How many potatoes does it take to kill an Irishman? None.

Do you want to discuss people eating their own feces? Because I'll talk about it. I'll do, I swear! So I feel like, if you were to eat your own poop, wouldn't it taste better to you than other people's poop? I mean, its all stuff you already ate (which, presumably, you liked to eat, otherwise you wouldn't have eaten it?) whereas the other person's could contain anything. Even their own poop. And wouldn't that just be gross?

That is incredibly sexist, not everyone can whizz up a rope you... you... I'm sorry I can't do this. I can't think of some way to insult you. I suck at this.

As far as the DBZ movies go... I kind of enjoyed them, but only as sort of separate, self-contained things, and not in the context of the rest of the series. I really treated most of the ones I saw as sort of "What if... this person attacked earth in the DBZ universe?" more than actually treating them like actual in-universe situations. One thing I never really got with DBZ... when Goku first went super Saiyan, it was this legendary thing that no one had done for (hundreds? Thousands? I dont remember) of years, but once he does it, it basically becomes such a common thing with anyone with even an ounce of Saiyan blood left? It just feels like he does it once and everyone just goes, "Oh, that's what Super Saiyan looks like? I can do that!" ...which brings up another question: If no one has seen Super Saiyan in such a long time, how does anyone know that Goku actually *did* go Super Saiyan? Or was it just some other thing that they mistake for Super Saiyan but its really more like a super powerful Kaio-ken? I guess there are beings that exist in the afterlife, and I don't really know if or how strongly they age, so maybe some of them have seen it and confirmed it, but I dont remember anything like that? King Kai, maybe? It's been way too long since I watched DBZ, so it's entirely possible these questions are actually answered in-show and I just dont remember them.... well thats my DBZ talk for the day! Adios!

I am now working for a call center for a cell phone company. I feel my hatred of SIM cards is now perfectly rational.

Twig you are a master of making me feel bad. You know what: I will admit that I haven't sat down and watched through DBZ recently, although a few years ago I did do it with DB. So it is possible that I am still being covered by nostalgia-glasses and that it really might be as inferior as you are saying.I will concede on that point at least.

But without DBZ we never would have had Frieza! And Vegeta! TRUNKS! CELL! (And teenage me would not have had Android 18... That sentence shall speak for itself and I will not speak further about it.) (Although, with the differences in tone and feel between DB and DBZ, I probably would have been fine with DBZ if it hadn't had anything to do with DB and had been its own series entirely. I still enjoyed it enough that I wouldn't want it to have not existed entirely.)

  14. Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary

Wow, 10 years? I've been listening for... about 1 year now, maybe a little less. I'm so glad I found the podcast (doubly so when I found out about the whole Kickstarter thing and how I could have completely missed it if I had tried looking for video game podcasts a few months earlier...) On top of that, I'm glad to have become a part of the community here as well. It's nice to have somewhere to just throw in my weird thoughts and opinions while still having a tighter community than, say, Reddit, where I might never run into the same user twice. Thanks all you wonderful Thumbs for everything!

That brings up a question I've kind of been wondering about... If you think you need a therapist, do you just, like... call one up and make an appointment? Or do you need to be referred by a regular doctor, like you would for a different type of specialist? I don't know if I'd ever be able to admit mental issues to the doctor I would go to about weird rashes or other physical things, it just seems really weird to me. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy.

So all of my criticisms should be coming from a talking butt with the voice of Mickey Mouse? ...that's actually slightly terrifying.

I love how that video ends with "To Be Continued". Like really, how much more could there possibly be?
  20. Idle Bibles - An Idle Thumbs Bible Game

An adventure game with 4 different versions of the story, that are sold randomly (like the way the movie "Clue" had different endings depending on the theatre), and they're each the story of Jesus, but each told from a different perspective. It's "Gospels: The Game". Or something. ...I'd play it.

I absolutely love following conspiracy theories. Not because I believe in them, but more as another form of fiction, a sort of "what-if" version of events. "What if the government actually did cause 9/11?" is just an interesting thing to think about, but not something to take seriously. I will admit that it wasn't always that way with me, and for a period I did believe a lot of these weird conspiracy theories... then it was around the time I basically sat down and played the first two Metal Gear Solid's back-to-back that I made some connections between the obviously bullshit fiction stories of MGS1&2, and the theories I'd been reading about, and I had a bit of a shift in perspective, where suddenly what I had been reading as "fact" I now couldn't help but look at as if it were part of a Metal Gear game, and it really sort of threw me out of the beliefs I had at the time. It seems a little silly to say that playing those games helped change me, but that's kind of exactly what happened. They went from seeming real and secretive and exciting to all seeming kind of silly.
  23. Idle Bibles - An Idle Thumbs Bible Game

You turn on the game. You are in a room, first-person perspective. There doesn't appear to be anything going on. You look around, and hear a small ding. You move around the room, looking and moving, and then you try jumping. Finally you see a door, and you open the door. And you just explore this weird building until your character dies. And then you wind up in heaven with a number of sins based on the number of non-prayer and non-sacrificial actions you performed, including moving the camera, walking, jumping, and opening doors without divine instruction to do so. I present... "Faith", the new PC game from My Imagination Right Now.
