That "forever" room had me irritable for a while, but overall really thought it was a good time. Vvvvvv had me much more ragey about some of the puzzle rooms, not a good feeling

on Chris' suggestion i played You Have to Win the Game, i love the old color scheme...but even more the simulated crt style. its of course a novelty and if every indie next quarter switched to EGM graphics itd be awful 91% on the first play...perhaps ill come back in to finish the achievos

stupid question, but isnt the point of the league to have your players score points in all their games this week...why did they wait till after the NA qualifiers are over (sorry liquid!)? furthermore shouldnt said eliminated teams been removed from the fantasy league draft? unfortunately i was hanging flower baskets and missed the draft - it would not have been a pleasant conversation "dear sweetie, heres a drill...i gotta go get Puppey for my support 1spot not complaining at all, i just think its weird that i got 2 NA teams already out+ **edit - i was reading the faq on dota2.com and learned that they count ALL ongoing tournaments..not just the international. makes sense, and i suppose if you are really up-and-up on the pro scene picking up an eliminated team would be good

Super Smash Bros. (Spoiler: Snake Kills Ganondorf)

perhaps they had no intention of the girl villager. and this is a safeguard to any fall out about having the female equivalent of the character - especially after the Tomodachi Life same-sex marriage commentary last week -
on the same topic, i have been interested in Banner Saga since release but knew couldnt dedicate the time to starting. anyone with opinion on the appropriate price point for it? i imagine it'll be 15 or less on the impending steam sale also stanley parable is the midweek madness sale for 10$. the game seems timeless, so i dont think theres any rush to jump until <$5. additionally to the topic, and a longer discussion I'm sure, does anyone have specific metrics to determine when its a "good time to buy"? i keep a GoogleSheet for my most desired games; i also track their price, lowest price recorded to date, and what my perceived price point/value is. when the sale price matches i usually pull the trigger

in case someone isnt on their mailing list - Humble Bundle is in the middle of their late spring/early summer sale Today is Banner saga & the stand alone multiplayer components for $15

im having work done at the house, so should be around - is there an auto-draft feature if people miss/cant make it? (or if my wife raises hell for being on the damn doto all day)

after a change of heart, i decided not to rage Risk of Rain and instead my first win this game seems like my new isaac, at least until rebirth comes out

i may quit Risk of Rain, but mostly a rage. i was about to cross last teleporter to final boss w/Engineer after a 55 minute run (no artifacts, medium)...and accidentally hit my keyboard sleep button in attempt for a screenshot it obviously closed the game, didnt keep any of the character unlocks, items, or the flippin screenshots -
i was sort of hoping for the soundtrack to be tossed in with a pre-order bonus or something. although im sure i'll accumulate the OST with a humble bundle eventually
-
hmm, ivent a clue to how to pick a good team, but would be in to round out the 10th

afternoon folks, wanted to send a thank you for some great suggestions in this thread as of late after spending a week in the dominican with "limited" (as in 5-10 minutes stable a day) most of the time at night was spent with some great suggestions in this thread. Really enjoyed Pixel Dungeon and Hoplite pixel dungeon was neat, but frequently died - i dont know if its player or just the random draw of the levels and Hoplite is great. i got to lvl 18 before exiting once...now experimenting with skipping some shrines for bonus points etc

big win for chicago yesterday...but they had one of those stat windows pop up showing the last 25 years when down 0-2 they've lost 6 or 7 of the 9 series im all for breaking tradition, but offense has been a real problem for the BHawks (and also defense in the last few minutes of regulation gm1 & 2) also, the ice at the United Center (chicago's large arena for Bulls & Blackhawks) is getting a beating. the bulls are on alternating days at home for play offs & it's been a little warmer here too. its pretty interesting to see as the game goes on how much chips up & how the puck goes on edge/bounces more. Its only going to get worse if the weather picks up & bulls advance in the playoffs

Any hockey fans out there? Entering period 6 of game 1 (world champion) Chicago Blackhawks I figured try to necro the thread at least for playoffs As for hockey as a whole I think it's too early to tell but the east looks really strong *update, 26 seconds into ot3 it's over. Oh well. If I was a fan who just sat through 15 minute zamboni show I'd be a little upset

i had the opposite experience. i really enjoyed the first one...cant quite pinpoint why...but then got the second and barely got 6hrs before big uninstall. perhaps ill have to give another try

im enjoying castlestorm as a second-screen game...but i think the mouse/keyboard controls are pretty bad. the gameplay doesnt necessarily change...there is some "castle" building elements & ranking up different elements but it was so clearly a console - first designed game because the ultra-precision of a mouse arrow launcher makes head shots the fastest way to clean up the map. Im about halfway through the 1st campaign going full-stars. i hope multiplayer could be some fun -
ive purposely stayed in the dark on this one...but after my experience with Bastion & that gorgeous giant sword I think insta-buy from this guy

ive also temporarily quit BL2 at this point as well, but with 168hrs logged since release & in Ultimate Vault hunter mode @lvl55. for me it wasn't the repetitive gunning & endless looting that dragged me down...it was the 3rd play through The scale of difficulty between end game True Vault hunter & Southern Shelf UVHM is incredible...i died 6x (if not more) before getting to hammerlock's little shack. as zer0 and the weapons i had at the time it was too much, on the other hand i have a friend who continued and is right around lvl-72 now. he said he died a lot but trucked through and on the other side of the difficulty wall after some decent drops a much more reasonable time playing i think it was a great improvement on BL1...and some of the DLC made for great additions to the story (and fairly good length, and good loot for farming) Great pick up on a GoTY on steam for ~$15 -
Idle Thumbs 152: Piercing the Fourth Dimension
undermind9 replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
nice surprise to see this posted as i sat down for the night. one of the few shows i listen to regularly where an extra long ep isnt annoying in the least. great work and lots of laughs. and i also love local politics...but even on the lower level i happen to really enjoy city hall meetings for permit and local ordinances. in my line of work i have to pull a lot of permits for signs and end up staying through the whole meeting to learn about different municipalities and what they are trying to pass or not pass in most cases. also, sheds light on the average persons in the community who are completely clueless, in addition to not having any notable debate or public speaking skills. im not the most articulate guy around...but i think i could organize my thoughts when arguing for a new stop sign on a residential thoroughfare -
i am a huge fan of space marine MP, surprisingly still can get full matches...unfortunately (and fortunately since THQ is gone) the networking is shared hosting...and if it gets on a bad node (ie other side of the world) there can be awful lag the horde mode is great as well, can get real hard if people are paying attention. still got some achievos to clean up there...id be down for a 4-player IT go at them

i happen to love the shiva for any tanky hero that requires mana. surviving fights fits my playstyle & the people i play with. on SK i would freeze aura after arrival to trap lords in the blast & epicenter. the freeze though is a bonus effect of the passive -40 attack speed debuff, ~400 mana, and mana regen boost. Some heroes just never have enough mana but this the most important. one game you'll crush and have a blue staff, veil, blink, and shiva...the next it'll be a struggle to get the blink in a reasonable time & a mismash of parts to the rest of the desired items. kind of a downer..but still a blast
