  1. Idle Thumbs 205: LPBs and HPBs

My reference to facial hair in my email was actually about a reader mail from last episode. Here is the YouTube link that has t= in it:
  2. C'mon, Neon Genesis Englandelion is right there.
  3. When Chris asked "What does Pac-Man Do?" did anyone else immediately think "The purpose of the game is to navigate this maze."?
  4. Idle Thumbs 168: I Like the Hair

I was amused because they immediately started talking about pig noises, when the Ganon Laugh is itself a pig noise. Also, I get a shout-out in this episode and I have yet to upload it weeks later. Cool job, me.
  5. The Divine Comedy isn't just fanfic, it's self-insertion fanfic.
  6. Jiff?

Also it's a modulator-demodulator, but no one would pronounce modem as mah-deem.
  7. I didn't know what you were talking about until I heard Jake's second anecdote about The Phantom Menace. Your observation has been duly noted in the YouTube timestamp. I'd also like to express, er, my fondness for that particular forum.
  8. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

Very boring reading comprehension questions like what room the longest panel takes place in and what kind of company do Cassie and Nick likely work at.
  9. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

It was written December 2012. Because that's when I wrote it. I contracted for a Japanese company making TOEIC practice materials, and I wanted to pack as many Idle Thumbs in-jokes as possible into a passage because writing them can get boring. The book is on Amazon, where you can find the passage on page 270. I bought it for myself while vacationing in Japan two weeks ago. Here it is in Japanese, for giggles. I guess I'm not allowed to post images yet.
  10. I will admit that one of the YouTube channels I subscribe to is some guy in Osaka who takes multi-hour long videos from the front of trains as they complete their routes. Sometimes he has multi-screen videos where he has "races" where he'll compare, say, how fast the JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin services go from Osaka to Kobe. Most of the appeal to me is that I've lived in the environs and can go "Hey, that's where I'd stop and get Chinese food every other week!" And does anyone have the video of the They're Just Little Guys robots?
  11. Idle Thumbs 144: Gimme Some More

Majora's Mask is my favorite game ever and is super rad and yes the Thumbs should play it. A couple years ago I wrote about my favorite moment here: http://www.telebunny.net/toastywiki/index.php/Games/14-TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Also I think Ocarina is super good, but most of the 3D Zeldas after it were better, mostly because it broke so much ground that was built upon afterwards.
  12. Idle Thumbs 139: Happy News Year

I'd say that Chris has talked about Spelunky more on the cast, but the thing is it was first mentioned back in 2009, so it's got longevity going for it. Plus there was that interview with Derek Yu. That's my initial take though; I can run the numbers to be sure.* *I am not going to run the numbers. Thanks for the mention!
  13. Subspace Emissary, the single-player, story-driven part of Smash Bros Brawl, is great because it gave us hilarious crap like this:
  14. Peach was playable in Super Paper Mario, but that game gets lumped into the RPG sub-series though it's a platformer/adventureish game. Also Jake needs to not be self-conscious about these Nintendo segments. I'm right with you buddy!
  15. Why isn't everyone demanding the "That's The Stuff!" video in this thread? This is my number-one takeaway from the episode.
  16. Idle Thumbs 122: Mario's Picnic

Well now I have to check for myself. Edit: Hey, you're kinda right!
  17. Idle Thumbs 122: Mario's Picnic

Man, the time they refer readers to the YouTube version and I'm late this week. I am the worst YouTubeman.
  18. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Dammit I was looking all over for Gaynor Peaches.
  19. Idle Thumbs 105: XCOM Obama

Rodney Peete, nice deep cut. You're right, I am doing a great job!
  20. Idle Thumbs 105: XCOM Obama

Sean, if you could post a list of the QBs you commanded in XCOM my heart would be warmed. Also I feel dumb because I'm not sure if this "No Love for Dad" is from something.
  21. Hi, I'm the guy who does the annotated YouTube versions of Idle Thumbs episodes that you see at the Idle Videos YouTube channel. I think they're sort of neat! Also, just this very moment I realized there's a typo on the latest video. I'll just cover that up with one of those annotation boxes. There we go. Anyway, as useful as they might theoretically be for looking up specific discussions or games, it's not very easy searching through individual pages of notations. That's the sort of thing a wiki is best suited for. You might remember that a reader created a wiki which was pointed out back in Episode 50, but it's pretty dead at the moment. Here's a link to the wiki itself all on its own line to stand out. I've been working bit by bit to improve and standardize the pages, but it's sort of slow going. So, I'm enlisting the help of anyone who'd like to participate to fill in the rest the episode pages and flesh out everything else. I figure the episode pages should be the first thing to be completed. I've created a template for episode pages that you can copy and paste into a new page. Look at the page for Episode 1 for a good idea of what a finished article might look like. Let me know in the thread if you're interested or if you have any suggestions or comments. We'll probably end up using this thread for discussion on organization and the like. Thanks for your time.
  22. I went camping at the actual, real-life Odell lake just last year. I should have gone snorkeling to confirm how accurate the game's depiction of wildlife is. Also, it and Oregon Trail both take place at least partially in Oregon. Coincidence?
