Looks good! I've been working on a game for the jam as well. Unfortunately I can't take a vine because it needs two hands. http://imgur.com/a/SJJsP

Graphically. Sorry, I should've realised from your post that you missed the start of the stream. The Xbox One version looks alright, but the PC version looks way better. That was pretty much par for the course with last generation games, but I wasn't expecting to still see that gap on the new consoles. According to the beta website they'll actually be sending out more invites up until the 17th, although I'm pretty sure the beta ends on the 19th so it'd be a real kick in the balls to get one that late. e: Oh, according to twitter the first batch of codes is going out "very soon".

Yeah, they tried out some different graphics settings. Man, the jump between PC and Xbox One was pretty surprising, I didn't think the difference would be that big.

Giant Bomb are about to play the beta live. http://www.giantbomb.com/chat/

As someone who's mostly played video games and only recently become addicted to my university's pinball machine, I love the idea of every interaction being a physical trigger. Those kinds of limitations are super fascinating. It's made me think alot about making games that are based on tangible objects, like a physical installation rather than code.

I just started reading the Culture series; Iain Banks lived not too far from me and when I died a friend of mine recommended some of his books. I started with Consider Phlebas and just finished Use of Weapons and I'm absolutely loving it (I got halfway through Look to Windward but it never really grabbed me). I want to dig into some of his non-SF works, but Culture is just way too tempting so I'm probably going to pick up Player of Games tomorrow. He was one hell of an author, and an all-round awesome person.

I used to use Opera all the time. Eventually it became really bloated and slow compared to other browsers, so I switched to Chrome. How is it these days?

I've only played an hour or two of Remember Me so far, but I really like it. What I don't like is stepping out of the way of a large enemy who's charging at you, then hitting him in the back while he's stunned from running into the wall. I especially don't like doing this three times.

JazzPunk - A Retro Spyberpunk Comedy Adventure
Vasari replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
Watch the first two minutes of the quick look, then stop! I can absolutely recommend this game, but the real fun is finding things for yourself so it's best not to go into detail. It feels like Thirty Flights of Loving got mashed together with Airplane! or The Naked Gun. I jumped in basically blind and I recommend doing the same. -
Hi! I heard on this week's Idle Thumbs that tons of people signed up recently, and I felt I should get in on that. I'm a game design student from Scotland, although I'm sort of taking a year out of studying for various reasons. Hopefully, that means I have more time to keep learning Unity! I also came along due to mention of that game making thread; I'd love to get involved. Also today I played Jazzpunk and want to recommend that you play Jazzpunk right now.
