  1. The Fanart Collective

Some more I found (Sorry for the Double post) This is actually a spoiler of solaire's story arc. But oh man I have never been so close to crying after it happened.
  2. The Fanart Collective

Totally shameless Ben. But also totally rad. Dark Souls has some great fanart, no?
  3. Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube

This has also probably been posted before, but it's definitely my favourite pingu-related thing. (that vid was amazing too, teg)

That game is also the best. for £3 it's up there with Nidhogg with how much fun you can have.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

So I don't know if anyone caught this, but there's leaked Deadpool footage knocking around the internet, and oh boy it's flipping sweet. I don't usually care for superheroes, but Deadpool is just the right level of crazy without feeling too forced or trying too hard to be 'hilarious' like a certain raccoon in a certain recent film (which I certainly haven't seen) http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x22eged_deadpool-test-footage-in-hd_video games
  6. Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube

This is why I love Japan: Also if we're talking about silly death metal, hate break should get a mention: The singer is a parrot.
  7. Manga Thread of Reading Comics Backwards

I have no problem with that. One Punch Man is a web comic series. Hetalia was also.

I love the sewaddle in the background. Damn that thing's adorable. Continuing the pokemon theme:

What? No way! I was totally fooled! Curse you internet!
  10. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

This is the latest leaked pokemon mega evolution. Whut.
  11. Nintendo 3DS

There is a new Ace Attourney game, subtitled Duel Destinies. It's really good - amusing throughout and had a nice twist at the end which I genuinely didn't see coming. There's also amazing DLC where you have to defend a killer whale in court. Pushmo isn't similar to 3D picross. There's picross e3 on the 3DS , but no 3D puzzles. The 3D for me is largely a fad, I never turn it on, but it does help in some games, like Starfox 3D. Pushmo kinda benifits to aim your jumps better, but that's about it. I prefer the 3DS over the 2DS for it's clamshell design, and my big fat hands fit a 3DS XL better. The small 3DS's corners tends to dig into my hands.

I'd assume it's the same reason as to why people donate more money to animal charities than human ones right? Something to do with feeling sorry for a defenceless animal, even if that animal can rip you to shreds in a second with its claws/fangs? Or something. I don't really know myself.
  13. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

If we're talking about adventure time, that particular mini-series was great. As well as the Fionna and Cake miniseries, but I find that the actual monthly series is pretty rubbish. I find it to generally to be not that well written and kinda unoriginal. There are certain parts which are great, like when Ice King goes dungeon exploring with Finn and Jake, but for the larger part, it feels to me inconsequential to the TV show. The AT universe is pretty great, where anything can happen, but the comics feel like filler. Idk. I just got bored of it I'm starting to feel that way with the Bravest Warriors comic too.
  14. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Flippin Excellent. My favorite comic of late.
  15. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Ugh Fuck. I accidentally purchased a game on the PS store that I can't really afford. Is there any way the PS Network store gives refunds or should I just be grateful payday's coming soon?
  16. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

If you have DaS2, I'd suggest playing that first. It's a much smoother learning curve and will nicely prepare you for it's bigger, better, older brother. Also There's no prior knowledge needed of the previous series. Which is cool. It's still not as good as DaS though. Well, apart from the monthly PS+ fee. Which I'm paying anyways, so I guess I'm getting a Vita sometime soon. It's also looking somewhat affordable.
  17. anime

Glad you liked Baccano! May I suggest then Durarara!! It's written by the same author, set in the same universe (kinda) and has an awesome Isaac and Miria bonus episode! And it's on hulu! http://www.hulu.com/durarara

So after watching the first three episodes of Persona 4 Golden: The Animation, it's made me really want a PS Vita, just so I can play P4 again. Is there anything else that's good on the system? So far the list of great games on the system that I know of are: Danganronpa 1&2, Tearaway, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice (I actually know nothing of this game, is it good? All I know is that it was advertised up the butt) and God Eater? Is that on the Vita?
  19. anime

I met someone on graduation day who's not only watched all of bleach, but likes it and is watching it again. Da fuk. My opinion of him lowered greatly. I think I got as far as those 3 puppets popping up, and I stopped. So anyone watched any anime this season? Zankyou no Terror is great, along with Tokyo Ghoul, Barakamon, Sailor Moon Crystal, P4 and Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun. I know, it's total bullshit. There's an OVA floating around (sadly not on CR) that's pretty ace. I think the budget just ran out. But don't worry! It'll be back next season!

