  4. Let's Draw Video Games

this thread is really fun, i will join in soon enough, i've just been.....busy
  5. what if the guy just had a nosebleed and it freaked out the big guy, so he moved seats
  6. Idle Thumbs 119: You, Fisher

yeah but you have to torture 5 people because the information may not be correct, lol that doesn't seem to make it better
  7. Breaking Bad

  8. Life

how about asking for their phone number, text communication is sometimes not good enough, speaking on the phone is probably a bit safer (not 100% obviously)
  9. Breaking Bad

funny spoilers for the ending of the show http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/636264ec55/dean-norris-spoils-breaking-bad

  11. Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time

yeah mobile gaming profit isn't about quality it's about addictiveness and micro transactions
  12. Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time

the ridiculous thing is that i would have bought PVZ2 if it was a real game, but i never buy anything in a FTP game, the whole thing i don't like about FTP games is the motivation behind the design isn't "how fun can we make this so people want to keep playing" it's "how irritating can we make the game so that people feel like they need to purchase in game items" but for me spending money is always gonna be more irritating in a FTP game than replaying levels
  13. Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time

so some plants are actually pay real money only WTF, i thought people were saying it was a good example of FTP, that is exactly the reason FTP games suck, FUCK PVZ2
  14. Let's Draw Video Games

for extra encouragement (the stick) i will be checking this thread every day primed to judge you for not doing what you said you would, and for the carrot, i like seeing art made by people who aren't professional artists and i will genuinely be looking forward to seeing it
  15. Idle Thumbs 119: You, Fisher

yeah, it sucks when it's so clearly stated
  16. Idle Thumbs 119: You, Fisher

i like Rorschach because he is a psycho not as an idol or role model, but that isn't how i see Batman unless i think about him in the contexts of torture
  17. Idle Thumbs 119: You, Fisher

yeah it was a sort of realisation for me when i thought of batman as an example, because i see batman as an example of how morality and law doesn't always match up, but when you realise that batman tortures people for information, it makes it clear that he isn't the greatest example of morality actually
  18. the same thing happened with the walking dead game, just because it didn't fit strictly into the point and click adventure game genre it was said to not be a game, even by point and click adventure game fans, which is a genre of games that FPS gamers would say wasn't a game, to me a computer game is an interactive experience on a computer (yeah interactive fiction sounds weird, but i would be cool with it) people just need to be open to experiences they haven't had before, most games can be ruled out as a game if you lay down enough criteria for it to fill before it becomes a game, conclusion "video games"
  19. labels and genre definitions are good at telling you what you will be getting without having to play/research the game, but of course they could also be detrimental eg. now if i hear "roguelike" i will avoid it because i don't like permadeath/permafail and generally i would be correct in avoiding it, however the game could be a roguelike that fixes the reason i don't like roguelikes or be a unique game that has no set genre but the closest fit is roguelike so i would be missing out on an enjoyable experience . but i think that just means there needs to be more definitions of game types/genres, there should be a name for games like dear esther and gone home just so you don't have to say this new game is a bit like dear esther and gone home
  20. Let's Draw Video Games

that would be an epic project
  21. it's literally the most stupid thing i have ever heard let's just redefine the word fact so that it can also mean fiction, yes so that it can also mean no, up so it can also mean down and hot so it can also mean cold etc.
  22. i have a problem with the "video" part of "video game" but am i right in saying you have a problem with the "game" part in "video game"?
  23. that will be what the summer blockbuster comedy "holo-programs" will be commonly known as in the future, i can already imagine the holo-ads "the years funniest lologram made by the the holoprogrammer who brought you the hangover: this isn't synthohol and i married the mirror universe me"
  24. lol "holo-program" is like the manufacturers technical name for it, what about "the game" what is that? it is just easier to call them all "computer games"
  25. i have just always thought the term video games sounded old fashioned because i am a lifelong star trek fan and calling the games in the holodeck video games just seemed wrong, and yes the games in the holodeck are games just like gone home is a game
