  1. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

I was the bug that started the shit stirring and paid for it. But in my defense, I really felt backed into a corner early on.
  2. You didn't say the magic word

    Please. It's a EUNUCHS system.
  3. Wizaaaaaards!!

    You're welcome. :-)
  4. Wizaaaaaards!!

Oh man, today's Shirt.Woot is totally rad:
  5. Life

To an extent, I think you are right. There's absolutely a nerd culture springing up that loves the ideals of science much more than they love actually practicing any hard science. But then again, most people are really just applying the scientific method to engineer new things or to solve problems in different ways. And really, I think that's what is important anyway. Not everyone has the mental chops to be a full time scientist, but you can still apply their methods to your daily life. Celebrating pi day is just a way of saying you want to support that type of investigative and/or critical thinking. Complaining that you're not also celebrating a bunch of other days that correspond with mathematical constants just seems like pointless elitism to me.
  6. Awesome, thanks for that. It looks really good with Ubuntu's default themes.
  7. Getting a proper hi-res wallpaper image of just the watch tower would be really, really swell.
  8. It's weird to me how just a few years can make such a big difference in terms of what pieces of pop culture you latch on to when you are young. I'm 32 and everyone my age watched The Simpsons when it came out. My sister is 3 years younger than me and really doesn't identify with it that much. On the other hand, she was right at the sweet spot age for Pokemon when it came out. All her friends played it and watched the anime. Meanwhile, no one my age would have been caught dead playing it at the time. I've still never played a Pokemon game.
  9. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

I'm pretty sure its the same as the desktop UI. I'm using Chrome on a Nexus 7 and it seems identical to me.
  10. QUILTBAG Thread of Flagrant Homoeroticism

Could I interest you guys in a Rick Perry? We don't need anything for him, just take him off our hands. He's been heavily used, but his hair is still great.
  11. Life

So RSA is off to its normal shitty start, then?
  12. Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel

Dark galaxy isn't bad for a change of pace. It forces you to scout outward a lot more. The one game I played with it on I got into a MAD scenario along the border of the first person I ran into and stopped scouting. I ended up getting totally destroyed along one of my back borders like I should have. :-P
  13. Goofy Request

The ideal scenario here is clearly a murder cascade. You only need to kill the last person remaining.
  14. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

While we're at it, I think this: Should redirect to this:
  15. New people: Read this, say hi.

The purpose of signatures is to provide ways for people to e-stalk you elsewhere on the Internet.
  16. Yea, I get it. It is important to point out the privacy concerns there. But, seriously, securing IRC is on the same level as securing SMTP. Too much legacy crap that has poorly designed security controls around it to be trustworthy. Unless you've gone to some extremely great lengths with your operational security, assume anything you do on IRC is already public.
  17. Harvest vast amounts of chat room logs from... public chat rooms?
  18. I'd put an IRCCloud invite to good use if someone wanted to chuck one my way...
  19. Dota Today 10: Dunkin' Bro-nuts

What heroes? Are you talking about the lords?
  20. I'm currently fine with the Op situation as is, FWIW. Going to trouble of constantly keeping a bot running and logged in somewhere seems like more trouble than it's worth.
  21. If you're on Windows and really aren't planning to do a lot of heavy IRC talk, Pidgin is free and works perfectly fine.
  22. You want to a create an IRC account, not use one of your existing IM accounts. The account setup screen should just look like this:
  23. What you just described that you are enjoying out of MMOs is the communities and people, but not really much about any game mechanics. That's cool, but I've been around enough of that "community" to know that I've had my fill of it. I get enough "community" at my job. :-P
  24. I got an invitation to the beta. After the massive download, I logged in and created a character, but before I started playing I just backed out and uninstalled it. After losing over a decade+ of my life to playing MMORPGs almost exclusively, I feel comfortable saying that almost anything they offer has already been done better in a single player offline RPG. The only thing that remotely interests me is large scale PvP. Or it might if most of the good PvP experiences weren't rolled up in shitty pay to win monetization schemes these days. The genre is dying and I think it's for the best. I'd really give anything to have all the time I sunk into EQ, WoW, etc. back so I could have put it something constructive. Just play Skyrim, there's more meat to a game like that than anything a theme park MMO could offer you.
  25. New people: Read this, say hi.

That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about Houston.
