Hearing those "tch-tch-tch-tch-tch-tsthsththsthsthtthshthsthshtshtshth" sprinklers at twilight makes me nostalgic for summer. Cicadas just make me nostalgic for Neon Genesis Evangelion. Also those train crossing warning bells.

I've pm'd you the link to the roll20 session. -
8/10 for me. When I remembered NewBee won TI4 (coulda sworn it was Vici) I actually swapped them in over Empire >.<. I thought Alliance would get tapped since they've been rallying. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who picked MVP.

the level of discourse on GB is, in general, very low. It's doubly frustrating since they are, ostensibly, some of the few people these days who make a living talking about video games.- 1367 replies

RAVE vs MVP was a toss up for me. I picked MVP just because I think they're better known.

I don't much myself, but I started following EG after the Aui_2000 interview on Dota Today. They are a really fun team to watch, and they've got a nice cross section of characters. PPD the raging HoN trash. Sumail, the wunderkind with a bad attitude, Old man Fear, Aui_2000 with his crazy knowledge of the game (him, Blitz and Lumi did a great run down of 6.84) and Universe... who at least seems like a good sport, judging by the music videos he's made with Aui. They're arguably one of the best teams in the world right now and have a real chance at winning. Beyond EG, Alliance (Loda, AdmiralBulldog), Cloud 9 (EE) and Secret (all of them) have the personalities to make watching dota fun. NA dota is mostly a battle for 2nd place after EG. I kind of hope Union Gaming, the all Peruvian team, does something big in the qualifiers, if only because they're an all Peruvian team. SEA dota isn't as clowny as it used to be and Team Malaysia could do something big. I don't know anything about Chinese dota, beyond IG promised to wear Maid cosplay on steam if they got the redemption vote to get back into The Summit 3 and recently delivered.

Conspiracy theory: the invite predictions are actually a vote because valve are tired of getting yelled at for inviting the wrong teams. That being said, who are your predictions? I did mine and checked joinDota to see how NiP compare to VP and it turns out I basically transcribed their top 10 ranked teams You foresee any surprises?

Dan Ryckert is not the Vinny we deserve, but he's the Vinny we need right now. Imagine a podcast with Drew Scanlon, Danny O'Dwyer, Vinny and Dan Ryckert. People with personalities and outside interests and positivity...- 1367 replies

Whenever those scenes in prime time tv come up, I'm reminded of this tv writer on reddit confessing that they make those scenes as bad as possible to troll tech savvy fans. -
This sounds exactly like me. I sit down to work on something hard that's going to take a long period of commitment and it's like there's a lead weight on my chest. I'll poke around the edges and procrastinate and fuck around but not until the deadline is imminent can I feel the push I need to get through this feeling of paralysis. I never end up with anything I'm really happy with, usually its just barely enough, and it always just piles self loathing on me. It's something I've struggled with (to not much avail unfortunately) and I'm starting to appreciate how much it impacts my quality of life. I feel like it might be linked to anxiety, but I have no idea. It stops me from making games. It stops me from getting in shape. I stops me from doing my taxes on time. Hell, it stops me from playing Dota. It's something I feel like I should deal with professionally, but I have absolutely no idea how to even start looking in to that... and when I try... you know.

I love that the tweet preceding that is someone literally, poe facedly, unironically sending Dorn that Zoe Post as a defense of Eron Gjoni. And by "love", I mean that down thumb barfing, farting into eternity emoticon that I don't know how to post from my phone.

The point of tasers is for punishing belligerent suspects with something that doesn't leave a mark and is classified as "safe". In practice, at least, if not in policy.
