Alright, so I haven't been working on this for a while; I got sidetracked by the other thing I'm now making for the jam. I finally got a good few hours to work on this tonight so I have some progress to show. I've built in support for different weapons and ammo pickups, redone the HUD elements, and tweaked a few pizza physics parameters. https://gfycat.com/FrequentPiercingFantail -

Hey thanks! Anything larger than 512x512 is fine. A smug high school senior picture sounds perfect. I'm looking forward to working on this some more tonight now that it's the weekend. I've been busy with work and other stuff all week, so it'll be nice to have a full couple of days to myself. -

It's not too late! There's still a week left to go. That's adequate time to make something cool, even if it's a bit smaller in scope. I really do hope we can do this again; I've had so much fun this week.

Cheers! Your photo's res was fine btw. They're all going to be cropped and resized to 512x512, so anything above that resolution is adequate. This is getting exciting. -

I've been undecided as to whether or not to get this game. I played the single player on the console version and have no real desire to replay that, but the potential for multiplayer hijinks makes me want to get it. I played a bit of GTA4 online with some of the Idle forumites and it was the most fun I've had in that game, so the thought of more of that is exciting. I think I'll wait until it gets cheaper; I can't really justify spending that much at the moment.

Ooh this is a good idea. It delves into some technical territory I'm not all that familiar with so I don't really know how large a task that is to implement, but it would be potentially pretty fun. On the other hand I wouldn't want to be responsible for making anybody feel bad if they found out their own hair was universally disliked. Even though it's clearly not mean-spirited, I wouldn't want my dumb minigame to genuinely upset anyone. -

Not really. The photos will be presented on the screen as polaroid prints, so there'll be no need for background removal or anything like that. -

Haha thanks! Interesting link, I had never heard of that term before. Usually I just see it referred to as "feel" or "juice" or "Vlambeer-ness" One of my eternal bad habits is that I put such a high priority on that kind of stuff that I'll implement screenshake before important things like the scoring system. One of the things I'm gradually getting better at (and doing jams like this helps a lot) is getting my priorities right for things like this. Also, being okay with showing messy WIP stuff and not worrying so much about presentation in general. However that said, the next thing that's going in is the ability for pizzas to explode into little slices and topping particles when they're destroyed. I guess old habits die hard .
