yeah, it's just stupid, and not a gauge of anything really, i actually watch lots of TV shows but not on TV, TV schedules are just a thing of the past for me, why watch daytime TV of filler when you can just watch things you actually like all the time, TV will eventually catch up with how it is watched

yeah, and i don't know how ratings are calculated everywhere, but in england it is determined by something like one in every one thousand households (one in the house) have a device that tracks what they watch, and they extrapolate from that how many people have watched a show, for advertising and such, but i have never known anybody that has had one of these devices and they aren't in enough houses, so it is basically made up, so by pirating it wouldn't be hurting the ad revenue or ratings, in fact it may help them if i/others recommend the show because by ripple effect it may get the people with these devices to watch it. but netflix is finally becoming more than just a collection of films i would only watch if i was really bored and TV shows i have seen or don't want to see, Toblix you probably understand the jealousy of hearing all the things that america has on their netflix/lovefilm and just thinking why have i only got the film year one and three season old mythbusters that i am paying for, when i can search "streaming mythbusters" on google and get the latest episodes for free

I'm not sure if i should wait for the UK netflix to put the episode up a week late (actually pretty amazing if you are familiar with UK netflix) or uhh.. just do what i normally do edit: oh fact check, it's immediately after it airs, amazing, i will watch it on newflix

i think they should only play games people have never heard of and will never be popular, and if some people have heard of the game or the game becomes popular they should delete the podcast and make a new one because it became too mainstream, also there is a distinct lack of hats, scarfs and old timey jackets in the fashion sense of the idle thumbs, sort that out, you're starting to resemble "the man", also the idle thumbs theme tune used to be a post-ironic statement about video games, but as time has gone by it is turning into a crypto fascist love letter to the mainstream games industry, so that should be changed to a simple arrangement of non harmonising notes with maybe a backing track of a ukulele slowed down and reversed to give it that chilled out intense sound

yeah it is kind of odd considering his family is the most important thing to him, but it's just one of those turning point moments (which was about of saving his family indirectly) in a relationship between two people, you are either on his side or you against him and if you are against him in such a serious decision he will hold it against you and forget about how you have helped him, which real people do, and if you are talking about that fight you may have with him, i just saw what he said as pure anger, grief and denial about what is happening, so to say he wasn't making sense would kind of be pointless. but yeah no scripts are perfect, but a lot of it sort of depends on how the reader interprets it, so a perfect script wouldn't be perfect for everyone

if you break the game down the most important decision when it comes to kenny is most other things kenny doesn't really care about that much, and after i just felt his behaviour was understandable

yeah, real people hold grudges and can decide they don't like people just for one thing, real people don't have friendship slider bars where you can do something really bad "-50 friendship" and then do some other small things "+10 friendship" until they like you again.

yeah, i don't know, it's a good podcast that seems to be made for fun not some obligation, so keep up the good work

i don't know if this is a bit presumptuous, but maybe there could be some kind of voting thing, where we collectively recommend a game for them to play, so sometimes there would be games we pick that they would not play normally, it's not like it would be mandatory or intentionally making them play bad games, but it's an idea

i agree the giving alcohol to Chuck to get kenny to move to get the map even though he really didn't need to move, Lee could have just reached it himself or just specifically asked for it was sort of an unnecessary puzzle for puzzle sake thing and the batteries thing was spread out a bit too long, Lee should have just put the batteries in himself. but you seemed to enjoy it even though you don't like the zombie genre that much, considering that is a large part of the game that is cool

oh, yeah, every game can be described in a "all you do is" way and sound really bad, but i guess if you hear people talking about things in that way, it just means they are saying they didn't like it

i think i would be more on the side of the guy that said no, and maybe play it sort of similarly to that guy, and i would say it is the permadeath that stops me from from really getting into it, in my head the question is "should i attack this spiders nest and maybe die and lose everything or should i just avoid death and find silk after something else had killed a spider" and avoid death wins almost every time, also automation to me seems like the natural thing to be aiming for when playing, at the beginning foraging and just simply surviving seems natural, but as the days go by my natural goal is to try and make life easier so i don't have to be constantly foraging and just simply surviving.

yeah i agree with that, i think that was GTA4's biggest problem it was trying to be gritty and serious but you could do totally insane things all the time

Rymdkapse sounds like a tower defence game but without levels and with some base building but no ending The Gashlycrumb Tinies: i can't deal with the perma-death in Don't Starve, it's like every minute i play is like a minute i will lose if i die

i do consider things and actions to have the capacity to be categorized as feminine or masculine, but i don't think something being feminine or masculine is a good or a bad thing it is just a label, i can do feminine things (it's weird chocolate is only feminine if a woman is eating it, chocolate is neutral) like talking about love while being 100% manly because i am a man, but i would be doing a feminine thing, but i guess what i consider feminine or masculine or neutral could be a problem, and i don't actually need the categories in my life except for if i was talking about feminine masculine things, but i don't think i could just delete the way i think about and categorize things and dammit what a waste of time i wish i realised that hugs chocolate and decorating could totally derail a thread sooner, sorry people i just didn't think that part was what people were complaining about, and learned that using stereotypes as short hand doesn't save time

i didn't mean to just make the most sexist scenario possible (which yeah thinking about it without any looking at it from just my own perspective it is) i just have a lifetime of enjoyable manly things i could pull from to make the manly man game fun, but i was trying to think of feminine things that women actually like to do and the best equivalent for arm wrestling, beer drinking and destroying things i could come up with was hugging, chocolate eating and decorating,. i don't know what feminine things i could have put there that would have worked, but as far as i am aware feminism isn't against femininity or feminine women, so a feminine game as a concepts isn't the bad part right? and also the whole time i was considering Sarkeesian's game concept as a woman game because it had all women as the main characters but whatever

i didn't mean POC get racist games, homosexuals get homophobic games and women get chauvinist games, i was more aiming in the opposite direction, i would personally enjoy a man game i like action movies and stuff like that, whatever the race, colour, creed or sexuality they should get a game they like
