It's a damn fine reindeer and you even have the laser coming out of the nose in the spirit of the original avatar. I think it's great. It still fucks with me a little though just because it wasn't the first one I saw when I joined. Also, I miss your original avatar (at least what I saw as your original avatar). I didn't do thaaat.
  2. I Had A Random Thought...

    Well, here's some context then.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

I will forever and always be Urkel. Because I am Urkel.
  4. I Had A Random Thought...

Oh yeah, there you are, I remember you! Yay!
  5. I Had A Random Thought...

Sometimes I wish everyone would just go back to using their original avatars on these forums (or at least the avatars they were using when I joined). It really fucks with me for some reason when someone goes from a dude with lasers shooting out of his eyes to a reindeer. Don't get me wrong, the reindeer is awesome and all, but I was just used to that person's posts coming from a laser-eyed dude.

Dude, yes, Little Giants was great. Also, Ladybugs.

This might be the ultimate test for exactly how bulletproof this community is. If we can create and sustain a thread where we can make respectful remarks about pictures of each other's genitals, then we truly have won the internet.

Man, whatever happened to Bug Hall? Little Rascals, The Big Green, Honey We Shrunk Ourselves, he was all over the place in the 90s. I miss that dude. He was a fellow freckle-face like me and I always felt like we were long lost brothers.
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

Because nobody ever laughed at Alfalfa for having his hair that way. And I was 10.

Back on the animated track, did anyone ever watch We're Back or Once Upon a Forest as a kid? All of this kid movie talk reminded me that I saw both of those movies approximately 5 dozen times. I had to actually look up a list of 90s animated movies to remember the names of these two but other than the names, I remember almost every fucking detail of them because they are permanently burned into my brain. And for me, the movie that probably takes the cake that I feel like a fool for not mentioning is the 1994 remake of The Little Rascals. I watched that movie over and over and over through elementary school. I even once watched it three times back to back. My friend and I watched it so many times that we once went in the backyard and acted out the entire movie, line for line. I was so obsessed that my grandma even went and purchased the entire collection of 1920's and 1930's Little Rascals shorts presented by Leonard Maltin. Looking back, there was some pretty racist shit in there but I loved the hell out of them. Then I hit rock bottom around 4th or 5th grade and went to the zoo with my hair done exactly like Alfalfa. I had freckles and everything so it was pretty spot on. But when people started pointing at me and chuckling I went to a bathroom and got rid of the sprout. Reality hit me hard that day.

I'm just going to say it: both pig movies were garbage. Movies about talking pigs = movies that are really fucking stupid. Even as a kid I distinctly remember thinking "Why the fuck did they make 2 movies about talking pigs? Talking pigs are stupid!" Look Who's Talking and Look Who's Talking Too though are fucking classics from my childhood. I like to think I sounded like Bruce Willis and my sister sounded like Roseanne Barr when we were babies. It's scary how many times I've seen the first Look Who's Talking movie. Look Who's Talking Now was alright too. Beethoven was great. I always wanted a Saint Bernard after seeing that movie. Also, the dad in the movie was such a dream crushing asshole.
  12. I Had A Random Thought...

That's pretty much all I remember too. I think I also remember Rob Schneider, but I'm not sure. I just know that I freakin loved that movie for some reason. Also, Monkey Trouble. Also, Baby's Day Out.
  13. Plug your shit

So far I have only experienced it with the BF4 streams that I ran on PS4 and exported to YouTube. All the stuff I've exported from streams I did on the PC were fine but it seems like over 50% of the BF4 streams I've exported now have big chunks where the video is frozen but the audio is still going. I even went back to skim the streams that are still archived on my Twitch channel and the whole thing is perfectly intact. I guess I just have to conclude that the Twitch export to YouTube kind of sucks balls. Edit: At least the last one I did which was over 3 hours seems to have exported fully intact with no issues. It seems pretty hit or miss.

Honestly a little bummed that nobody besides me seems to have any fondness for Surf Ninjas. I mean, one of the kids is playing a Game Gear throughout the movie and if I remember right, the stuff he is doing in the game is happening in real life around him. This resonated strongly with me as I was regularly playing NBA Jam, X-Men, and Sonic 2 on the Game Gear around that time and I thought the shit in that movie was so awesome. On another random note, Beverly Hills Ninja is definitely the best ninja movie ever made.

