So far it's just on the 3DS. The online is in the 3DS version, so I don't see the need to have a WiiU version too. I also believe we are getting MH4U instead of just MH4, so we're waiting like an extra year whilst Japan revel in MH4 now.
-
Sure, online was MH3U's biggest selling point on the WiiU. Although it was neat, it felt very end game, as you pretty much had to complete the SP game before going to the port, in order to have a fighting chance of surviving. For someone getting into the series, the online MP would not be a major incentive over the portability of the 3DS version.

I know I have gotten about 200 odd hours out of Mon Hun 3, and that was a mix of SP and MP play. I think MH3 does a much better job at the SP, as it's a completely separate thing from the MP. It also has Cha-Cha and Kayamba who are adorable. As for the grind, it's not really that noticeable, as you grind to make better weapons and look more badass and stuff. The grind comes in late, and by that time it's really enjoyable to care. The grind is certainly better in MH3 than in previous installments. I think a lot of that time played owes to it being on my 3DS. Wouldn't say that the WiiU version is better though. Apart from the control scheme, online MP and prettier graphics, the game kinda lends itself to handheld a lot more. Wonderful 101 is a great game. I'd say probably pick that up, as it could fall quickly under the radar and you'll miss out on it. Pikmin 3 and WWHD are def certs to buy anyways, and are probably easier to get a hold of a physical copy.

I wonder if the problem with the writing lies with the translation? certainly anime tropes do not convert well, especially the "moe" ones. And it's even worse when it's in english dub. P4's dub is consistantly fantastic though, and the story was compelling enough for me to get through the game all the way to the final boss, but that last boss was too much of a tank to complete it. It also turns out I leveled the wrong people for the battle to be easier. I wouldn't say that the dissonance between gameplay and story is unique to just JRPG's. Certainly Bayonetta tells pretty much all it's story through cutscenes, same even with the new Wolfenstein game. I would say that it stands out more, as the gameplay in JRPG's are maybe not all that rewarding. Certainly Bravely makes an effort to change that up. Would Fire Emblem count as a JRPG? That game is pretty great too.

I love Moondog. One of his albums is called 'Pax Sax for a sax'. superb. Moon Dogg is Snoop Dogg's new name when he starts his Jazz career.
-
I think the problem with most JRPG's is that their stories lie too heavily in anime tropes to be accessible. That and they're too wordy/lore ridden at the beginning to care or be invested at all. Bravely Default is a great JRPG too, for what it's worth. I'll PM you the steam code

holy fuck. Does the WiiU even play Wii games? I hear Xenoblade is good. I have nothing to back it up apart from my friends recommendation. Your adamant hatred towards JRPG's reminded me - I have a spare copy of Half Minuet Hero, which is a pretty ace JRPG if you'd like to give it a go. I was going to mention it last time you ranted about P4 (which I really like :/) but forgot.

It's funny how people have changed their thoughts from 'oh I should buy x from GAME' to 'I should buy x from Tescos'. I guess this is another reason GAME is failing. That and it's overpriced and 9/10 times the staff are obnoxious knobs.

You can manually set the power by pulling back on the right stick, and then releasing said stick to thwack. Pretty satisfying. PC version of Dark Souls does have the excellent DLC, as well as various mods which makes the game run better. Although it does have GFWL.

This is strange. I also completed SteamWorld Dig, and yes, it's fantastic. I was hesitant to play it at first because I thought it'd be another Terraria/Minecraft clone, but it wasn't. It's fantastic. Probably won't play it again though.

Oh I disagree. This game works great with a controller. Really precise. But then again, I play everything with a controller, so I'm somewhat biased. I splashed out more than I thought I would this sale. Probably about £100, but that's because I got paid on Friday. Oh welp. The list is: Goat Simulator King of Fighters 13 Retro Game Crunch Next Car Game Payday 2 + DLC Killer Is Dead Walking Dead Season 1 Shadowrun Returns Astebreed Deadly Premonition Cloudbuilt Transistor Mercanary Kings Zeno Clash 2 ... Huh, more than I thought. Oh well :/ I'd say that Saint's Row pack will give you more bang for your buck, especially 3. Far Cry 3 is great, but Wolfenstein is far more memorable and better, methinks.

Move over Miku, Luka is where it's at: -
Also, does this include manga? (sorry for the double post)

Sounds good, I'm in. How are we going to do this for long running series? Just the first volume? I think the Criterion Club works particularly well because it's limited to a selection. Could we do the same to comics? Could I suggest nothing from DC/Marvel's super hero world? (Or at least, the well known stuff.)

I just finished this game! It's fantastic! Really loved pretty much everything. I really liked how funny the game is, without it being referential humor to NES-era games, which so many modern games of this ilk so easily and quickly do. Also you can complete the whole game with just the shovel. Sweet. I also got a 97% item collection, which was surprising. What does NG+ have to offer? Anything substantially different? Are there also alt endings and the like?

Yeah, the actual lyrics thing isn't that funny, but you can turn them off. Kinda feels like a cheap laugh, and maybe a bit harsh considering they're clearly not native English speakers. I think the video was co-directed by Garth Jennings too, who's a super successful Music video person. He's done things.... Can't remember what though. I was wrong about them being the loudest band. A quote from their 4th album's (Jet Generation) wikipedia article: Still pretty rad though. -

Glad to see the classic team back together, bar Jake Also, when was Danielle called Junior Mints? Why? I didn't even realise Junior Mints was a real thing until I saw Danielle's profile pic. -
Whenever I think about airline peanuts, I'm always reminded of that scene in Daredevil where Bullseye kills a snoring granny by flicking a peanut down her throat and suffocating her. That was such a shit film. Not rad at all.

I thought Hatsune Miku was opening for Lady Gaga? I am always surprised by how much Lady Gaga likes Japan. It feels like to me she's actually spent some time to understand and appreciate their culture instead of just being an idiot who thinks that ninjas are cool.

Guitar wolf is great! A pretty hilarious fella called Adam Buxton (From Adam and Joe) did a music video for Guitar Wolf's "Summer Time Blues". Check it: I believe they are the loudest band in the world? At least that's what a sticker on one of their albums said. And then advised not to listen on full volume, for health reasons. -
No, no, no, dear Bjorn, you've gotten it all wrong, what I believe you said was 'time travel'. There was no mention of a time machine. Time travel does not always require a device for which you need to travel back in time, as shown here in the wikipedia article for time travel: I put it to you that you could have easily traveled back in time without the means of a time machine! Your message could have easily been misinterpreted by the defendant thinking that you'd be merely reminiscing of when you yourself lived as a child of the 80's! If anything, I find not only your logic, but your claims to being a rad expert unfounded! But Rayman is still rad...
