Terminal7 29: Out of Work Intellectual Camp Netrunner's art director Zoë Robinson of Fantasy Flight Games joins Nels & Jesse to talk about the creative and visual design processes behind bringing the game to life. Everything from working with freelancers to what sounds like the world's best meetings to how to an artificial intelligence sees itself in cyberspace. And if that didn't go deep enough, a long-shared but hitherto unknown family secret between Nels and Zoë is also revealed! Terminal7 28: I Believe Denzel is Symmetrical The SanSan Cycle begins in the biotech hub of northern California. The Valley hosts the best and brightest biotechology companies in the world and their breakthroughs are now available for both corporations and runner. A new Jinteki ID has one of the three different abilities, secretly selected by the corp at the start of the game. Runners can now splice their genetic code to be smart, faster, better. Cyberware is tired and primitive, the future is modifying the very programming of life itself. Terminal7 28: I Believe Denzel is Symmetrical

Yeah, I realized that about 20 minutes after the cast! If GR said "the rez cost of all ICE is decreased by 1 credit" that would be solid, let alone the flexibility from the other targets. -

Terminal7 27: The Worst was Had by You Picking up where things were left off all the way back in episode 23, the discussion of deck archetypes return! This time it's subtle but dangerous Jinteki and the wealthy and unscrupulous Weyland. What are the most common archetypes with each faction and what IDs enable these archetypes? Nels and Jesse discuss this, plus an exciting announcement that Terminal7 has fully sold out! Terminal7 26: Life as a Dung Beetle Live from the Terminal City Tabletop Convention, Nels and Jesse are joined by Eddy Boxerman and Dave Burke, the creators of the new competitive (but non-LCG) card game, Karmaka! As big fans of Netrunner, Eddy and Dave talk about how Netrunner influenced Karmaka, how they differ and what their experience has been like designing a competitive card game. Terminal7 25: Code Gates are Creamy Continuing to the Anarch half of Order & Chaos, Quinns from Shut Up & Sit Down returns to throw caution to the wind and live like there's no tomorrow! Little unifies the Anarchs beyond their proclivity for destruction and oh boy, does Order & Chaos ever offer up destruction. Between Kim's hammer, Valencia's truth-at-any-cost and MaxX's two finger salute, Anarchs have never been more varied or more vibrant. Terminal7 24: Encountering Cosmic ICE Order & Chaos has finally been released! Netrunner's newest deluxe expansion focusing exclusively on the Weyland consortium and the Anarchs is here, providing myriad new options for both factions. Not to break with tradition, Quinns from Shut Up & Sit Down joins Terminal7 to discuss these new developments. In this first of a two-part O&C extravaganza, the new acquisitions of the Weyland consortium are discussed. Replete with credits and infamous for their sometimes harsh measures, O&C sees Weyland aim for the stars with extraterrestrial facilities, ICE and initiatives, perhaps this is a more charitable, progressive Weyland. Then again, they're "liberating" people from tyrants they didn't even know they had, so perhaps not. Terminal7 23: Broom-Hands Returning fresh in 2015, Nels and Jesse are going to be discussing the major deck archetypes of all seven the game's factions. First up is the Teutonic titan of efficiency Haas-Bioroid and slick, surveilling NBN. Both corporations has strong fast advance tools that can close out a game in the blink of an eye. But the eponymous bioroids of H-B and some recent new developments at NBN provide both factions some interesting options to secure their agendas and ensure victory is always just out of the runner's grasp. Yeah, so just a Cell Portal by itself is probably not worth rezzing. But if it's got something a little pricey in front of it (ideally with an Akitaro Watanabe installed too), then that server is now pretty darn hard to get into.
-
As folks upthread have mentioned, yeah, if it's not an agenda, the Asset specifically needs to say "{This Card} can be advanced." But you may have been thinking of Project Junebug, which does explicitly say it can be advanced and further, "If you pay 1c when the Runner accesses Project Junebug, do 2 net damage for each advancement token on Project Junebug." Technically nothing happens to the asset or the advancement counters on the card after its accessed, but given that Project Junebug and most other traps have a 0c trash cost (barring other weird card effects), assuming they survive, the runner will just trash them right after accessing.

Terminal7 22: It's Giving You Lyme Disease We gave gone upstalk, into orbit and all the way to the moon. There, we found The Source and have brought it back to earth. Nels & Jesse discuss the concluding, but no less thrilling, data pack in The Lunar Cycle. Plus, with the holidays coming up, tips are provided on how to give the mostly kingly gift anyone could ever hope to receive- the gift of (learning how to play) Netrunner. Yeah, it's because whoever's turn it is, their abilities take precedence. If it helps to think about it this way, the runner uses Femme (or Inside Job or whatever else that bypasses) and skips past the ICE. The corp's "on encounter" ability would take place, but the runner is already skipped past the ICE and is gone, so there's no one around for the ICE to effect. Feel free to shout if you have any more questions!

Aye, we realized that after the cast! But yeah, it would be pretty nutso if it could reveal other grails plus makes sense that someone can hold Excalibur but that it can't do any holding itself, what it being a sword and all -

Idle Thumbs 179: Shadow of Something
Nelsormensch replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
For anyone playing Alien: Isolation on PC, if you want to skip that hideously incongruous AMD video, roll over to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Isolation\DATA\UI\MOVIES and change the extension on "AMD_IDENT.USM." And once you've seen that cool title sequence a few times, you can it turn off by renaming "CA_IDENT.USM" and "FOX_IDENT.USM" too. There's another middleware intro which has the "Warning, auto-save, blah, blah, blah" but I don't think that's a movie file, so I don't think that can be excised. As a bonus, you can do the same with Shadow of Mordor. Hit up: Steam\steamapps\common\ShadowOfMordor\game\interface\videos And give "intro.vib" and "nvidia_splash.vib" a new extension. If you're playing in another language, there are language-specific .vib intros as well. Computer games are cool.
