  1. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I did it! I defeated the 4 kings on my SL1 run! Whoo! http://steamcommunity.com/id/N1njaSquirrel/screenshot/3332971629711339988
  2. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I am also doing an SL1 run. Currently trying to defeat the 4 Kings. Any hints? I am also trying to be an SL1 Dark wraith, so I guess it makes this fight harder?
  3. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I really don't get this. They aren't that hard. I have suffered more deaths to the archers than these guys.
  4. anime

Ouran is good. I would be interested to know these LGBT-themed romance manga Tegan. Two more I remembered being good as I flicked through my phone - Good Ending (although Main guy is suitably weedy, it's really heart-achingly good) and 'Watashi ni xx shinasai!' which sounds and looks like an ero-manga but isn't, has a strong feminine lead but is so reverse-harem it's silly. There are other love-stories that I can think of and like, but are too ero to recommend in good taste.
  5. inSynch

Rock Paper Shotgun is probably my favourite.
  6. anime

Impuuuu - Have you tried Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun? That's a sweet romance/comedy/slice-of-life anime with a strong female lead and a non-wimpy guy. But it's played mostly for laughs. Maybe it's your thing? Your list looks interesting, I shall check them out when I have the time!
  7. Cartoons!

AT and Ping Pong? Good to see more Yuasa knocking about, even if AT isn't considered 'canon' Ping Pong is great, if you haven't watched it already.
  8. I did it! I completed Dark Souls 2. I don't have anything interesting to say that hasn't already been said, but I'm looking forward to my PC edition, so I can enjoy the PvP, which I avoided because the load time kills me. Also, I tried to go DEX, but despite my best efforts, I got fed up with it, and recalling the fun I had with the club in Dark Souls 1, re-specced, upgraded the club to +10 and smashed some heads to victory. At the end of the day, it's the move set you're most comfortable with, over the damage it does. The club is my favorite weapon, hands down. Also, does anyone know what's the deal with the final bosses' soul? Can't seem to do anything with it. Meh :/
  9. Jazz

Damn I love me some jazz. As anime was mentioned in this thread, everyone should give 'Kids Under the slope' a good watch coz it's amazing. It got me into jazz. Check the clip Which naturally got me to love Art Blakey's Moanin': My friend also loves this awesome Japanese band, 'Soil and Pimp Sessions'. They are bitchin': finally, me and my friends have a spotify playlist that I'm going to add all these songs into. Check it and contribute if you want: Jazzy Beats
  10. Cartoons!

Uh yeah, you're right. When I said 'the other day', I really meant 'about 6 months ago'. I kinda forgot everything about it, and my mind just made it worse and worse. Sorry. I think in general the comedy didn't click for me. My girlfriend reminded me of the cookie cat song, which I found to be quite awkward and unfunny. I feel like a fool. I'll check out that episode though. I should give it another go.
  11. Cartoons!

Rick and Morty sounds great. I'll have to check it out. Is it CG? I can't really tell. Weird. A work colleague also mentioned this exact episode of Bob's Burgers today too. I watched the first episode of 'Stephen Universe' the other day, and was sorely disappointed. The jokes just revolved around the three girls bullying a mentally retarded child, which wasn't funny at all. The jokes were so flat and the story was dull. Which was a shame. Especially considering it came from Rebecca Sugar, who wrote my favourite Adventure Time episode. I also found out that it's the first ever show on cartoon network to be created by a woman. This makes me quite sad on a number of levels - That it has taken this long for that to happen, that the industry (Probably the wrong word there) is like this to make it noteworthy, and that the show was rather rubbish. Finally, new Adventure Time on Monday! I can't wait to see the conclusion of the cliff hanger dealt in the last episode. Even though it wasn't much of a cliff hanger, because honestly
  12. anime

How much did you watch? I watched the first episode, and whilst it was a very predictable shonen affair, I didn't hate it. The mangaka worked as Oda's assistant for years, which is why it looks a lot like one piece. The first episode of One Piece was pretty terrible too. gg on crunchyroll getting the first season. Maybe the episode gap is a premium member thing? Edit: It isn't. Just a weird licensing thing. XD
  13. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

In DaS2, you can get invaded when you are hollow. However, after you are invaded (it's only happened to me a couple of times) there is a grace period where you won't get invaded at all. Also, there is no red eye orb, just a cracked red eye orb, so the number of invasions you can do is limited, cutting down the number of invaders. There are also a lot more NPC invaders. I don't know if there's level banding or not in DaS2 like there was in DaS. In DaS the summon/invade levels work out at something like 20% your level + 5 (or 10) levels above and below your level, so if you're level 20, you can summon/invade people between levels 13 - 27.
  14. I Had A Random Thought...

