  1. Cookie Clicker

I just got the achievement "You Can Stop Now". You can't fool me, Cookie Clicker. This must be when things get good! I won't stop now!
  2. Cookie Clicker

So... many... cookies... can't stop... Must get... 100 of every building....
  3. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Ah, well I feel a bit better with the knowledge that someone else has the same problem. I didn't think of closing and opening the DS, so I'll give that a shot next time. Unfortunately while it did happen at the 3rd flying portion, I was low on health and the hits killed me, so I didn't finish the battle. And by that point it was 3 AM and I was frustrated, so I just turned the game off and haven't picked up my 3DS since then.
  4. The Wire

So, for the last 2 weeks or so I haven't had any internet access and was digging through the folders on my hard drive looking for something to watch. And that's when I realized I had 5 seasons of The Wire that I had not even begun watching. Now I am halfway through Season 4. Its a great show, guys. I love it.
  5. Life

Well. I just moved to a different city, and into an apartment with my sister last week. Just got an internet connection set up yesterday. Now looking for work here (hopefully it will be easier than looking for work in Ottawa was...)
  6. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

I was having a grand old time playing this game for the past week or so. And then I hit a problem. Kind of a big problem. I was fighting a boss, one of the giant fights (I won't say who its against, to avoid possible spoilers, as I'm pretty far into the game). And then, there's a point where you need to avoid the boss's attack by tilting the 3DS to move out of the way. ...well, for whatever reason, Luigi got locked down in the bottom-left corner of the screen. I could get him to move right if I turned my 3DS upside down, but other than that I could no longer move him, at all. I died shortly thereafter. I think the gyro thingy in my 3DS is busted (or getting busted). Other than that one problem, I love this game.
  7. Cookie Clicker

Whyyyy do I always spend so much time on these games? Why are there so many? Gah... gotta go click some cookies.
  8. I think you guys might enjoy "Thug Notes".
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

Oooh, I see. Well, at the very leasty I am open to eBooks and at least up to modern technology standards. ...though I don't have a driver's license... Maybe I should start writing again, maybe I'll become as well known as Bradbury.
  10. Fire Emblem Awakening

Well, for DLC maps... From what I heard from one of my roommates, one of the DLC maps is basically just a grinding map, where you can walk in and attack stuff that doesnt move around or react to you, so you can level up. So if that sounds like something that would be fun to you, DLC maps might be your thing. (This is all stuff I remember from conversations a while ago, so I might or might not be correct.)
  11. I Had A Random Thought...

What did Ray Bradbury do? I know of some of his work, but I know nothing about the author himself. And that phone looks awesome.
  12. I Had A Random Thought...

I have now moved onto a bottle of "Black Creek Pumpkin Ale". I should have started with this one, I think the strong, spicy flavour from the ginger beer is affecting my ability to notice any subtle flavours that might be present here. Instead it just tastes like a generic beer to me.
  13. I Had A Random Thought...

Right now I have a deliciously spicy bottle of "Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer". Its good. I might try to check out that Red Bison stuff, sounds good.
  14. I Had A Random Thought...

I too dislike the look of cars from the 90s. I also recently came to the realization that I really don't like change. I held out for years and years against getting any kind of cell phone. And now I wish I was still using my old Motorola Razr, and not this smartphone, because I don't like the touchscreen or being unable to flip it closed. I still use a Hotmail email (despite having a Gmail account) more because I'm used to it than any other reason. Every generation of consoles I complain that we don't need to keep improving graphics, they're fine where they are (since the PS2 era, anyways). I still don't own an HDTV. I just feel like I'm some kind of backwards person in regards to technology, some kind of ancient fossil stuck in a 22 year old body. I'm afraid that I am going to lose all the things I'm interested in because I don't like the apparent progress of technology. Also, I apologize if this seems rambling or whatever, I've been drinking some AMAZING alcoholic ginger beer.
  15. Nintendo 3DS

Wow, it's actually smaller than I expected. I've come to accept that I am not the target for this device.
  16. I Had A Random Thought...

    Well... that explains a lot.
  17. Discworld

Ah, I had no idea he had Alzheimers. Reading that page just made me feel really sad.
  18. Based on all these safety videos, I have come to the conclusion that pallets are one of the most dangerous things on Earth.
  19. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

The only mobile games I've found that work are slower paced, mainly puzzle games, where I have time to think about where Im going to put my finger on the screen before I cover half of it with my hand.
  20. Recently completed video games

The only people who stay dead in Fire Emblem are the ones on your side who died by your incompetence.
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

IIRC, only the Japanese Famicom had a mic, and the NES itself never did. From what I remember, one of the enemies in the original Legend of Zelda could be defeated using the mic, but it needed to be changed for the American version.
  22. Nintendo 3DS

I just don't like having an exposed screen. Its why I don't like smartphones, its why I was so jealous when my sister got a GBA SP. I just prefer being able to fold it up and protect the screens, so this just does not appeal to me at all. (On the other hand, I'll be fair, its not exactly aimed at someone like me, so...)
  23. Nintendo 3DS

I think part of the confusion with all the Nintendo iterations is that other consoles don't labour on the fact that the different versions are so different. The PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, etc? You basically wouldn't know until you checked the serial number. The XBox versions? Still XBox360, just different versions. But with Nintendo... every iteration is some BIG NEW THING. (But it still runs all the same stuff... except when its actually something new, like the Wii U...)
  24. Movie/TV recommendations

...does anyone else remember the TV show "MXC" (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge)? It was a dubbed version of a Japanese game show ('Takeshi's Castle', I believe? Similar to the modern day "Wipeout") But all the dubbing was insane, inappropriate and dirty. And as a kid... it was hilarious. Its still pretty funny. And I found that there are a bunch of full episodes on YouTube, so I've been watching those.
  25. Movie/TV recommendations

I love Mel Brooks movies (well, the ones I've seen anyways). Men in Tights is probably the movie I've watched the most times over the course of my life, definitely more then 20 times. (Looking back, I have no idea why my parents let me watch that movie as a little kid...)
