Hmm that actually sounds really good. Plus 100 is easy number to agree with for some reason. Yeah this is the eternal dilemma where to talk about topic at large, broad definitions have to introduced to make conversations possible which always create friction with cases where the definitions does not work.

Bit tangent but my only contact with Talisman is via Northernlion Live Super Show where they played the game without reading the manual and just made up their own narrative for like 2 hours straight. I like to cherish that memory by not understanding the game lol

I think so? They made some changes to planet formation so now it has more impassable terrain which mitigate the problem of "you are on a sphere so expect attack from everywhere" problem. Edit: looks like I'm barely scrapping by on the memory side! Minimum is 8gb so... time to upgrade I guess since I'm pretty dang impressed even by the tutorial thus far. Better music, better graphics, better performance (minus memory crash, game runs silky smooth!), better mechanics, definitely worth taking another look at I think.

Ok I just gave it a spin for like 20 minutes and so far my impression is way better now that it actually has a tutorial and all that. It doesn't hurt that very first thing you get to control in the tutorial is a titan, which REALLY gives this game kind of a 'The Little Prince' vibe as far as visual goes XD Downside is that it just crashed due to running out of memory (8gb with 3.5gb on gpu)? Kinda odd that the game would crash like that.

kpop... man I can't shake off my bad perception of Korea when it comes to objectification because of its overall strong age-ism and rampant plastic surgeries and the strict culture of beauty that is responsible for such (which also devolves into open discrimination against handicapped). Yeah the new bnet is pretty pooey from user end. Matchmaking is far better than the old ladder for sure, but otherwise the old bnet with its super simple features actually felt more 'alive'. Wonder if part of it is simply because old one automatically dropped you into a chat room? And for a while new custom game thingy was really botched but I can't recall specific details as to why ATM...

Wow that's a very pretty new thumbnail~! I wonder how my memory of this game holds up since I played it before I learned how to speak English I remember stopped playing this game because I got to this mission with Dwarf fort under siege and wow the battle was pretty much unwinnable for me.

@Mangela Lansbury, Yeah ethics of 'sting' operations like that are often dubious but I guess this (the part about police force in general operating under unwritten death threat system) is just where our world view and expectations are very different. @jennegatrron, there is one thing to be put in more dangerous situations in the job because noone wants to help you (which I'm sure comes as part of ostracization(sp?)), then there is "you and your family are in for getting murdered". Again, not saying it never happens. Not saying implicit threats caused by ostracizing isn't there and that life doesn't get lot worse for officers who are willing to speak against another officer, but it's the idea of police force in general operating under death threats that I find baffling. Kinda like what Twig said (where he said kinda like what I said).

There is ostracizing which I get (I mean that kind of exists in any group), but that's a whole another level of difference from "snitch and either you or your family member dies".

Maybe I'm being too naive here, but Henroid could you substantiate the claim that the general police force is operating under this kind of shadowy death threat system to keep everyone in line? Apologies for being frank here but that claim sounds ridiculously corrupt to the point where the accusation itself comes off as a slight to actual systematic injustices that are taking hold. That's some damning stuff. Hard to explain shooting someone in the back and saying that you shot them as a reaction to them pointing a weapon at you (not impossible, as it could be done in sequence, just improbably as heck)

I feel ya, but Gundam 0080 is very... not 'mecha' if that even makes sense? Like you can take out all the mechs in 0080 and replace them with any high tech weaponry and the OVA would work just as well. The mecha aspect of 0080 adds one interesting aspect in that it actually ends up serving as deconstruction of the entire Gundam franchise that I really want to talk about but also don't want to spoil! :x

And mine will forever be "please someone watch Gundam 0080". T_T

Well there are very narrow legal ways to obtain them, and groups that are hardcore like The Oath Keeper probably would try hard enough to get them legally, I assume? Off topic but all this gun talk keeps reminding me how stupid gun laws are in NJ. Still baffling that they banned AK series by the name (so AK branded knives are also illegal cause of guns while SAIGA series rifles aren't...)

After scrapping long ranty posts few times, think I will settle for this expression to convey my mostly mixed feelings. I wish it was as simple as Ninety-Three argues for. Well this chain of event proves that political allegiances are never simple. Sometimes they are your enemies, next day they can be your friends. And it does paint The Oath Keepers as being 'true' to their core vision, which is to well, arm USA civilians. Whether their vision is faulty or not, I think it's ok to appreciate (and to criticize their core values as well~) the irony that they are at least not racially motivated to oppress even though their 'core vision' is often seen as racially charged one, hence the shock value. At least for now. Edit: Also I question the wisdom of arming untrained people with rifles in very tense environment, but still hoping for 'best' of whatever this chain of event could result in. Edit2: correction, if those are legal AR15 they are most likely semi auto as I understand the law as fully automatic ones are really really difficult to gain access to. But maybe they are fully automatic then I'm back to double concerned.

More I think about this less I 'get' this topic. The whole notion of cultural identity and belonging feels really alien to me.

Intro to Sucker Punch makes Guyver 2 look like a masterpiece. Heck, at least Guyver 2 was actually kinda fun. Campy and janky as heck, but fun as in rated R power ranger kind of way.
