    lol yep, it's the worst.

     

    So I was thinking about fanservice last night, after twig said that he complained about it after every show we talked about.

     

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that nobody cares when boobs are shown on Game of Thrones, Sopranos or Orange is the New Black, but draw some tits and all of a sudden it's weird and wrong.

     

    Certainly in the case of GoT, there is worse stuff shown on that than even the most fan-servicey of shows.

     

    I mean, it could be that because they're drawn, they're so much more easier to sexualise, which, yeah, that's a good point, but then again all western super heroes wear skin tight lycra, and are similarly drawn in ridiculous poses to show off assets. 

     

    I guess I'm just getting more and more frustrated trying to forgive my personal favourite form of media, when literally every other form of media does it, and no-one bats an eyelid when it does. Sex sells, it's as simple as that, and it applies to literally everything.

     

    I'm by no means saying it's right, I'm just saying I refuse to knock a great anime down like shokugeki no souma just because it wants to make a few more DVD sales by showing some boobs.

    P4 is a good example of pacing, I think. It's slower than P3, and more linear to start off with, but it's all worth it for making you really care about the characters, situation and place. And it fucking works because I'm still talking and thinking about it today. PQ is a good game, made better by feeling like I'm back with the ol' gang again.

    I know that someone on here plays a lot of visual novels, and I just wanted to post to say that Muv-Luv - widley considered one of the best visual novels - has got a kickstarter going on to get all 3 (and if the right stretch goals are met, all of the spin off) games translated and out on PC + vita. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/muvluv/muv-luv-a-pretty-sweet-visual-novel-series

     

    I have forgotten who it is, but I hope whoever does like VN's sees this post and backs this. I've had this game sitting on my hard drive for years. Maybe the official release will get me to finally play it :3

    Guys why aren't we talking about stamps? Who cares about communities when there are stamps! Of aall my favorite games. Like the base ball one. I can't wait to buy more stamps from the psn store for £2.50. This console is the best.

    True story: I had a Lyft driver bring up Sword Art Online apropos of nothing and I was like "heh he hehhe he yeah it's greaaaaaaat"

     

    Anyway, SAO is the lowest of the low. That'd be like hating shounen because of Bleach. Only reason I called out .hack is because it was the first of its kind, as far as I know. I did like it originally, I think I might even like it now? It's on my re-watch list.

     

    My point is, they're not all the same show, just like not every sports anime is about one guy being the absolute best sportsball player of all time.

    Yeah, good point. I've been meaning to try Log Horizon, to be fair. Now the summer anime is over, I'll give it a look. I think it's on Netflix.

     

    Also, more irritation about the creator's arbitrary limitations. He says that he won't include movies because he hasn't seen enough and it's about series anyway... except Millennium Actress and End of Evangelion are on still there, the former because he felt Satoshi Kon was underrepresented and the latter because he felt it "completes" the series. Seriously, guys, don't bother with hard and fast rules if you're going to break them for all of your favorites. It makes me mistrust the entire mission of these flowcharts!

     

    What makes this worse is that there is already a great Satoshi Kon TV anime, Paranoia Agent, that he failed to mention. What a silly billy!

    The closest hate anime I watched was probably Claymore. That show went off into awful anime-ending shit like 6 episodes from the end, and it was baaaaaad. I didn't really enjoy it so much as glad it was over.

     

     

    I think people see the words "MMO anime" and assume it's going to be like .hack  Sword Art Online where it's just "it's an MMO but you can die in rela life oh nooo" or whatever.

    Seriously SAO is the worst thing to happen to anime, and is the worst. The number of people who I have to grin and grit my teeth when they say 'oh man I luuuurve Asuna' is too many to bare. God it's garbage.

    Ugh. So that's another guitar I have to buy. This game is getting more and more expensive, and makes me want it less and less. T_T

     

    Also it looks like that offer's a no-go for UK residents. Just like everything Harmonix does. 

     

    I fucking love harmonix, but they're offers and shit outside of the US is just shockingly non-existant. It hurts. But I also understand that it's not as simple as that. Even then, this is not the first time they've done this. TT__TT

    I mean, there's the same thing on Xbone now (called games for gold or something lame like that), but even then, that's another subscription I'm not willing to pay for. And I don't want another box under my TV too.

     

    Ultimately I'm just upset that I'm going to have to pay so much more for a game that isn't that thematically different from 2, and even more upset that just due to the high price-point, I won't be playing a game that I loved so so much last gen. It is probably my most played game series.

     

    Looking into it a bit further, it doesn't even look like they're going to release all 2000+ songs at release. So I probably won't be able to play all my Grateful Dead songs straight away any-ways.

     

    I didn't think that they might not re-print the dongle. Good idea. I guess I'll pick one up at Christmas or something. :/

    Shiiit, this game is released in a fortnight.

     

    So, what should I do? I'm kinda fucked either way at shilling out £200+ just to play this game. Currently I own a PS4. All my DLC from the past 3 games (about 500+), as well as instruments are on the 360. So it's either buy an Xbone + the game, which will be around £300 for the console, plus £60 for the game + 360 controller adapter, or spent £220 for the game on the ps4, then the extra £30 something for the extra guitar controller (because the band-in-a-box only has one guitar), and then the god-knows how much money to slowly buy back all the previous DLC I owned on the 360.

     

    I think this is why I won't be getting this game. I feel this might be the same for a lot of people who moved over to the ps4 this gen. Which is a real shame.

    I have been watching Orange is the New Black, and whilst it's excellent, the thing that really bugs me is that there's a specific background noise of a mechanical door closing that is exactly the same as the doors in the Facility level of GoldenEye, and it pulls me out of the fiction for a fraction of a second whilst my brain reminds me of this. 

     

    I really dislike it when games kill off a character in a cutscene in a way that would never work within the actual gameplay.  It makes the death feel incredibly artificial and forced when you've had a dozen characters or more already escape the jaws of death in similar situations, but suddenly, magically, this one time, no one thought of using any of the tools at their disposal that they had used to save the lives of each other over the last several months of being companions. 

     

    I hate this the most in fighting games. Especially when you have to win, only for the preceding cutscene to be about how your main character gets defeated. This is especially prevalent in anime series based fighting game. Like young Sasuke ever had a chance against Itachi. The fuck. Just let me fail and see the same cutscene.

    I'm pretty sure that there is no female only weapon/item in MH. The Magia Charm is available for guys too, I'm almost certain. I also play as a women though, so I'll have to load up a friend's game to find out for sure.

     

    On a side note, the female costumes are so much better than the male ones.

     

    Also, to the person who was asking for good armour, the Patisserie set has taken me all the way through to G3, and only now considering changing it. It's really, really, really good. Especially for SnS guys.