I'm putting my vote in for "Lords Management"
  21. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

For what it's worth, Saga is fantastic. I got the first 2 volumes in a humble bundle sale a while back, and as soon as I read them, I bought the third volume. Now I'm getting the monthly issues. It's so, so, good.
  22. Life

I really like the Japanese phrase "Kantan no ayumi" (邯鄲の歩み). Partly because it's a phrase I have only ever heard been used once, and partly because the translation is even more baffling, to a point I don't really understand it myself: After more searching, it turns out that this is a reference to a Chinese folk tale where a young man tries to integrate himself into a fabled city of wealth called Kantan, where upon he failed to do so within the community in Kantan, gave up and returned home, only to find he... forgot how to walk? To be honest, even I'm not sure on that part. I guess it's more talking about the swagger or air of walking that's so radically different in Kantan he forgot how to walk normally. I guess the closest interpretation is something along the lines of someone acting as someone they're not, whether it be wealth or status and the phrase would be used to call out that guy's eventual ruin?
  23. Quantized Roguelike Chess Dancing: Crypt of the Necrodancer

Ahh right that explains a lot. Thanks! I'm not good enough for the glass equipment yet. It always tends to break, and then I'm running about unarmed struggling to get to my weapon. So I met the conga boss today, which instantly kicked my ass, but never-the-less was a load of fun. The reason why I bring it up is because in that boss, the beat changes periodically, and that's what killed me. Knowing this, I'm excited to go back and try to kill that mother. Although, I have yet to get to that mother since. Also fuck the red dragon. Seriously. So many games have ended my me hearing a rumble and seeing a red dragon is homing in on my ass. My glee of managing to avoid his one-shot fireball attack is then shattered by getting my face clawed off in the next attack. Also also, my new favorite tactic is to bomb a corner of the shop, as each of those shop walls drop 10 gold.
  24. This is a tiny thing, but on the front page of Idle Thumbs, the title of the podcast bleeds into the small text below it. Excellent pod though, made me laugh. I got dragon's crown. I didn't think the art would bother me, but I was surprised by the extent of jiggle in the female characters. Still a good game, regardless of anything else. I should really finish that game.
  25. Manga Thread of Reading Comics Backwards

The anime for Tokyo Ghoul has just started. I assume that's why every scanlation and his dog is jumping on it. It's shaping up to be a pretty popular show, if not just a popular show this season. I'm certainly enjoying it. Although it's so stupidly heavily censored, it's annoying. Especially as it's aired at like 2 in the morning. Oh well. Ryuushika looks adorable. I'll have to check it out. If you haven't read it, Yotsuba! feels like it's in a similar vein and is equal parts cute, heart-warming and hilarious. One shonen manga that I'm loving right now is Assassination Classroom. It's about an alien who's destroyed the moon, and threatens to destroy the earth in a year, unless a class of students can assassinate him before the end of that year. On top of which, the alien is their teacher. It's a pretty high concept, but it works, and it's flippin' ace. It's slowly creeping in the emotional attachment the students have with the alien (who's called koro-sensei - koro means 'kill' in japanese I think.) and I look forward to the time they finally off him, and the emotional baggage that'll bring. It's also really really funny. The other manga I love is One Punch Man. About a guy who kills everything in one punch. It's again a nice mix of action and comedy. Also, as it's a web comic, it's got some insane chapters where it's just all art, showing off some awesome fight or something. And boy does the art look good. This gif is amazing - it's of a single chapter. The only thing the guy did was put them together sequentially. Oh man there's a couple more:
