  1. Then how do you explain Donkey Kong being unplayable in Donkey Kong Country 2 & 3? In fact, isn't he the damsel?
  2. With Donkey Kong it's not really that hard to imagine. Dixie Kong was already the star of Donkey Kong Country 3.
  3. I guess my mind went to a dark place because I was thinking of another game he worked on: SWAT 4.
  4. New people: Read this, say hi.

This sounds very familiar. Oh, forgot to say hi. "Hi."
  5. Wait? You like that he implies Ken Levine is a murderer?
  6. Spelunky!

    Try a bomb jump!
  7. Remember how Blow wrote a guide for Braid that instructed people not to look at a guide? I'm guessing there won't be a hint system. As for skipping puzzles, you can just walk to a different part of the island, can't you? Speaking of guides, I didn't use one to look for solutions, but I did look up the location of all but a couple stars. I wonder if Blow would count that as cheating?
  8. Is it cleverly named after the number of people who worked on the game, or did they not also feel the need to copy that?
  9. Bioshock Finite: Irrational Games shuts down

Funny you should say that. Saw this on GAF:
  10. Bioshock Finite: Irrational Games shuts down

Why are people assuming Ken has the power to fire that many people? And even if he did (he doesn't), Take-Two could just hire 'em all back... if they wanted to (read: if Bioshock had sold more).
  11. Feminism

When there is no distinction between the way you talk about women and the the way a misogynist talks about women... some introspection might be in order. It's certainly interesting that a free-to-play game that's, at least presumably, going to have micro-transactions in the form of player customization is omitting female characters. That said, I can't take this writer seriously. She reprimanded people for not spending their money on a game (DmC) they didn't want to play.
  12. This is off-topic, but it's annoying how some people say Braid is pretentious without providing even the semblance of an argument as to why they think that.
  13. Dota Today 10: Dunkin' Bro-nuts

I'm not convinced that Sean has ever played Dota. He keeps referring to the heroes in a weird way.
  14. I think this is the first time "Snow" wasn't taken. Oh, Doppelganger. There's an idea for an avatar.
  15. I've always felt that the stories in Braid were there to set the ambiguous tone of the worlds. Anyway, keep up the good work. Both of you, that is.
  16. Yeah... "...I like to argue for the sake of it, which probably isn't a good thing on a topic that people are fired up about." No kidding, apparently.
  17. The shocking thing is that I didn't get the sense that Nick felt strongly about what he was saying. It was just... stuff he read that he was sharing.
  18. Spelunky!

It's a shame that not every achievement made its into the Vita version. Would've been good training (easier than beating Yama, but harder than Olmec).
  19. PS Vita

Player One Podcast was praising the Deception games. I think Trapt, a PS2 classic which released a few days ago, is part of that series.
  20. PS Vita

So I've read: http://www.minotaurproject.co.uk/devblog/?p=74 Having not yet played it, I don't know which side of the divide I'd fall into. While playing TxK's bonus round, if there's one thing that woman's erotic moaning mixed with animal noises has taught me, it's to be more open-minded of...of... I can't finish the joke.
  21. Souls... I mean Lords of the Fallen

Boss appears to be dancing every time he twirls with his sword. Am I the only one seeing that?
  22. PS Vita

TxK might be... my favorite Vita game. Here's the soundtrack for people trying to decide if they should buy it: http://txk-ost.bandcamp.com/album/txk-the-original-soundtrack I regret not giving Space Giraffe a shot. With a name like Space Giraffe, can you blame me?
  23. Half of what Mattie writes just goes over my (head) and what often resonates with me is tangential to her main point. Oh well, I enjoy her work... even if I'm not the ideal reader.
  24. New people: Read this, say hi.

Alright, fine! Have it your way! You've convinced me to participate! Um, hi. I started listening to Idle Thumbs about a month before you "came back," although I never knew you'd gone. Lucky. Hope I can be a nice addition.