As did I. I was so disappointed in the recording quality though. Kevin was able to use it to trick people into thinking it was his dad's real voice and slow down the audio to make himself sound older. None of these things worked for me and I felt cheated. Also, I too find Sandlot to be a very excellent movie that I still enjoy to this day, probably more so than almost any other kid movie I watched growing up. So I think that one counts as one of the best kid movies that still holds up and is watchable as an adult.
  16. Destiny

I sent out friend requests and look forward to hopefully playing with some of you guys. I already hit level 17 and I think I'm one or two story missions away from wrapping up Venus. At this point I don't think I've really done any strikes and have only really focused on story missions, bounties/patrols, and crucible matches. So I imagine there is still a decent amount out there I am still missing out on. This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows how positive I generally am towards games I am playing but I am really really enjoying this. But a big part of that may be because I had the inverse effect of what a lot of people had going in. Unlike a lot of early adopters who were going off of the pre-launch hype, my expectations were fairly low when I finally got into this because I had seen article after article slamming the game for its lackluster story, repetitive nature, infuriating RNG, and other minor issues. Now granted, I still haven't hit level cap, but so far none of this stuff is bothering me in the slightest. Instead, I am seeing a bunch of elements that I think came together really well to make a compelling game that I can see myself playing for quite some time. Here's a list of some of my random thoughts: The graphics and aesthetic are really nice. So much gorgeous scenery and little details everywhere. The soundtrack is great and combined with the aesthetic, makes for a wonderful atmosphere. The gameplay is incredibly satisfying for me. Shooting, jumping, melee, grenades, and specials all seem very well tuned. I think this is the key reason why I don't see myself getting too frustrated with any grindiness. It is just fun to jump into an area and take dudes out and if the game will keep giving me reasons to do that I am more than happy to. I really like the sprawling, open nature of a lot of the main hub areas. They seem open enough that I still feel like I am discovering new areas within them or new angles to approach things. Add in the speeder bike and I am quite enjoying zipping around and getting into trouble. It seems like there is just enough variety to allow for a couple hours of play a day without it feeling too monotonous (and I'm sure I will change my tune on this somewhat as I play more). Between bounties, patrol missions, random public events, strikes, and crucible matches it seems like there is plenty to do. And again, because I find the gameplay so satisfying I really don't mind some of the mmo style tedium associated with some of this stuff. Also, I think I kind of like that the story is just kind of lackluster and in the background. If I am going to be doing a lot of this stuff over and over I think I'd rather have that than some in your face overly epic shit.
  17. Destiny

Thanks guys. My game's been idling for a few hours but I'll add you when I get back.
  18. Destiny

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely save some of that stuff for level 20 and already popped another 3 levels last night. I saw in the roster menu that you can set your fireteam to public. Does that allow randoms to join your group with voice chat and stuff? I've been able to just randomly join some dudes in some of the public events while doing patrol missions but not much beyond that. Also, I'm playing on PS4.
  19. Destiny

So I finally started putting some more time into this and I freaking love this game. It is totally my cup of tea. My only problem is that I'm only level 12 and still a little overwhelmed at all the different kinds of reputation, vendors, emblems, and other little odds and ends I keep picking up. Some of it is starting to make sense but I've just been figuring it out as I go so I'm not really sure what to focus on. I also really want to team up with some people to do some of these story and patrol missions but I can't seem to figure out a way to make that happen and I don't know anyone that is playing this around the same level as me. Is there any kinds of way to look for a group in game or so you have to coordinate that elsewhere?
  20. I Had A Random Thought...

Oh man, I forgot about Rookie of the Year. That totally deserves a spot on the list. I did consider Home Alone but just being home alone and out smarting some burglars just isn't as exciting and fantastical as some of the other ones.
  21. I Had A Random Thought...

The Sandlot is a damn good answer but it lacks the child wish fulfillment that Blank Check has. I always thought the best non animated kids movies were those that had kids doing things that a lot of us probably fantasized about as kids. So kicking people's asses as a ninja, having a rollercoaster at your house, or using a Macintosh to fill a check out for a million dollars and then buying a mansion with a water slide that goes from the master bedroom to the pool. Jumanji is just kids constantly on the verge of death and as great as The Sandlot is, it's really just a bunch of kids being assholes to the new kid and ruining his erector set.
  22. I Had A Random Thought...

Which is the best non animated kids movie: 3 Ninjas, Surf Ninjas, Blank Check, or Richie Rich? My vote is for Blank Check. It is the Citizen Kane of non animated kids movies.
  23. Plug your shit

Sorry just saw this. Yes I'm still streaming Battlefield 4 several nights a week around 9 or 10PM Arizona time. The link is in my signature. Since I had a few friends on with me I think tonight's turned out fairly decent. Also, I've been exporting each stream to my YouTube channel but a few of the videos have segments where the audio keeps going but the video freezes for a period of time. Some quirk with the Twitch to YouTube export I guess.
  24. Self-imposed challenge modes

    Minecraft.
  25. Plug your shit

Okay, so I'm starting to feel comfortable enough with this whole streaming thing that I think I'm going to try to make it more or less a nightly thing. So I'll stop announcing it in the broadcast thread and just say that I aim to stream each night somewhere in the window of 9PM to midnight Arizona time. I'll probably do it for most games except games like Dragon Age Origins which I still need to finish and would probably be way too fucking boring to watch. So if anyone's interested, feel free to check it out or subscribe to my channel.
