I'm so so so so so so so happy you loved Chaos Theory, It's literally THE anti-Tom Clancy game. It ditches rah-rah nationalistic, patriotic wankery and blown out useless mechanics and tools that have and are expected in Tom Clancy licensed games, and it instead opts to be smooth, clever, focused, sharp, and to the point. I can't think of a more perfect modern stealth game, so succinct in its mechanics and how sharp in its dialogue and character development. And what's amazing is how no one notices? That speaks to the true beauty of the game. Everything fits perfectly, everything is in place, nothing feels like an overblown idea, or useless padding. Another thing that I love about the game, and is something I've only heard Steve talk about and laud, is the physicality of the game. It's been 9 years since it came out, and there's been no other third person shooter that makes interacting with the world so visually tactile. Games now have the power to create amazing, detailed, mocapped animation that can be even be procedural if they wanted, but Chaos Theory's half mo-cap, half hand made animation is so smooth and tactile it's just...ugh. And don't get me started on the music, that motherfucking muuusiiicc aaaaaaaaahh.

So Skullgirls is 50% off... Anyone play it and have an opinion on it? I'm interested in it since it's apparently very friendly to people who don't play fighting games. Also, the music and art style looks lovely. What puts me off is the character design which, despite being lovingly animated and detailed from what I see in trailers, are kind of gross in their blatant, anime-ish pandering sexualization of the characters, from big jiggling boobs to panty shots. And the devs' excuse is that the animator is a lady...? As if that's justification...? But yeah, idk what to concretely feel. Any thoughts on the game?

That looked pretty dumb, but then again, so is all of Whedon's work, imo. The only thing I've ever liked from him is Cabin in the Woods, and it's funny that that just happens to be the one Joss Whedon involved film where he didn't direct and happened to co-write it with the director. If Whedon had taken helm of both the directing and writing, it'd be no surprise to me that I would not like it. Shit, I'd probably even hate it. If there is one thing I at least want that asshole to learn, is how to film things, because Jesus Christ, his work looks so fucking bland. You can argue that its because he's used to filming TV shows, which have that clean, sterile, and boring look to them most of the time, but holy shit, he seems to take it to a whole other level. He also should just stick to writing characters and let someone else write the main plot. That's my mini-rant against Whedon I guess. Also, as a person, he's a shithead, but that's a discussion for somewhere else.
