Me too so if you're dumb at least you're not alone. I'm not saying the game shouldn't have secrets but I dislike the handful of times I couldn't progress without google. I don't need my Hand held but things like what to do about those vines - maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything at all in the game itself to indicate that. This is one of the few things I think was better in Dark Souls 1; for the most part the inscrutable bits were not on the critical path (like the memories). The other time I got stumped was pulling the ring in No Mans Wharf, which I didn't see, but I admit that is a little different.

Yeah those were the specific thing we were talking about. I also was thinking about the assassination missions and the women at the shrine of Amana. I missed all of those until I wikied.

So I have been mopping up before NG+ and FuryBoy and I were discussing how there is just no way you could expect someone playing blind to find most of these things.

I beat Dark Souls 2 and am debating the NG+ ... 80 hours in a couple months makes this one of my favorite games of all time ...

I literally missed the entire wing of the game past the fog forest (into Bright Cove) so don't feel too bad. I sort of think I maybe missed a chunk of the Lost Bastille somehow too.

I am internally debating trying to fight through that Dark clan to try to get the sweet Dragon Chime before NG+ but ... 1. I hate dark looking zones and 2. I am terrible at this game so maybe I am not even good enough to get through that clan's ranks Edit: wiki says you can also just kill Bumdiver Darkballs or whatever and get it that way. Whelp it was good knowin you dude, time to rack up my first point of sin!

We would have to figure out if it's possible, I am at the obscenely high SM 2.72m but if you're in the same band I am game for buying the name engraved ring and tryin to meet up. Just wanted to mention that I LOVE these end-game areas. I don't think it's too spoilery to specify that I really dig the zone after the big door in the woods that you open with the King's Ring. Also I am having fun with my modified build, I am rolling with a chime in my left hand throwing lightnings and a Greatsword in my right. I can't hang in PvP at all but I am basically wrecking in PvE, now.

Pure melee sounds super tough, but I am not very good at this game. I am having a lot of fun at the Shrine of Amana, co opping like crazy. I get invaded constantly (in NG somewhere around SM 2.2m). Some of the invaders have had super clever (and annoying) positioning, which I didn't previously notice. For example the distance between the first and second bonfires in that zone is far enough where one guy would kill me near the second one, then I had to fight all that way again -- just as the timer ran out and the dude is killing me once more. I will say, I think invaders are ok when they actually fight you on similar terms - eg, using a setup that somewhat resembles a PvE setup - but they're basically just griefers most of the time and are running poison and other shit that people PvEing are just not going to be geared against. It makes me feel not super bad to die in those circumstances but I sort of wish I could swap my gear out and then revenge invade them back and see how it goes. Maybe when I get to NG+ I can try to invader bait a little more but I am still trying to play mostly blind. As a result I am wearing a lot of the more cautious stuff so that when the cyclops comes storming up out of nowhere I have a chance to survive. In my case that means medium armors mostly. I liked RPing Havel in the last game but I see that set so much that I don't even want to pick it up.

@Bjorn yes probably, I will sometimes click on the IT Steam group and invite people whose names I recognize from here. That's a bummer about NG+ and invasions, I have had some recent fun experiences. Right now I am keeping two Caestuses equipped in slot 2 so I can power stance in PvP when I get invaded. It usually doesn't work out great for me due to suckiness, but is pretty fun and sometimes you can tell the other person is weirded out which makes me laugh.

I share this concern and agree he seemed like the one who really liked new video games as opposed to almost everyone on that cast. To be fair most Video game podcasts are quasi that way.

I am much happier now that I am to the castle. I was so over leveled for Bright Cove that I couldn't really get much co op action. I respect folks who play through this alone, but to me the real joy of the PvE in this game is the co op. In particular when things go all wrong and suddenly you accidentally aggroed eay too many enemies plus got invaded and somehow pull it out - or hell, even going down in a blaze of glory!

I loved Risen but I found the x360 version of Risen 2 broken / unplayable Edit to explain: Dodge and Block were both inexplicably left out of the Risen 2 x360 port and they chose not to patch them in. I found that eventually the game was just unplayable without those, they were key parts of my Risen gameplay. Also: w t f
