  1. I think I quit Deus Ex again.. Damn it.

Maybe ill go back... Probably not.

WHY DON'T I LIKE THIS GAME?

I think its theme just doesn't work with me. Like "Augmentation and morals and what is it being human anyway?" plus the near future scifi thing doesnt do anything for me. I haven't got far into it though so I don't think I have any real criticism beyond my complete disinterest in it.

Also was really put off by the first boss fight. I was playing hardest as ghostly as I could so I was completely unprepared for combat. Like I didn't know how to throw a grenade I was that green when that section came around.

  2. God the reddit community is shocking.. I keep diving into these pits of bigotry trying to find an angle to argue.. But I know it won't convince anyone. I would probably be better off not going there at all.

It's like an ant farm of humanity's worst tendencies, people adamant that they argue for justified reasons when really their driven by a complexe mash up of hate and bigotry. Ugh I can see myself in it aswell which is the worst part.. Knowing we are all like this under the right circumstance. Its really disheartening.

  3. I've been to that exhibit, the size of the models had an impact on me I wouldn't have expected. The small details of each model being so intense sort of heightened the experience. Also did you look at that weird x-ray bullet damage physics simulator?

  4. Yeah unemployed haha. When I get work things might change.

Today's one is up, no good though. Crappy, very short and no variation. It's hard putting it up where other people can hear it.. I'm used to showing very little of what I make. I spent too long trying to get something I was feeling and came away with very little. Still, im glad I got it done..

  5. Im going to do some daily tunes until I cant. Ill spend some amount of time every day writing a tune and putting it up.

I think it will be useful for a few things I want to improve on but never get to work on because of my usually long work cycle.

    Todays.. https://soundcloud.com/daily-challenge/rain-11-7-15

Went ok, I was trying to start with a theme or feeling. Looking outside at the rain and I was feeling kinda down so I started with that in the ambient parts and worked in heavier bits. Obviously a mess though given the time spent on it. Don't particularly like the vocal chop stuff but whatever.

Not sure if i'll update here everyday, it might get a bit spammy. We'll see.

  6. Random video game design thought.

Do any devs ever throw project files to one another for unique spins on their games?

I understand this might not be feasible for any full time studio but has this happened with small time indie devs? It seems like its becoming more and more possible with people working on smaller projects in popular engines like unity or unreal.

  7. I just finished it. Heres what I think.

The alibi thing of being in glasgow would mean there has to be two right? I presume that there is indeed hospital records of eves(officially hannahs) visit.

That said the tapping code kind of gets at the spit personality possibility. but maybe that was something you were supposed to think midway through the investigation until you realize there are in fact two people.

In either case I think it makes sense that Hannah was the murderous twin/personality. She was the one who had held Eve's head underwater and such.

Also what did everyone think of the acting?

I've seen quite a bit of praise for the acting but personally I thought it was terrible. It reminded me of a midday soap opera. It might be on purpose, shes supposed to be acting for the first interviews right? The thing is though I really have no idea what good acting is so I wouldn't say i'm qualified to judge.

  8. The whole free speech say what you want argument is such bullshit. If you remove a moderatoring authority (so called "Censorship") you just open a power vacume that quickly gets filled with the loudest members of the comunity. Its like replacing a police officer with a mob who will throw stones at anyone who dissagrees with them.

Places on the internet that purport to be the most free are actuallly the most oppressed. Go to one 4chans "we can say anything" threads and dissagree with the community. You will get abused intensly.. They will try and force you down.

On a lesser scale you see the same thing on reddit with its voting system. If I posted this exact post in some sections of reddit I think I would prove my point as I would get down voted to hell as the comunity decides I have wronged them.

Its funny. These places still practice censorship, its just harder to see because it comes from the community rather than a single authority.

Reddits a huge place, its hard to make any generalizations given the huge varience from subreddit to subreddit. I'm glad they are trying to fix these problems, I hope it works.

  9. http://www.naturalnews.com/

Just don't spend too long there.

ohhh man. I was exusted after half the front page.

Theres a whole search system including a section where you can find out about "harmful" medical treatments.

    http://science.naturalnews.com/index-Harmful_Therapies.html

Its pretty gross, the site says its powered by google which implies the results are going to be global. But the results are all completely rigged.

I searched homeopathy and was linked to studies exlusively pro homeopathy.  "by Faculty of Homeopathy"  Sureeee.

I can see how people are missled so easily by this place, its all the presentation of a well put together Scientific website but with none of the actual science.

  10. I like the idea of modders being able to dedicate more time to making cool stuff so I think this is good.

That said I clicked through the valve article and looked at the skyrim mods and just saw a ton of swords/weapons selling for $1.75 each which to me is sooo stupid. Its like shitty aesthetic hat DLC, which I have never been interested in.

I hope the mod community doesn't devolve into a strange rat race to make weapons they can sell for way too much. I mean I just can't imagine paying the same amount of money as I would for a song in Itunes for a single weapon/armor item.

I guess I like the idea and I support it but I wonder if the days of awesome free mods are ending which does make me sad.

Also I wonder if the 24 return policy will be abused by people just playing a mod for a bit then returning them. Maybe its just me but I tend to get sick of mods pretty quick so It seems possible people might be able to get what they want in the 24 hours.

  11. If I were to come up with a fan theory type thing id just say that losing a limb is such a great trauma that Jackson's character would just be overwhelmed mentally and his brain would be too scrambled to do anything. But yah its star wars and its full things like that. It seems like any character that has excessive power becomes more and more likely to create plot holes/weird moments.