I was wondering the other day why bottled water has a sell by date, and why this is never a point of concern for people in post-apocalyptic movies/games.
  15. Idle Thumbs Spot The Difference

Got it! That last one took me ages to find!
  16. Beyond Good and Evil 2

Is it me, or does that just look like Assassin's creed with Jade? I'm probably going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that it's probably a test video to see how well the climbing system works in an early version of the assassin's creed engine, and they just used Jade's model because it was at hand. I would not like BG&E2 to be an AC rip
  17. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

A tiny request - Is it possible to make pressing Ctrl + Enter to post a reply, like in generic email clients? It's a really silly thing, I know.
  18. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

There's either a crystal or magic ember in the crystal caves (can't remember which) which requires you to navigate a very confusing invisible path past the hole where the 3 crystal lizards are, which is probably worth your time. Online is your friend here, as people write messages on the invisible walkways. Seath was a terrifying prospect when I first encountered him, but I do think he's one of the most beautiful looking bosses in the game, especially on the PC port.
  19. She? The lost sinner is a girl? Not that it's important, but I always assumed it was a guy. I thought it was the player in DaS1 who lit the primordial flame. How'd you find out? The main reason I'm burning out is mainly because of the loading times being long - sounds stupid, I know, but it becomes more and more off putting every time I die. It's the same reason why I stopped the MP side too. people quitting coz they're losing the fight, or just people killing themselves as soon as I'm summoned just makes me less enthused to help or sit through a loading screen of 40 secs to a minuet. I guess the PC version will fix that considerably.
  20. anime

I enjoyed Mekaku City Actors a lot. Love the glimpses into post-apocalyptic world, which I'll enjoy presumably seeing how that happens. It was very shaft, but I was OK with that. I was half hoping the Miku character to have Miku's voice, but I guess that wouldn't have flown with Yamaha. The main guy is pretty cocky for a fella who did fuck all, apart from plug his iPhone into a computer. He was lucky that the adaptor was there, if the owner of said PC had an android phone or iPhone 5, he would be fucked. Yes, Hunter x Hunter is flipping ace. Loving all of it, especially Killua's character development, which was great for a 'cool' character. I hope they focus on Gon now, I'm looking forward to seeing his development. Apparently fans are peeved by how Neferipitou is clearly a female. Apparently it was ambiguous in the manga, which I guess a lot of people liked? It's slowing down considerably though. There isn't much manga left to go on, and despite the mangaka's promise to finish the manga before the anime catches up, he's written like 10 chapters in 3 years now. I guess that's why this arc is dragging. Also it's just generally a long arc.
  21. Idle Thumbs Spot The Difference

done! EDIT: It's based off of Space Brothers! That manga/anime is great! Especially if you love space. Also if Ken Levine goes, Bioshock: Moon confirmed for 2015!
  22. anime

I haven't watched it, but I hear Spice and Wolf is basically political/economical stuff in fantasy land? It's pretty popular though, so maybe you've already watched it? I also watched the first episode of nobunaga the fool, which was terrible. Two worlds - one generic fantasy, one sci fi. Sci fi ship lands in fantasy world and turns into a mech. Explosions happen. I can't remember anything else. Yeah, thinking about it, that was pretty bad. I did drop the anime, but only coz I read the manga, went on holiday and cba to catch up. That sucks about Ping Pong, but damn if it isn't great. Pretty much everything I expected. Looking forward to the upcoming episodes. It saddens me to see so many people dismiss this anime as 'ugly' because it's not the staple 'anime' style. I love it for precisely that reason, as it makes it so unique. I hope that this anime takes off and we see more varying styles emerging. Or just more Masaaki Yuasa. Either way I was happy. Also watched JoJo: Stardust Crusaders. The first episode was a bit lame, but the second episode was great. Jotaro's conversations with his mother is hilarious, as well as pretty much all his interactions with anyone. He's so fucking cliche that it makes all his interactions hilarious. I wonder if he was cliche at the time it was written too, or whether it's just become cliche over time. It definitely felt that way about the first two arcs. Either way he's a fucking badass, and I love the constant change in colour pallets that happens in the fight with Kakyoin, it's great, and a definite nod to Hirohiko's crazy colouring style. Also the opening was fantastic. I had particular joy watching it about 4 times in a row afterwards to see all the little details that are in it. Let's hope we get an equally fantastic ending next episode too.
  23. They nerfed the Lost Sinner? Why? That boss was balls hard, but satisfying when defeated. I've gotten major fatigue of this game. So much that I can't bear myself to go back to it for longer than half an hour. I still have the PC version on pre-order, but thinking of cancelling it, as even with all the upgrades, I can't bring myself to get excited like I did Dark Souls. I am at the dragon place that's in the trailers. I know some peeps have finished it, how far is there to go?
  24. Recently completed video games

The thing I hate the most about anime fighting games based off a series is when you know that in the story, your character is going to lose this fight, yet you can't lose the fight. You have to win the fight in order to see a cut scene of you losing the fight you just won. It's the most infuriating and backwards thing ever. Why can't you just be able to continue the story regardless of the fights outcome? it's a continuous bugbear I have against fighting game stories. Blazblue does some cool stuff where you have to lose fights to get the best endings and stuff, but Blazblue is a rare example of a half decent story in fighting games. That and Skullgirls. Some endings are quite sweet, like Pinwheel's. Anyways, I finished Metroid Fusion last night! I have never finished a Metroid game before, even though I've gotten darn close before in both Prime and Metroid 2. It was good! Wasn't too long, and the computer made sure I knew what I was doing, unlike Super Metroid, where I was pretty stuck. Until I realised I could super bomb that glass walkway. I also would have never finished this game if it wasn't for the WiiU reminding me that I already owned Metroid Fusion on the 3DS thanks to the Ambassador Program, and that no matter how cheap it is, free is still cheaper. XD
  25. Lego is Still Cool

The first car looks like Jonny's from Redline Sweet!
