  1. Yeah, and it seems to be *hugely* important in this game given that nearly every ability has a delay between when you hit the button and when the ability is actually used - you can cancel pretty well anything if you're fast enough. I think some abilities can even be canceled part way through being used? Not totally sure how this works but have seen a few people talking about this.
  2. 1.0 is out now, and is actually a huge improvement. Better optimized, vaulting is surprisingly polished, and the new map is much more varied and detailed than the original. It's not perfect, but overall I'd say they did a great job with their target of getting out of early access this year - this patch is a big step forward.
  3. Yeah that's the sense I get too - team composition at high MMR seems to be balanced for 3s, not 2s. I wonder how many "viable" 2s lineups there really are, and how much they rock-paper-scissors each other? 2s is my favorite game mode in most any game, but I don't want to invest too much time in practicing if it really is imbalanced compared to 3s. Unrelated, got over the Gold 5 hump - in Gold 3 now, pretty close to 2, and winning tons more than I'm losing right now. Cancel-casting really makes a huge difference to your win %! Faking Rook's charge to get preemptive defensive abilities used (counters, Bakko's bulwark, etc) and then actually using charge once their skill is on CD feels... well, pretty damn great.
  4. Still really enjoying this game, and switched my main to Rook for the last little while. I really like his in-and-out brawler style, using berserk to be able to trade really well for short periods of time and then needing to GTFO for a few seconds. I'm scraping the bottom of the Gold League barrel these days, never dropping to silver but never quite getting to Gold 4 either. I'm curious what people think of 2v2 vs 3v3 - I've been playing 2's because I almost always gravitate to that game mode in any game so that it's easier to have premades with friends, but I hear a lot of people saying this game is balanced around 3v3 - am I missing out?
  5. Glad to hear it re: the new map. I've not dipped my toe into the test servers yet, but probably need to do that given how close the 1.0 release is (Dec 20 IIRC). Sounds like some really great changes queued up in that version - I am excited!
  6. I've switched from maining Ruh Kaan to Croak, as my friend that I got into this is maining Ashka and Croak seems like a much better 2s partner for him. I'm looking for some suggestions re: Croak's battlerites. I currently run a snare & stun focused build to make it easier for Askha to land his combos, with the following battlerites: Spits slow the enemy Two spit charges Dash roots enemies for 1sec Dash hits reduce invis cooldown by 1 sec Toxic blades gives me some fast attack charges and healing I'm really enjoying this build, and have won a few 1v2s with it after my buddy got dropped in a few matches. However, I am running into two issues with it:. First, in any 1v2 where the enemy has a support my damage output is too low to burst the support down - they can't catch and kill me, but I can't deal enough damage to get through a good support's healing. Second, in any matchup where we are up against two melees with some gap close they inevitably just catch and kill Askha, while I don't have adequate control to keep them both off of him and once he's dead I often lack the damage to deal with their high HP. Any suggestions on battlerite changes for when the enemy has two tanky melees that are going to rush Askha, or for matchups where I just straight need some more damage (i.e. Blossom + Ruh Kaan has impossible sustain for my current build)?
  7. Kyir, my name on steam and in Battlerite is the same as here. If you're been playing since BLC you will likely be way, way better than me but if you don't mind that I'm absolutely game. I continue to really enjoy this game. It reminds me of Rocket League, which I put over 600 hours into before I set it down, in that it is a very, very simple game on its face, has really fast matches, but underneath that veneer of "casualness" there is a pretty damn complex game with a high skill ceiling. I'm really digging it. Not many games let you get a competitive gaming fix in for a satisfying number of rounds when you've just got 30 minutes on a weeknight. Did my solo placement matches last night, got Bronze 1, and played a bit to get to silver today. My current MMR feels pretty soft as I am getting a handle on things now, and people at this rank often seem to have no idea how to manage cooldowns, when to back, etc. That said, I'm sure I will still get absolutely crushed by anyone decent for a long time to come - seems to be a very high skill cap game.
  8. Same! I am still at the "forget half my abilities exist" stage, but having fun flailing around in the shallow end of the pool none the less
  9. This season continues to be pretty soft to me, but maybe I've just improved? Hard to say. Either way, this win felt amazing. Most legitimate kills in a solo round for me (I'd previously had 18 but 6 were AFKs I happened upon at the start). It was basically a non-stop firefight from the jump, starting in Severny and ending between Milta and Pochinki. This game is super, super fun when you get to participate in that much action.
  10. Is skill-based matchmaking disabled for this season or something? I've been getting some really, really soft games recently. I'm hitting top 10 43% of the time this season, and winning 14% (after ~12 hours of gametime). Last season I was more like 20%/5% and I don't feel like I've improved that drastically honestly. Are others finding this season a bit strange too, or is it just me?
  11. Crota 2Day: A Destiny 2 Forum Thread

