How about we all just try to agree that any average degree is worth more than something from one of those colleges that advertise on late-night-TV.
-
Honestly, you're probably not the only one with a name like that. It seems to be a pretty common "funny" thing to do in Pokemon, giving highly inappropriate names to players or Pokemon alike. (Like naming a Metapod "Penis", resulting in entertainment from "Penis used Harden!")

Well, I can't say for sure 100%, but if you got hit with the move... Encore, I believe? It causes you to use an attack again, I think. Also... Rage, maybe? There's a move where your guy keeps doing it (or I think there is... it's been a while since I've really been into it, but I seem to remember a move that worked that way.) Those seem like the most likely cases, unless you really did get some kind of bizarre bug from a messed up download.

Well, you have to go with the very first Treehouse of Horror, of course. It has my absolute favorite reading of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven", and guest star James Earl Jones. Next, I recommend the Treehouse of Horror V, my personal favorite overall, with "The Shinning", "Nightmare Cafeteria", and "Time and Punishment". Treehouse of Horror VI is also amazing, with "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace" and "Attack of the 50-Foot Eyesores". Treehouse of Horror X had the enjoyable "Desperately Xeeking Xena", in which Bart and Lisa are turned into superheros Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl, and face off against a supervillain version of Comic Book Guy. Those are my favorites off the top of my head.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
Ucantalas replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
Those are the most useless subtitles I have ever seen in a video. -
Being a Baron named Baron is a pretty good place to be in the world.

Congratulations Baron Baron!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to throw out a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (especially the other Canadians here who actually have Thanksgiving today, as opposed to Americans who celebrate next month...) So come, talk about turkey and pumpkin pie and pilgrims and what you're thankful for!
-
Ah. Turkey's the usual Thanksgiving meal around my place, so I just sort of assumed... I really need to stop doing that so much.
-
If it makes you feel any better, Thanksgiving dinner this year was... not as Thanksgiving-y as I had expected.. Ended up eating sausage, sauerkraut, rotkohl, and Knödel. Not bad, but it ain't turkey.

Don't worry, that's just marketing talk for "The developers added a random number somewhere in the code."

The Dark Mod - Free standalone stealth game (not a mod!)
Ucantalas replied to Security_Tubbs's topic in Video Gaming
Hm, I've never played the Thief games, but I enjoy stealth games in general... I think I will probably check it out, and come back here with my findings. -
I'm thankful for all of the wonderful people I can talk to online, because being an introverted person in a new city is one of the loneliest things ever. So thanks for all of you! (I'm also thankful for my sister pulling the guts out of the turkey because I do not have the stomach for that type of thing....)

Tipping is... a weird issue, for me. I was brought up thinking that 15% was a basic tip (service was fine, nothing bad happened). You would increase if it was really good service (...or if you felt bad for the server. Occasionally I've tipped extra when my food was bad because the server was clearly upset about something they had no control over...) But if the service was really bad, I was always told it was fine to walk out without a tip if it was really bad. Apparently this is frowned upon, even if the service is awful, but I don't feel I should tip if the person isn't doing their job. (I want to stress this is for extreme cases. If I wait for half an hour to order, and I can see my server standing around playing with their phone... their tip is slipping away) My big exception is... drivers. Taxis or delivery guys I always tip well. I don't know why, I just feel like its really tough driving around cities all day. So tipping always makes me feel like some kind of jerk or a hypocrite..

Awesome TED Talks (and similar enlightening lectures)
Ucantalas replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Idle Banter
I don't know if TED talks are "lying", per se. Sure, they're not necessarily always immediately usable in real life situations or applicable to all individuals (but again, what things are?). Like Rodi said, they're really more of an inspirational show, something to help people try and achieve more and be the best they can be. Also, it's not like the article even goes on to explain how it's a lie, just that the author presumed advice was meant for a certain audience when it was meant for a different one. I'd hardly call that a lie. (But then that's just me complaining about petty stuff.) It was still an interesting read, so thanks for posting it. -
Would anyone care for a copy of "Age of Booty" on Steam? EDIT: Offer no longer available, sorry.

I've never played any Pokemon game competitively, so the whole post-game team building and EV training and breeding was never something I did. I always only played until I defeated the Elite Four. (And then, if there was anything new afterwards I'd do that, like in Black 2 there were still like 3 cities or so I hadn't even visited by that point.) Now, instead of training competitively, I'm just trying to get my Magikarp in Black 2 (nicknamed "Death") to lvl 100 without evolving him, because... funny. Also, I always always always nickname every single Pokemon I get. Always. I never really did the HM slave thing, either. I would always spread my HMs around. I dunno, I just wanted to have everyone on my team be useful in more than one way, I guess? I don't know, but the idea of using one pokemon for a majority of the HMs never occurred to me. (Neither did using dittos to breed everything and anything, actually...)

...hire a firm to perform some market research and assess the feasibility of such a thread in relation to costs and effort spent versus usefulness?
-
That doesn't sound very safe at all.
-
Well, I don't know about the lighting them on fire or letting them rot for a month, but carving faces and stuff on them is fun! (Also toasted pumpkin seeds yum yum yum)
-
...I'm actually very impressed with that.

Spoiler: The final boss is Ronald McDonald, and when he's defeated you unmask him and he's "McDonald's CEO". Also Grimace was a mutated Pokemon designed by McDonalds to sell hamburgers? And isn't used in advertising anymore because they can just use the more popular Pokemon...

Is it possible you might have some sort of sleeping disorder, like sleep apnea or something? That might make it feel like you're not getting any sleep even when you're asleep for long periods of time.
-
Oooh, PETA taking on McDonalds, what a surprise. (Sorry. I'm not a fan of PETA and I find these pokemon "games" kind of disturbing.)
-
Well, you got Cumberbatch right at least. Thats a name I find hard to write at the best of times.
