  1. You might be one of the last people on earth who actually wants a Blackberry :)

Seriously, stylus and physical keyboard are kind of their thing.

I've a strong testimonial for blackberry - I use a z10 as an everyday phone and lots of work AMD love it. I've the touch screen and it took a few days but the keyboard is great and predictive text is way better than other androids I had used before, even the paid Swift key pales in comparison

The interface of melding many inboxes and messenger programs into a singular interface is pretty great

This fall they are merging Amazon apps into their pitiful store.

The physical keyboard version, q10?, works the same way but with the familiar no-look text-while-walking feel.

All being said company is switching phone plans oct 31 and ill have a nexus 5. I'll report back if still looking

  2. RE: Game 1 - someone in the office was placing a bet with their ...whatever..bookie? And one of the bigger baseball fans "shields is unhittable! put it on KC!"

i didnt turn it on till the 9th, just seemed flat.  But turned that around obviously... i wonder if it'll be high-scoring all the way through.  Defense hasnt really seemed to be top-priority the whole post season (lots of high scoring games in both leagues)

  3. After Chris' talk about his childhood fear of being carried away by balloons, I expected the Pixar talk to immediately veer into the idea of a five-year-old Chris watching Up and being terrified.

(True story: Muntz was originally supposed to die by snagging his foot on a bunch of balloons and floating away instead of falling)

This clip seems relative to balloon fears

i forget where i was turned onto this...could have even been this podcast.

  4. One of the podcasts I listen too has been advertsing this: http://www.blueapron.com/

I've heard good things, though no personal experience. I'm also not sure about the cost.

my wife and i got a free week trial and it was pretty good.  The recipes were pretty simple and the packaging shows up with everything measured out, down to the little baggies filled with pepper.

Our major issue was that it didn't yield a lot, enough for a dinner - but never would get left overs.  So, depending on your vehicle availability, area, or work conditions it could be a nice fit - except we have a car, grocery store down the street, and i bring left overs 4-5x a week to work.

  5. i had my doubts as well but was pretty happy with the damage output & attack speed.  I felt a much

My past experiences with brood always let me wanting in the attack speed area, this helps & keeps active in the fight.

It is obviously not an every round solution, but being able to slip into push later in the game would be pretty nice

  6. holy smokes, another win (KC). at first i was excited because i wanted detroit to lose (white sox fan) and KC go further, but this has been wild.  Good time of year to be playing their best baseball

if they get the brooms & STL starts fighting back KC will be in great shape with a few days rest on all pitchers, and there are no stupidly cold venues left to play in so late October play wont be in snow

  7. im in an adjacent boat.  i want this game to exist but since they've hit the goal & pretty far off the potentially neat goal of "endless mode" i think im going to hold off on the backing.  I really like the sound track (if the video is indicative of the rest) - but $35 is pretty steep

and as bad as it seems, i know a summer/winter sale after it releases i'll be able to get the sound track & game for $15

  8. trying a new Broodmother build that has been circulating some dota forums -

    http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/961123651

ended up losing, but i would reckon that has something to do with husk & bad disruptor (my brother and uncle respectively)

    Anyways the build is - 2 3 2 3 2 4 2/3 2/3 1 4 111 (stats ult and win)

    opening items - tango/quelling/ring of protect/gg branch

early items - poor man shield, phase boots, yasha

    core - manta / bkb

Late - mkb / butterfly / AC / orchid if necessary

The skill build itself has a much more even feeling than the typical spiderlings & webs whereas you sit around and build an army of spiders.  i was able to actually kill and participate in kills much sooner, especially with the disperse web move & being able to save up 4 charges.  can change lane and be useful rather than setting up a new base camp over the next 10 minutes.

i'd like to hear others feedback or if theyve been trying anything new with broodmother since the web-charge changes

  9. Nice, that's pretty close to my PC stats and I have a controller as well.

should run fine, i had it almost max (no weird treehouse hair effect) and ive a gen1 i7 & xfire 6850's

i also played with a controller and found it to be great (ps3 controller)

  10. i made chili yesterday that came out pretty great - recipe below if anyone interested

2lbs ground beef (90% lean if available)

    1 tablespoon oil

    2 cloves garlet minced

    1 table spoon each -

    • oregano
    • salt
    • black pepper
    • red pepper flakes
    • paprika
    • chili powder
    • cumin

    Chopped onion

    16oz salsa

30oz diced tomatoes w/chilies (Rotel, etc)

Mix dry spices & garlic with ground beef & brown w/oil.  Combine with salsa, tomatoes, onion in slow cooker.  Cook 4-6hrs on low

I also learned that my wife actually doesnt like chili, and puts up with my 2-3x a month chili cooking out of love.  need to find another lazy-sunday slow cooker meal now

  11. i might be a little/too late to the conversation but what about smugmug? my wife uses it for her photography hosting, actually switching this coming weekend for her whole website

currently on Zenfolio which has been good enough, i think fairly inexpensive too, these are again photography hosting focused...but if its portfolio upload may be just as good

  12. Dear Quitters Club,

I've been thinking of quitting Luftrausers.

(Million-page thread in one of the podcast episodes re: the aesthetics of the game aside) I kinda like this game, but feel like it's a bit too score-chasey.  A lot of the early upgrades feel more like side-grades.  Is it the case that there's a consistent feeling with all of the upgrades regarding the POWER of your plane?  Is there an upgrade progression ala Ridiculous Fishing, or is this trying to recreate more of an arcade experience where you're expected to pick your favorite build and just get actually skilled?

is there an end to Luftrausers? i thought it was just a leaderboard/score chasing arcade game with upgrades & small missions to unlock handful of options.  Quitting score-chasers doesnt feel like abandonment/quitting to me...just satisfaction with your high-score.

I actually loaded up and played a few rounds last night, but something about it was off and uninteresting - likely related to coming off a 4hr (and 4win!) dota night & starting hotline miami for the first time.  Anyways, i am probably going to put it down for a few weeks before i get the itch to move up the leaderboards (theres lots of room from 50kth place)

  13. cant watch books on netflix, also none of the books in the book club where interesting (to me), twin peaks is both interesting and nutty as heck

speaking of netflix, is this available on any of the popular streaming services? or are people dusting off their DVD collection

i've only seen one episode and like David Lynch, like others have said could be a good motivation to get on board now.
