Don't get me started on Tapped Out. I started "playing" it a few days ago. I hate all these microtransactions in games simply for the sake of having them.

So I found this really cool thing explaining Spelunky's level generation: http://tinysubversions.com/spelunkyGen/ (From what I can find it only works in Chrome right now.)

I swear I didn't pirate it. I got it from a store in my town, it was just in a jewel case by itself. Like this: There was no manual with it (beyond some installation instructions in the insert.) I had to basically figure the game out myself I still remember the day my mom bought it... I had been wanting (*some other game at said store that I cannot remember today*) but while I was at school my mom went and bought a new game for our computer! Yay! I thought for sure it would be (*game I wanted*)! Then I got home and saw... this. A game about pirates that I had never heard of before, and looking on the back didn't show me how the game worked at all. It looked nothing like any game I had ever played. BUT it also looked like a cartoon, so I gave it a shot. Best. Decision. Ever.

...until I looked it up just now, I did not know about The Curse of Monkey Island's coin interface. I remember seeing the coin popping up once in a while, but I had no idea what it was for or what it meant, and my copy of the game didn't have a manual. I just learned through trial and error all of the verb keys on my keyboard.

Wow, some of these complaints are... for lack of a better word, insane. "One line was about whipping someone's toosh" That made me lose my mind laughing. Just the word "toosh" seemed so odd.

Well, the ship is quite large and spacious, and I feel like we have a lot of resources, but some people are telling me that isn't quite right and we need to stop using so much. Plus they really got the gravity nailed down. And the atmosphere is quite nice, too.

..well, I can't see the orange moon from here in Canada, so I'd say the whole project was a bit of a waste.

It was tough, but my orbiting magnifying glass worked PERFECTLY. I'm just lucky it was aimed at some bushes and not a house or anything. In a lot of ways, it wasn't a great plan...

I just started reading Wolf Hall. So far, so good. It's been a long time since I've read something even mildly intelligent (except, I guess, the A Song of Ice and Fire books), so this feels almost refreshing to read. As for the Xanth books, I read "A Spell for Chameleon" wayyy back in... 7th grade, I think. Maybe 8th grade. Definitely before I entered highschool. I thought it was entertaining, but I didn't notice misogynistic tones (this being entirely because I wasn't really tuned in to noticing things like that; looking back I can absolutely see it) The only reason I didn't read any more of them was that I could never find another Xanth book. The only other Piers Anthony book I was able to find in my home town was "Killobyte", which I tried multiple times to finish but simply couldn't.

Today, for the first time in years, I bought some orange juice. I was in a store, looking to get maybe a case of pop, and there was a sale on cases of cans of juice, so I got some orange juice. I had forgotten how incredibly delicious orange juice is. But now I've drank all 12 cans, and decided to look at the nutrition info. Each can contains 130% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin C. So today I have consumed somewhere in the neighborhood of 1560% of my recommended amount of Vitamin C. ...can you overdose on Vitamin C? Am I gonna die or be in horrible pain? I am not looking forward to the next few days if either of those is the case.

Yeah, screw dolphins! Wait, no, bad idea.

That was a hard thought to follow.

The first home-cooked meal in my apartment was eaten standing by the counter because we had no furniture. I then proceeded to sit on my bunched up blanket and read before sleeping on said bunched up blanket. Not classy, not comfy, not fun.

I played hockey for about a year in kindergarten, using old equipment our neighbour's kid had outgrown. We were the worst team in our league and did not win a single game. In NHL news, the Jets are now last in their division and I couldn't be more upset about it. EDIT: Well they won their game against St.Louis today, so at least there's that.

Drunk gaming is best gaming.

So on the 2DS I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally bumping the volume slider and waking people up when I game at 3AM? Awesome.

The worst is when they reply to themselves, or make an edit at the end, with "Never mind, I figured it out!" WHY WONT YOU TELL ME HOW???

The best thing about the whole drunk thing (which I'm sometimes) is trying to play multiplayer games while unable to hold your own head up and start laughing on the mic uncontrollably for no real reason.

This sounds like a good place to post when I get drunk enough to start working on things that I will never finish. For instance, somewhere around here I probably still have my Jagermesiter-fueled plans for the ultimate hand-made gamer chair. (It included cup holders, a side pouch for stuff, and an arm that could have a fold-out counter thing like you see on some airplanes nowadays....)
