I over generalize, DigiPen is legit. What you really need is either industry recognized certifications (which don't exist, though a degree from places like Full Sail or DigiPen are starting to gain traction), the ability to spit MAD game (90% of all technical interviews are just you talking about how you would solve problems with someone who's technically competent and they'll be able too sniff BS) or an outstanding portfolio. Too many game schools will take your money, give you a diploma and let you walk off campus with dick to show for it; no skills, no portfolio, just a HUGE debt and a head full of entitlement and high expectations. Unfortunately you probably won't know you're at a place like that until it is too late. You're way better off going it on your own until you have a handle on specifically what you need to learn and then doing classes specifically for that (online or something). EDIT: I should note that I arrived at this conclusion several years ago (mid noughties) so things may have gotten a lot better, though I'd still be very wary of paying for a diploma in How to Games.

Do not go to a games school. They are massively overpriced jokes. If you want a programming job, go to a proper school and get a proper degree. If you want to make games, there are tons of free resources and communities online; you'll literally get the same if not better info from them as you'd get from a game school and spare yourself $40k of debt. It'll also do as much (or as little) to make you employable.

I look forward to the inevitable Dota 2 announcer.

I dunno. If there is an ever present raw gnawing uncertainty at the core of your society, the appeal of easy security is probably pretty great. I wonder if there is a similar correlation with lottery participation and petty crime.

It isn't like you can attribute the call to wipe out the male gender to Steve Feminist, founder and public face of feminism.

Game reviews as a thing are really weird; due to the nature of games, any critical work about them is, to a certain degree, doomed to caught in a no man's land between consumer reports style product reviews, Roger Ebert style movie reviews and new games journalism style dream dairies. All of these lenses are valid but no one (or two) is adequate and everyone seems to hate one (or two).

Wait wait wait. Does that carry over to match making? I thought that was just for grinding the AI battles for hats. Edit: according to GAF, probably just affects hat getting.

So what you're saying is that the cosmetic stuff Capcom used to charge for is now free.If they were hiding characters you needed for a full roster in PvP, then it would be pitchfork time.

If you're playing Lich, then you're lane support. You're best in the safe lane with the carry. Ward the close rune and the jungle to avoid ganks. Learn about Stacking and Pulling so you can control the creep momentum and get some money. Sometimes, putting the second ward on the high ground of the enemy's mid to help your mid keep vision when their creeps push out too far. Lich only really needs his ult to be useful in team fights early on, so being a bit under leveled isn't a big deal. If you're a roaming support like Lina, then you can drop wards along the river on your way to the enemy's safe lane (too kill their carry). The key is to put wards where you're afraid guys will come from. If you're in the hard lane, in the enemy's jungle is good. If you're in the safe line, your jungle. If you're pushing a tower, behind their tower is handy (since they'll probably group up there to fight you off).
