Thank you. Also that would be a brilliant answer.

lol, it really is a terrible question. Also, I'm kind of glad you replied because yesterday I played "Ben There, Dan That!" and knew I had seen the character somewhere before. Now I realized I've seen him on your avatar here. So that's cool. EDIT: Wait a second. I actually looked at your name, and then your signature... Awesome game, I'm planning on playing "Time Gentlemen, Please!" tonight, hope its as good as the first. (Actually I hope its better, but I always hope things are better...) Thank you!

I suck at math. I can do the easy stuff: I can add subtract multiply divide. I understand fractions and basic algebra. But once we start getting into really theoretical stuff... I completely blow at it. Maybe part of it is just that math was always taught to me like, "You do this because that's the way you solve it." without any kind of context or explanation, just do it because thats how you do it. I can't even imagine trying to take calculus or anything like that, it all just goes so far over my head.

So I got called back early. I got the job! I start on Tuesday. For the first time since February I finally have a job to go to. So that's kind of exciting.

Earlier today I finished Ben There, Dan That!, a short adventure game. I got it and it's sequel on Steam the other day while the package was on sale. It was funny, and the story was just weird enough to keep me interested. And for the most part, the puzzles were okay. Except one of the earliest puzzles in the game...

That's really clever, which is probably why I didn't think to do it. So yeah, the interview went well I think. Apparently the guy doing the interview knew of my hometown (which is very small and in the middle of nowhere, so this was actually kind of surprising) so the entire thing started off with a bit of a conversation about where I lived. It was honestly the most relaxing start to a job interview I have ever had. From there it was a bunch of the usual questions ("What would you say is your biggest weakness?" etc) that I feel like I answered well. Overall a very positive vibe. Now I have to wait on a criminal background check, so he said they should be contacting me again on Wednesday. So for two days I sit and wait. And play games. Videeeeooooo gaaaammmeeeess....

At least part of the nervousness is from the fact that I've been unemployed for so long and have had so few responses to job applications that it feels more important, you know? (Also, if I get this job it would be the highest paying job I've ever held, so there's slightly more incentive there.) Also I'm just always nervous in situations like this. Well, now I'm off to the interview... I'll update when I get back! Also good luck dibs! I'm sure you will interview them well.

...I've been doing the same. Except not for Minecraft. For the last little while I've just been playing Steam games to get the card drops so I can sell them on the marketplace so I have some money in my Steam Wallet to buy something come the next big sale. Meanwhile I have yet to finish playing GTAV, or XCOM: Enemy Unknown (which I only got last month), and Skyrim. All of which I have on my XBox and yet I never play because I'm making money playing games on Steam!

"If it's clear and yella, you got juice there fella! If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town! Now, there are two exceptions to that... and in Canada, the whole thing's flip-flopped!"

That actually sounds really interesting. It also looks terrifying to try and translate, so, you know, good job. As for my life... I have a job interview later today with a call center. Hopefully things go well, I could really use a steady paycheck right now. Unfortunately I didn't get any sleep last night (stupid brain, making me think about how I can't really know for sure that anyone else actually exists and that I can't even know anything I've experienced isn't just simulated by my brain...) so now I'm getting pretty tired and I'm worried that will mess me up a bit for the interview. Also I'm just not good at interviews, so I'm pretty nervous regardless.

I was a little excited for Frozen when all I had seen of it was that weird looking snowman guy. Then I saw an actual trailer for it, and... meh. I don't really think I want to watch it all that much.

I love to watch video game "review" shows online. Things like AVGN, Spoony, JonTron, PBG, Continue?, I eat it all up. I devour these shows. But it was today as I was watching one about Red Dead Redemption, that I thought about something... How weird is it going to be in a like, a decade, when the games being reviewed will look like shit (in theory), but everyone has old videos talking about how everything looks "fantastic" and "beautiful" and "some of the best graphics I've ever seen". On the other hand maybe its not that big of a deal, and I guess something like this can be seen by reading old gaming magazines....

Charlie Brooker teaches Jon Snow to play video games
Ucantalas replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I can't lie, I was a little disappointed when I discovered that they were not, in fact, talking about "Jon Snow" the Game of Thrones character, but an actual person named Jon Snow. I greatly enjoy Charlie Brooker's work, and it was actually his "Gameswipe" special, I think, that introduced me to his work. (Thank you YouTube!) -
The end-of-the-generation retrospective megathread.

Wait, the first few AA games were originally on GBA? Huh, I had no idea. ...I also wish I had been able to find more of them, I was only ever able to find a copy of Trials and Tribulations. Which I have played through about 3 times and loved it. (Except the Mask de Masque case... I got stuck there for a very long time my first time playing through...) -
There is no happy medium with leather furniture. Its always freezing cold when you first sit down... then in an hour its hot and sticky. That's assuming its not summertime, when it starts hot and sticky. And god help you if you accidentally left it in direct summer sunlight all day before sitting down...

Just adding that Unity 4.3 is out now. ...I haven't used it yet.

My cousin has one of those "gamer chairs". It loses its comfort fast, and I find it very hard to get out of afterwards....

My reasoning for the weird Pokedex entries was that I always thought it was the player character writing the entries (at least in earlier games, I thought it was?) so all of the exaggerations and heights and weights are approximations. For instance, to a 10-year-old, I can imagine a kid burning his hand on Magcargo and then saying "Wow, this is hotter than THE SUN!"

Old Christmas cartoons can be really sad. Case in point: "Christmas Comes But Once a Year" makes me cry every time I see it, and has done so every year I've watched it since I was a little kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjWvUntFLME

I just realized I don't think I've ever experienced batteries leaking in any device I've ever had... I feel kind of fortunate in that.

Holy moley. That is some fine Lego work. I haven't pulled out my Legos in ages... I really want to now. Sadly they are all at the other end of the province at my mother's house.

Ugh, those Triforce shards... definitely the low point of the game. I have to admit, when I mentioned what part I was at, one of my friends immediately said "Go find a guide online to do the Triforce stuff." It still took two days, one getting the charts and another getting the actual shards. ...and then I had to farm for Rupees because Tingle costs so much to translate the charts, and I hadn't bothered to get the larger wallet until then... All around an annoying part of an otherwise great game.

A couple of days ago I finished "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX". Earlier today I completed "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" (original, not the new HD release). Both games were a lot of fun. I think Wind Waker might be my favorite 3D Zelda game.
