I hate to be 'that guy', but I really didn't enjoy Hammerwatch. It might not have 'clicked' with me, but I found the whole experience really dull and flat. Even when I played it with a friend, I found it to be pretty dull, the general gameplay routine of crowd control and then attacking the next biggest target got stale quickly. I also really dislike the 'but it's so much better with a friend' argument. Everything is better with a friend, even Boarderlands. Doing things with friends is always going to be enjoyable to some degree. How it stands up as a single player experience is more important, I think. And it doesn't stand up well at all.

I think there's one more episode to go. It must be over now damn I really like this series. The second season is a lot better than the first. The second to last episode delved into Dandy's past, and was quite touching I thought. Watch Princess Jellyfish! Then read the manga! I think this is the problem with anime adaptions from manga, especially ongoing ones, is whether it gets an 'original anime ending' or not. I don't know how it's decided, I guess popularity of the first volume of the DVD/Blu-ray sales are their indication, and then they get either an original anime ending which crappily ties up all the loose ends (like princess jellyfish), or just ends on a cliffhanger. This is all speculation, but I really do dislike it. Especially in the case of Princess Jellyfish, as the manga goes into really interesting places that I haven't read about before. :/ Is anyone watching Tokyo Ghoul? I can't really make my mind up about it. I have no emotional attachment to anyone, and I don't really care about what happens. It feels pretty routine I guess. The worst thing in it is the insufferable crazy androgynous cop who's 'awesome' but 'wacky' and 'so keraaazy'. It's so fucking awful and his scenes just make me want to die. There are good examples of chaotic characters, and this one is just so fucking tropey it drives me mad. And then it tries just way too hard to make him original, but really he's doing exactly the same thing that that character trope does. I guess a good example of this kinda character is Gintoki? Or Hisoka? (Hisoka is actually one of my favourite characters in anything. Fucking hell he's an amazing bad guy.) Also is anyone interested in anything in the next season? I'm really looking forward to The Seven Deadly Sins. The manga is ace, and the trails looks like this is going to be amazing. Again I just hope it's not going to get an original anime ending, coz that'd be rubbish. The manga has only revealed 4 of the cast of 7! (The Seven Deadly sins are 7 extraordinarily talented warriors who were framed(?)(It's not revealed in the manga what actually happens) for killing the king, and then disbanded, Melodias is the main protagonist, and he's the leader of the 7 deadly sins.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqkE3x3AyVs

I was under the impression that Haruhi's demise was more brought about by the seiyuu of Haruhi (Aya Hirano? I think) being caught in a huge scandal because she had sex with her band mates. Idol's having a relationship or sex is tantamount to treason in the eyes of their fans, (Like that AKB Head-shaving incident last year) so that meant there were people burning haruhi related goods for no real reason, tarnishing the series. Likewise I guess having another season of Haruhi would be hard without the main seiyuu. Having her take part in it is probably not going to please the fans, and this all just shows how mental Japan's idol culture is. I'm guessing the Nagato spin-off is happening because it's going to have little to no Haruhi in it. I guess this confirms my theory? idk. Zankyou no Terror and Suisei no gargantia are both original anime over the last year or 2 that are pretty good.

It is possible to just buy the second one, at least in the UK it is, so maybe that's why? I'm guessing they'll be more clear about it later? So am I man, So am I.

Is that the one where you get both bayonetta 1 + 2, or the First press edition? Because I was under the impression the First press edition was exclusive to game. I'd be pissed off if that wasn't the case, as I hate giving money to game (which I'm doing because of the FPE, as I'm a mug). either way it's too late to change, as the FPE on Amazon is selling for a cool £150. No biggie guys. The way they worded the email I got about this sounded like you just needed to put it in your basket, not even buy it. I guess it's not too late to try now? I was also under the impression that it wasn't all the skins, just a subset (I think the OoT ones). I couldn't say if it's a genuine exclusive or a timed one. :/ Talking of Hyrule Warriors, it came in the post yesterday! Initial impressions are that it's good fun (as opposed to bad fun). I like the way bosses have weaknesses that you can exploit (and in some cases have to), as it makes the rather tedious battle system of Dynasty Warriors more interesting. Also seeing characters from the previous games (like sheik and the great fairy from OoT) re-modelled is awesome, as they look the same, but better (if that makes sense). The two problems with the game so far is that the game requires some knowledge of previous zelda games to find out the boss weaknesses, which might be a problem for newcomers to the series. The other one is the voice over that bookends every battle, as it just feels weird in a zelda game.

This is a weird thing, AKB48 (The mega-idol pop sensation in Japan) has an arcade game where you shoot them as zombies. There are also thriller-esq music rhythm sections where the zombie AKB members dance. And then you have to presumably shoot them in the face. Weird.

The trailer is amazing. I'm super psyched for this game. I'm saddened though that I have to wait 2 months. In my head it was only one. I'm also amazed that this game has been hovering between 1st-5th places in the steam charts. CRAZY! There's also a PAX co-op playthrough video which features the most irritating man in the world, and the developer who slowly gets more tired with his inane bullshit: The reward for putting up with the annoying guy is that you get to see some really nice co-op tactics and tricks, as well as some new items and the like. If you can't put up with him, there's a more charming co-op featuring Edmund and Danielle (his wife): Super pumped for this game.

Guys, I was really unsure about getting Smash Brothers, but now I see that AKB48's Mii's are in a promo for it, I'm completely sold. Nintendo do weird things? Although this trailer will probably get more people buying it than anything else they've put out (in Japan, at least). Who's your favourite member of AKB48 guys? Mine's the one on the left.

Yeah, the lady looks so uncomfortable at the beginning, blinking like a madman. But when they played coop together she looked a lot more relaxed. I was a bit confused by the Co-op element actually. I couldn't tell whether the game was an online coop deal, or just a CPU playing with you, which dies when the other person dies. If that makes sense.

If i recall correctly, there is 2 upgrades you can buy, a spring and a jelly transformation. The jelly is for parrying, the spring is for dodging. the dodging is a bit harder, you have to dodge really early. Also transforming everyone into a weapon makes things easier to manage. The spring is probably unlocked when you start, but I think you can upgrade it to either jump furthur or be able to roll into a ball? It's been a while.

for what it's worth, xenoblade is bundled with every new 'New nintendo 3DS'. fucking stupid naming conventions you got going on, Nintendo.

Congratulations Mington! A friend of a friend got married recently, and had a steam punk wedding in a destroyed church. And it looked so fucking awesome. Usually I don't care for wedding pictures, but this one looked like a lot of fun, and they looked classy as well as bad-ass and fun. I would post a picture, but they'd probably not want me to. Personally I'm up for marriage, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to marry my current gf, but I have no idea how to get a ring and shit. Or how to pay for it :/

Re #2 - I didn't even know the 2DS sound was in mono. From a quick google, it states that plugging in headphones puts it in stereo. Re #3 - It's a nicely sturdy piece of kit. I think that the screens are the most prone thing to break, especially the bottom touch screen, which didn't feel like it was especially reinforced. I think it also comes with a case (or you can buy a case for cheap) which is a good shock absorber. certainly my 3DS XL has been dropped down one too many staircases in it's lifetime and it's survived. The biggest annoyance is that dropping it can sometimes cause the SD card to pop out, and I lose progress on my game (80% of all my games are played on the SD card for me nowadays). The 2DS will survive being stepped on I think.

Actually I believe they're ghosts. Also this trailer is incredible. Did anyone else notice the wedding ring? That was a nice touch that added a lot to your character.
