Mechanations

This titan of mine is relatively new (I recently switched to PS4 from Xbox One), so I've been running around with whatever armor scraps the game has thrown me. Been relying on Inmost Light, so I'm glad to have another option. And Eternal Warrior's perks do fit my play style a bit better, for exactly the reasons you cited, Jon. Is my understanding of Intellect/Discipline/Strength correct? That higher stats will boost skill recharge up to 100%, but beyond 100%, additional stat points won't confer any benefit? With certain armor combinations, I end up with like 300-something Intellect, say. But the Intellect effect (visible when you hover over the stat value on your character screen) hits 100% well below that. Makes finding the right stat balance at least as important as nifty perks.

I ended up running the Nightfall late last night. Archon Priest + Arc Burn is always a fiasco, but when you add Solar Burn, there's like nothing that won't kill you in two hits. Got a code for Sim City 2000 via GOG. Anyone want it? You'll need a GOG account to redeem it. I'm not going to set a floor because 1) I wouldn't qualify for anything myself, and 2) GOG gave it away pretty freely so I guess I will, too. Edit: Taken. May your arcologies be the good spiral-y kind.

Welcome changes all. I'd taken to using special weapons as much as possible just to clear out some of the syntheses I had stocked up. And I didn't particularly enjoy racing the clock while trying to open chests more than once (though of course I did it anyway). This patch essentially guarantees one PoE big chest a week.

I think it's interesting how Destiny is evolving with House of Wolves. I've spent a lot of time grinding dailies for ascendent materials, public events for various endgame currencies, weeklies for Strange Coins, etc. But post-HoW, a lot of the non-raid methods of getting and improving gear have been outmoded. You can still get ascendent stuff from dailies, but if you're not trying to upgrade older gear, you probably don't need it. Public events just give you planetary resources and glimmer. Cryptarch care packages give you rare engrams instead of legendary. So the game is pushing us toward the Nightfall and weekly strikes, PoE, ToO, and the "pack of wolves" events. Not a complaint, just an observation. This is my first real experience with a "live game". I don't know if it's valid to talk about Destiny in relation to games like WoW, but I do wonder if we'll eventually be playing something completely different than what first launched, even as we kill the Divisive Mind for the 5,000th time.

A K/D ratio of 1 is pretty good for me. I only dip into PvP when I need to, for an exotic weapon bounty or something. But now I want that ToO Warlock helm, so.... So happy to see more Thumbs getting back into Destiny. I added my info to the ID Exchange Google Doc. I'd be happy to join in some raids or PoE runs, or even Trials if your standards are low.

1) This doesn't even sound like the same game I've been playing (I'm level 25, still mostly doing vanilla strikes and solo patrols). 2) You can stop in the middle of the raid? How does that work? I did a weekly heroic strike with a pal the other day, and after our third dropped out, we had a rough time taking down the archon on Venus. Took us a couple hours. I had to take a break at one point to eat dinner and be acknowledge my wife's existence, so it was up to my pal to keep our server connection up. Made me wish we could save and come back.

Got my first bit of legendary gear last night: the FWC Astrolord greaves, via a blue engram dropped by a nameless vandal or dreg in that part of the cosmodrome where the walker public event happens. After reading so much about legendary engrams decoding into, like, piles of helium coils, I felt like I'd cheated someone. Also, those greaves clashed with my accidental color scheme somethin' fierce. Had to apply a shader to keep my dinner down. Anyway, hi.

Howdy. I'm relatively new to Thumbs-land: I've been listening since 167ish and have been working my way gradually backward. I don't usually do much forum stuff, but after seeing Danielle repeatedly say nice things on Twitter about the community, I decided to give a shot.
