I still have a Painted Suros CGB-47 in my vault because it was the rare auto rifle I used before I got my first legendary. My first legendary was The Comedian, and my first legendary primary was Grim Citizen III. I still have them in my vault and I'm never getting rid of them.

Specifically, they've said that the legendaries aren't coming forward, so they won't have an ascension system like they did for HoW. They've always said that Exotic weapons are meant to stay with you no matter what. They did rebalance some legendaries like Black Hammer, but I assume that's a product of two different teams working on these systems.

I'm happy that the old weapons are going, because otherwise in three years time we'd still be using Fatebringer. They need to reset the weapons or we'd never stop using them. Plus, now they know what the community looks for, they can be alot smarter in designing weapons. My only concern is how that'll work in the Crucible, since attack stats don't matter there. I hope they can completely clean the slate so that you don't get destroyed by some arsehole who's held onto his Matador (That arsehole will be me.)

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/08/04/september-2015-the-taken-king-89056.aspx Destiny is the cover of Gameinformer for september. Biggest news: Nolan North is playing the Ghost now. He's rerecording all the dialogue for the entire game.

I took a look today at the leaderboards on Destiny Tracker. Obviously none of us are going to show up globally but it's fun to look at your local area and see how you fare. I'm the 42nd best player in Scotland!

I had a surprisingly easy run with Trials this week. I just wanted to get some packages so I put an LFG post up asking for a casual run. Got invited by one guy and we added a third who just wanted to get the gauntlets, and we ended up running a straight 7-0. It was also the first time either of them had made it to the Lighthouse, so it was a really fun experience. I always get anxious trying to find a serious group because I'm worried they'll turn out to be arseholes. Jon, let me know if you want to run it next time, we make a good team!

I think the entire premise is flawed because I've never seen "progressives" ignore class disparity. Most of the political discussion right now in the US and UK is focused on how economic status is a huge factor in inequality. Isn't that what intersectionality is all about? And this line is just straight fucking wrong.

Idle Thumbs 221: Meet the Kerfluffles
Vasari replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I haven't played Splatoon yet, but I actually really like the way they're rolling out maps and modes. Thinking back on games like Evolve and Titanfall, the population quickly got bored with the game and left after the first few months. I've tried to play Titanfall in the last year or so and found literally nobody else online. By the time these games get around to releasing DLC everybody's moved on to something else, and nobody wants to pay for new content in something they're not playing anymore. So it makes alot of sense to drip feed new content every month or so. People in general seem pretty on board with the whole plan, which in some ways is funny because you just know that if EA tried to do this the internet would be out for blood. -
Today, my First World Problem (or Golden Age Problem) is that I got another Matador in the Crucible. After rerolling my first Matador for ages I eventually got it to Accurized Ballistics/Shot Package/Rifled Barrel/Luck in the Chamber. The new one that I got is an incredible roll: Aggressive Ballistics/Shot Package/Rifled Barrel/Final Round. My Golden Age Problem is that Aggressive Ballistics is slightly better than Accurized Ballistics since it gives more impact, but Luck in the Chamber is slightly better than Final Round since LitC can give bonus damage to any shot instead of the last one. I don't know if it's worth levelling the new one and using it instead, or if I should just keep it to reroll in case I maybe get a perfect roll. It's so hard having all these good shotguns!!!

Good for you! Talking about yourself can be really difficult, but it definitely helped me get through some difficult stuff. I hope it goes well.

I recall reading that Riot hire actors to come into the studio and pretend to be new employees but don't give them employee badges, and then reward real employees who report the fake ones because they have a problem with LoL players trying to sneak into the office.

