Carless had to say about it: http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2008/02/the_waxy_view_why_you_should_c.php Also it's PERFECT for playing at work.

As someone who has gone to GDC on a press pass about four or five times, and someone who is uncertain of an invite next year, I actually think an invite-only policy would be 100% fair. If that's what they need to do to make the conference work for the developers, then that's what they should do. Press are just guests at GDC. Mind you, if I'm not on the invite list next year (if they do switch to invite-only) I'll be super sad, but I'll totally respect it.

"Posted by Simon Carless" ... Confusion.

Yeah SF is pretty frickin' sweet. Someday I will move there. I try to confuse everyone about my age!

It's so sad that evolution has become something you have to "believe" in. So many people also misunderstand the word theory by saying "it's just a theory". There was an article recently in Wired in which someone suggested we all start calling it the The Law of Evolution, just like The Law of Gravity. That seems like a really good idea.

I know exactly what I'd do with that kind of money. When I'm rich (and after I've spent a lot of money on more useful things, or charity, or investments), I'm going to build myself a really cool house. Not a house that's super huge or impressive-looking, one that's actually of moderate size but full of cool stuff. I want underground tunnels, secret compartiments, a tower perhaps, no symmetry, and all sorts of areas that people could actually use to chill out or do stuff. I want a garden on the roof and a greenhouse built into the top floor. I want an inner courtyard patio that connects right into the living room. I want an attic with multiple levels connected by stairs or ladders. And none of that Richard Garriot fantasy themepark nonsense, mind you. I'm thinking of an actual authentic house. Also, when you go to the toilet I want jazz music to start playing. I was actually once in a student house where someone had rigged up the door to trigger a radio set to Jazz FM so maybe I should just get that done now and worry about the house later.
