  1. Free Range FTW!

I was just reminded of this movie. It's amazing but also holy shit: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0765849/ (It's German but has no dialog.) Metallus, those are excellent maps. It's even more true if we put Brighton and London together and call it the London Area or something. I wonder if the two thumb clusters will cross-pollinate. Maybe I'll go live in SF in a couple of years.
  2. Once I played GTA: Vice City for several hours and then immediately afterwards went to my driving lessons. DON'T DO THIS. I had to focus VERY HARD on the fact that this was no longer GTA, and even then I was super overconfident and caused my teacher to shit bricks at least once. Video games. Not affecting life. This other time I played lots of Pizza Tycoon and then over the next couple of days I randomly started a pizza restaurant, invented several new pizzas that were unheard of before (and were particularly popular amongst white collar workers for some reason?) and then sold the restaurant at great profit. Wait, no, that didn't happen.
  3. Full Throttle Movie

Playing it is better (there's a few bits in the fan movie that won't make sense otherwise), and it shouldn't take you too long. It's a short game.

  5. Next² Generation Consoles

Hahaha oh man. What the fuck toblix. Have you been studying console fanboys like some kind of online anthropologist? It's far too realistic for me to handle.
  6. You can use scores if you want to!
  7. Free Range FTW!

Screenwipe is great. How did you create that video anchor link, for lack of a better term?
  8. Free Range FTW!

Oh to hell with this, I'm switching to a diet of mushrooms, seaweed and algae paste. Bon apetit!
  9. Free Range FTW!

Oooooh so that's what it's for. When I moved to the UK I was surprised to see so many products labeled "organic". They don't do that in Holland. Does it simply mean "not genetically modified" (because that's been a bigger controversy in the UK as far as I'm aware)? I'd like to get food from local shops or farmer's markets but I'm too lazy, so it's supermarket for me. If I lived in the US though I would definitely make more of an effort. Corporate lobbies are out of control there and regulation is often a joke. Not saying I'd be some kind of shifty paranoid hippie about it, I mean no one died from a little high fructose corn syrup, just saying that I'd make some general consumer/lifestyle adjustments in the interest of health. BTW I am so divorced from nature that I have no idea when most vegetables are in season or not.
  10. Free Range FTW!

Whoa, activism. I buy only free range eggs. I also: - Eat less meat (Grew up eating meat at dinner 7 days a week. Now eat meat 4-5 days a week. Could easily be a bit less still.) - Mostly eat poultry meat. Pork distant second, then beef. - Look for nearest country of origin when buying vegetables in the supermarket. (Rarely use meat when I cook myself, but if I did would probably look for the label there also.) I do this mostly for personal health or environmental reasons, and also to compensate for the waste incinerator I have in my kitchen. To be honest I don't think much about the poor animals when making purchasing decisions, but if they get to spend more time flapping their wings around and shitting in more than one place before they're murdered, that's really cool and worth supporting.
  11. Five BioShock sequels

The full quote: What a shame. He starts off so well, sounding almost like he knows what he's talking about. But... Star Wars? Really?
  12. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hey everyone! Horticulture Tycoon: oh man, I'm bummed to hear that actually. I think I was overwhelmed by the amount of applications at the time and wasn't very well organized. It's great you know us from pre-podcast days. Your nickname is win, by the way. I would play that.
  13. New people: Read this, say hi.

Haha Remo. Sounding potentially snarky there. Good thing people know you from the podcast.
  14. New people: Read this, say hi.

I thought hotscooping was the act of pre-assigning scoops for specific tasks, so they can immediately perform them without you having to first open your scoop drawer and find the right one. Like, in my freezer I've got a scoop hotscooped to chocolate icecream?
  15. What... The... Fuck...???

Wow what the fuck. Those posters.
  16. Next² Generation Consoles

I love that EVE has an API. That graph is 100% on the mark based on my observations of friends who were high-level EVE players.
  17. Next² Generation Consoles

My nickname is Domaaco. I have no idea where I'm based, or what I should do next, or how I can find a charge for my lazors which aren't working anymore. EVE is intimidating.
  18. Next² Generation Consoles

They've said that all of their consoles were designed for a 10 year cycle. That said, I do think the PS3 might have a longer time being the newest Playstation console than PS2 did. Ooh, what's your nickname in EVE? I'm doing the trial right now.
  19. Next² Generation Consoles

I believe that, beyond the occasional acknowledgment that somewhere deep in the bowels of their company work is underway on the next-next-gen, you won't hear much about it this year. None of the platform holders are in a rush. Only MS might want to move to next-next-gen in a year or two if hardware failures continue to plague them, but if they can manage to reasonably control those they'll want to stay exclusively focused on Xbox 360 for another while. The gaming landscape is changing and the historical platform release cycles might not apply anymore. For the foreseeable future I expect all platform holders to focus on cutting production costs while pushing more online stuff or maybe some new peripherals. Or maybe introducing updated versions of existing hardware (e.g. Xbox 360 but with different form factor or design and better cooling etc.?). Of course, I'm prepared to and/or but I think I'm right.
  20. At least I now know what to expect if/when I go to GDC this year. I'll be wearing a poop helmet.

  23. I must out-beard Tim Schafer

Jake, your picture shows up as a question mark icon. :( I don't know what your beard looks like
  24. Crowds give you erections? Agoraphilia? Edit: holy shit I googled that and it's an actual thing.