I just hit 20 today so I have no experience with raids etc, but thus far I'd say (for me) it feels less social because you don't really need to cooperate or communicate very often. There's the occasional DPS-check where you need to focus fire some tanky thing on a timer, but aside from that the game is just too forgiving (so far) to demand the kind of teamwork that is rewarded in PUBG.
  12. Crota 2Day: A Destiny 2 Forum Thread

I waited for PC, despite having a PS4. Mouse + KB alone is a huge factor for me. I just got to Nessus, and so far it's pretty fun. I wish most enemies were more complicated and a less bullet-spongey (i.e. shooting off weakpoints to damage & disable instead of just pumping mag after mag into their face), but otherwise the shooting feels great. I personally find it a too easy, but I'm doing lots of side content so I am over-leveled which doesn't help with that. I am enjoying it as a "turn your brain off and have fun" game.
  13. Good god the AWM is fun - I think 5 of these were AWM kills in the last few minutes (got the AWM with ~15 people left). Only the 2nd time I've ever gotten to really use it in a match. Had a very cooperative set of end circles in the open, so got to do some work with the SR. I still had to run pretty far to the last few circles, but it was nice to have a big open space to use that gun in.
  14. Divinity: Original Sin II

I feel this really sums up my (very positive) experience with co-op in this game.
  15. Divinity: Original Sin II

I love how creative you can be with fight and puzzle solutions in this game. Some minor spoilers below about how I got to some (comparatively) high level loot in the Hollow Marshes by cheesing teleport and line-of-sight. I really love how the game not only allows, but encourages you to solve problems in really creative ways by combining the various systems you can control in interesting (and at times almost game-breaking) ways. Really makes me feel like anything is possible, if you have the right skills and enough time to poke at the problem for a while to see what works.
  16. Guess you Steam top 10 most played

Nice idea. My guesses below. The last few were tough to pick! Dota 2 Rocket League Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Counterstrike: GO Civilization 5 Playerunknowns Battlegrounds Skyrim Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Counterstrike: Source Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition And reality below. Not bad for the top half, with the exception of totally forgetting about my Dayz obsession (which is what ARMA was for). Also, holy shit I play a lot of shooters...
  17. Divinity: Original Sin II

I have a story to share about how cool the branching choice and narrative is in this game. There are some spoilers about one of the (many) possible ways to get out of the first act below, but they are related to how I totally fucked up & invalidated a story path (so I don't spoil how that all plays out in the end - I have no idea!). In short, the story has some interesting (and surprisingly serious) overtones that lead to lots of unique ways to solve the first act. I managed to completely fuck up one of those paths so badly that it was closed forever, and the way I did it made me feel like a horrible, horrible person. I really like this game.
  18. If anyone still has any Gamescom crates, they're now going for over $5 CAD on the marketplace (and climbing fast). Supply has finally started to run down, so prices are going nuts. I expect they'll tank when the next batch of crates are announced, so don't wait too long before selling if you have some
  19. Divinity: Original Sin II

I have lots more to say about this game (still loving it), but as I'm short for time right now I'll just address your point about restarting. Very, very minor spoiler (nothing story related) below that is likely to influence your choice. That said, the branching choices and multiple ways to solve the first act are actually really cool so you may still wish to restart just to mess around with that. I did so, as I didn't want to wait for the above & wanted to explore some of the alternate story paths in act 1 anyway. I'm just now closing out the first act (1 fight left, I think).
  20. Yeah, the per-queue skill ratings make for some pretty weird rounds if you've got some hours under your belt and end up playing on anything other than your "main" playlist. When they finally added skill-based matchmaking to FPP a few patches ago I *really* noticed the difference. I hope to see a ranked vs unranked queue instead. I'd rather have a single skill rating across all queues (or at least all servers), and have an "unranked" mode where it doesn't impact my skill rating for when I'm not looking to be competitive. It can still take your current skill rating into account so you don't end up punching new players to death (as it is when you switch servers now), but you don't have to worry about screwing up your ranking when you're just looking to have some silly fun.
  21. While Divinity II is taking up some of my gaming time, this is still my go-to for when I want something competitive. Had a win today where I finally (after over 200 hours) got to have a decent amount of time with an AWM, aside from the shooting range. Ended up winning with 7 kills, 3 of which were with the AWM. That thing is fun
  22. Wow, the skill-based matchmaking they added to FPP in the recent patch has made my life way, way harder. Everyone I play against is a crazy good shot now - it's really tough! I went from making top 10 ~30% of the time when try-harding in solo to being happy if I make it out my drop location that often. Quite an ego adjustment!
  23. OK, I see the connection but come on - the K98 is the sassiest of PUBG guns
