  1. Diablo III

I am excited to be back into this game, I hit Paragon 10 with a Wizaaaard on 360 but am digging my female witch doctor on PC so far
  2. "Most anticipated game of 2015" -ign.com Loll I almost died when I read that and (metaphorically) sprinted to this thread. Now this is definitely a first day perch.
  3. Shadowrun Kickstarter

I thought I was close to the end of this game based on some Video game Hotdog podcast comments but I keep getting surprised by new wrinkles. I am currently investigating a three-story building. I still like the story beats quite a bit but the combat is almost too hard for me. I have my whole team just run around with medkits to the degree you can customize them. (Brought these comments over from the recently completed thread btw)
  4. Diablo III BattleTags

Point taken, Amelie. I set up both a Clan and Community for the Americas. IT does look nice as a tag, good call Europans Both are meant to be open so if I screwed that up somehow just let me know
  5. Diablo III BattleTags

I am also struggling to find the Idle Thumbs community (Americas / Normal)
  6. Titanfall

CTF really is by far the most fun mode to me, because it emphasizes traversal and channelizes the fighting
  7. General Video Game Deals Thread

Diablo 3 is $20 off right now (50%)
  8. Other podcasts

FYI the Besties stopped recently Edit: I guess that's not exactly right, they're just doing one per month On topic, I struggle to find consistently good podcasts but I enjoy the Not A Game podcast, I appreciate that most episodes have two women hosts and two men
  9. Grim Dawn

I picked this up on sale on Steam, it's still in Alpha but I am finding it pretty fun and the devs say it is 2/3 there
  10. Just now preordered on Steam -- yeah I used to have a 360 and PS 3
  11. Poetry suggestions

I like Abdul Wahhab al-Bayati, an Iraqi writer. I think his only English translation is pretty darn good (Love, Death and Exile) Otherwise just the standards written above. Random sad poetry story: I have never cared much for Frost but my grandmother really liked him. She couldn't talk when she was on her deathbed so I just read her Frost poems on the afternoon before the day she died. It seemed like it helped her some so the guy can't be all bad.
  12. GTA V

I hear you guys and again I don't think you are monsters but as previously stated I just don't "buy" that GTA V was at all thoughtful about this stuff. I can see how you disagree or it doesn't bother you but I just found it distasteful and lacking in the sort of redemptive or instructive ways you guys are talking about. Also I really don't think there are many people who do nasty shit on the scale or frequency that Trevor does, making me really wonder even if you are right that a game like this can make us understand them -- so what? If a certain amount of sadism and sociopathy is baked into human nature and we can't do anything about it then I don't really understand the value of exploring it. I personally don't think "empathy for soiopaths" is really something worth trying for unless it is somehow expanded in the direction "empathy for sociopaths in some way that lets us put a stop to them." Sorry not sure I am adding much, just all these months later I wish I wasn't so out off by this because I really enjoyed a lot of the rest of this game.
  13. GTA V

Sure obviously that's ok. I am just arguing that people on the other side are also not being crazy since the previous GTAs don't go as far as Trevor (in some way that makes hooker killing less repulsive???)
  14. GTA V

I don't agree that playing a GTA game necessarily means signing up for the mean spirited shitfest that I found GTA V to be. Maybe it's fuzzy memory but I found GTA IV much less nasty and thought Vice City wasn't anything like this game in terms of just pure MEAN. Again I am perfectly willing to hear that I am just misremembering the older games but I just don't remember anything turning my stomach like Trevor does. Edit: damn I hate posting on a phone
  15. GTA V

Well to be fair, later on in life I felt like diagramming sentences in English led me to understand our grammar in a way that made learning other languages much easier. But that is probably an edge case scenario.
  16. Shadowrun Kickstarter

I am five or six hours into this (Dragonfall) and so far I really enjoy the writing. Is the original campaign also this good?
  17. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

    Haha hilarious.
  18. I Can't Go For That (Game Series)

I hate the Drake games for the same reason I hate the MGS games: third person wonky cam is the second most hated thing for me behind long boring cut scenes
  19. Escapist and Genre Fiction is not a bad thing.

I strongly agree with the premise of this thread. Personally my job is extremely heavy on thinking / analytics so I strongly prefer to read genre fiction and just sink into the worlds of everything from Dresden to Drizzt, so long as it's not too much like the real world I spend all day thinking about
  20. Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

Any thoughts on the new nVidia tech? I am talking about the GTX 750 ti stuff. I have been thinking about upgrading my PSU and GPU to something nicer but anything lower watt is appealing to me.
  21. General Video Game Deals Thread

This current Humble Bundle caught me up on tons of stuff I have been wanting to pick up, I think most of you guys probably already have all these though
  22. Thi4f

+1 I also announce my state at all timesWell, on second thought, only during sex.
  23. Goofy Request

    Only on the inside
  24. ObjectiveGameReviews.com - A Subtle Journey of Discovery

    Hilarious both times!
  25. Shadowrun Kickstarter

As a first-time player I messed with that first campaign a little and was nonplussed. I am not super deep into it but I felt the first hour or so of the DLC was much cooler in terms of story and art direction. Also the decisions I made when talking felt like they had a lot of heft that I didn't perceive right off the bat in the first campaign although like I said I didn't play a butt ton of either. Also yes: you def have to buy both. Ran me about $30 total with the original game on sale in Steam the other day.