I've noticed that in a couple of places. Most recently in Episode 4 there's a long conversation that you can rewind and do over again to try and get a better outcome, but I couldn't see how to have it end up the way I wanted to. Every path I took ended up the wrong way. Although it might be because of a choice I made earlier; I hate when the choices you make never have meaningful outcomes so maybe I'm finally getting what I wanted. And you're right, it's crazy that this of all games doesn't have a selfie function. I got through Episode 4 last night and man, the tone really takes a turn. I mean there was already some dark stuff going on but they really get into it here, especially with the little Episode 5 tease. The one thing that's bothering me about the series is that the puzzle solving is getting pretty bare. The reason Dontnod made this game is because of how people responded to the memory sequences in Remember Me, so I was hoping they'd do more intricate puzzle environments like that. All that stuff has taken a back seat to the narrative, which to be fair I love and I already can't wait to see how it wraps up. Also I took this screenshot of Daniel because his t-shirt is amazing.

I know, I just feel bad anyway for signing up and not showing. Jon has a really good guide here for the best PvP weapons and perks. There's also this doc which gives an in-depth breakdown of the stats on every weapon. In general if you want to keep up with this stuff, you should read the Crucible Playbook subreddit. They're really good for working out the best weapons, and just giving good general PvP advice.

If you do get a group together, feel free to invite me, I won't ignore it this time!

If another one is scheduled then I'll make an effort to show up for it. I'm seriously really sorry, I feel like a right arsehole for forgetting about everything yesterday. I didn't even realise until I came on here and read the posts this morning.

I'm a huge idiot. Sorry about last night, I was really tired and I completely forgot I had signed up to do the raid. I kept getting invites and thinking "Why the hell are people asking me to play Destiny?"

Ugh, that round is really annoying. The easiest way to do it is with a bubble Titan + Helm of Saint-14, so you can blind the VIP right before he reaches the waypoint and then kill him easily. If you don't have a Titan or that exotic, you can get him on the first round by waiting at the door and nuking him, but on the third wave he doesn't usually come out for at least 5-10 seconds so you can't hang around long enough to get him. You might have better luck waiting on the right side of the arena instead of the left, and sniping him from there.

The DLC came out for this today. I've only done two puzzles but it's more of The Talos Principle so I'm enjoying. There's also more Goldblum. Weird Goldblum. (It's from very early in the DLC but I'll put it in spoiler tags)

The opening of this episode is like the world's worst psychic routine. I had the same problem with Alphabear, I'm glad someone else brought it up because I felt like the only person who got really frustrated with that game. I don't care about the free to play bear stuff as much, but what really annoyed me was that you can't even play the game without an internet connection. There's absolutely no justification for that unless having control over your stupid timed F2P environment is more important than letting the player actually play your game. I was visiting my mum this weekend, and as soon as I leave a major city in Scotland I completely lose my 3G signal. I'd only just installed Alphabear and I was looking forward to playing it on the bus journey, but the restriction soured me so much that I just deleted it since I no longer had any interest in playing it.

This Monte Carlo/Throwing Knife combo looks hilarious, I really want to get one of these so I can try it.

Iwata and Peach had a sordid affair. Mario and Iwata buried the hatchet but they never really liked each other. Ever noticed how they were never on stage together?

The fusion rifle will help at range, but they're pretty underpowered right now compared to shotguns. Plus, the Party Crasher is one of the best shotguns around right now. Give it a try, use whatever feels comfortable. Remember that special ammo is at a premium so you don't want to be wasting shots. The bounty isn't actually too punishing; You get 5 points for a kill and lose 2 when you die. As long as you get one kill for every two deaths you'll end up making progress.

Congrats! Lots of people complain about that phase but it's not too hard if you can hold your own in the Crucible. The final phase needs a group, it mostly involves clearing out Phogoth's room and waiting for a good 15 minutes for the named wizard to show up. There are usually groups on DestinyLFG running it, but you could put a 100 post up and get a group here.

I had a go at soloing Crota's End today. It went pretty well. I died a bunch on Ir Yut and Crota. In the successful run I had to use 3 swords on Crota because I screwed up the first one. Mostly the trouble with him is doing the rockets to bring his shield down. And for some reason I thought it'd be smart to kill the swordbearer with a shotgun instead of sniping him, so I died alot to the mass of thralls around him. It was fun though, I recommend trying it before Gjallarhorn gets nerfed.
