    I know that this is a reference to "video games." but now I am inspired to take photos of game-displays at local stores and upload them here.

     

    Well, it was more of how Colonial Marines is now sold next to games like Cabela, Nicktoons on 3DS, and a Tron Wii game. The idea that this hyper advertised, super hyped up AAA video game (that is very bad) now is displayed with those other games is very hilarious. "VIDEO GAMES" is the icing on the cake.

    The only person I've ever removed from my Steam Friends was an old buddy from my hometown that became an MRA somewhere down the line.

     

    Similar to me. Before getting into this community, I frequented the 4PlayerPodcast forums (which I've talked about a bit in this forum) and in retrospection, most of the people I met there were absolute trash. The worst kind of people, and September last year, I just decided to cut off any ties with them, specially through Steam. My 160 Steam Friend list went down to 70, with only a handful being from the old community. The handful few who actually grew up and became good people.

    Great episode, I absolutely loved that introduction. But Sean, dude, YER SPANISH STILL SUCKS. "Esta hoy?" I think you just mean "Hoy" or "Hoy mismo." I mean this in a friendly way, not in a mean-spirited way, btw.

    This is an important video. Please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE watch this video. Especially if you are in the games industry in any way, and are white and male (which is like 90-95% of this community). 

     

    And if you're instantly put off by the thumbnail, the title, or how this dude talks, you are part of the problem this guy is talking about and you REALLY need to watch it. 

     

     

    Seriously, please watch this video. It's something I wish people talked about and people rarely do, and this guy not only does it well, but he does it by pouring his heart out and being down to earth. Genuine.

    Concerning "mansplaining":

     

    The smartest thing to do if you feel you are mansplaining on issues not related to you (since you're a dude) is just let those who are most likely connected to the problem (i.e, women, LGBQT people, minorities overall) talk instead of you. Problem is, this community, though quite progressive, is mostly made up of straight, white men, so it becomes hard to quiet down and let those people talk because...there aren't many of those people around in the community. In that case, I suggest reading stuff by those people (like the stuff I linked) on the issue at hand, and then internalize what they say and understand their side on the issue rationally. Overall, this is all about being a decent human being.

     

    I apologize for my bad grammar, correcting this atm.

    All of them important reads. I purposefully didn't link the RockPaperShotgun article on it because it felt mansplainy, non-confrontational, and jokey. 

     

    What's eerier about this is how very little people are talking about this. Specially those closest to Temkin like the Giant Bomb guys (specially Dave Lang and Patrick Klepek) and other CAH people. It's all around weird and pretty disgraceful and cowardly.
