I agree with that last sentiment. I wouldn't mind if Mnemonic is literally just going around and exploring a space. These puzzle mechanics sound slightly forced and trivial, imo.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Great compilation! I have a love-hate thing with Kanye, and was happy his more introspective and bragging-less songs were displayed there. -

What predictions? I haven't followed this thread, just like with the game.

Pretty reliable.

Haha, that's great.

Holy shit, I wish I could attend that!

Yeah, Thief's guard dialogue was fairly humorous, specially with all the made up insults and slang. One of the greatest joys of playing Thief 1 and 2 is overhearing the silly guard conversations. The bear pits argument at the very start of Thief 1 is one hell of a good first impression, imo. Watching that previously linked video and replaying some of Thief really makes me wish AAA video games aimed somewhere different than just "dark, grim, and depressing". I'd take sarcastic, darkly humorous, and snarky Garrett over brooding, boring, "MY GIRLFRIEND FELL INTO A HELL HOLE AT THE START OF THE GAME" Garrett. Also, interesting facts: this was Ken Levine's first game he ever wrote for. Writing credit also to Terri Brosius, voice of Shodan and voice actress/writer other subsequent Looking Glass games and Looking Glass inspired games. Also, the wife of Eric Brosius, composer of the System Shock 2 soundtrack.

I'm glad this film terrified you as it did. A truly magnificent film.

I am willing to buy Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory on Steam to the first two people who respond to this message either by PM or in this thread. I'm serious, this game is fucking awesome. Don't fret, it doesn't have Uplay.

After watching that GotG trailer, I wish James Gunn did all of the Marvel films. He has a greater visual and writing style than most other Marvel comics based films that I've seen. Whedon can't film anything for shit and his screenwriting is middling at best, I felt that without the actors, the movie would've sucked hard. Kenneth Branagh should just stick to acting like a badass and return to making sweeping epics, not boring Thor movies.

Plenty, unless you mean studios that have been existing since the late 90s...which in that case, I can't think of any at the moment. Firaxis and Maxis haven't closed...yet.

Really worried if the people laid off will find jobs, specially in this economy. Hey Campo Santo, ya'll should hire some people from Irrational. :3
-
Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant.
-
Wellp, there goes Irrational. Wouldn't be surprised that after this, we get some stories on how horrendous the development of Bioshock Infinite was. Playing it feels like playing a hollow carcass of a game. It feels like a shitton was iterated and cut out. For what reasons (other than the obvious fact that some content just needs to be cut), I do not know.
