The KoL podcast is the only podcast I've listened to for more hours than Idle Thumbs. This episode hurts my brain to listen to.

The game I have been intending to make for a while is being made with a bigger budget or team than I could ever hope to have. They even have the same name. I am equal parts annoyed and excited.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if the fighting game in question used 4 directional inputs instead of 8, but that itself would have a lot of implications for something like Street Fighter.

It's a pretty good "feel like an awesome stealthy-man" game, but not a really a stealth game itself. I might just be being semantic though.

Interesting that Kirk pointed out how stealth games are a big thing right now. I think a lot of them have a stealth theme but usually aren't about avoiding conflict in game play. Also, Keith David as Keith David in a video game talking about how Keith David got into voice acting in video games is the first thing anyone has said about Saint's Row 4 that sounds like it'd be an entertaining game.

Imo, 3 became a little bit too self-aware for it's own good. In 2 the story doesn't fly in the face of the game play because it has a certain amount of lets say, "wackiness", but it plays it completely straight and still manages to have a several legitimately well executed emotional moments. In 3 however it just felt like it was slapping me in the face with it's own 4 foot rubber dildo. It had good moments but they were mostly drowned out by bombast and dick jokes. It probably doesn't help that I played 3 with all the DLC because it was 75% off in a Steam sale.

Unless I am mistaken, that's how it is on consoles.

I should clarify: Sean Vanaman was 50 years old and had just claimed the throne.

In my game (which stared in 867 because of the DLC) Sean Vanaman became king of the Kingdom of Tara for a day before dying of 'natural causes'. His son, Sean mac Sean Vanaman took his place. This is a good video game.

Just want to point out that the guys Chris was talking about in sleeping dogs that attack you when you take that picture aren't actually part of that mission if I remember correctly. They're guarding a lockbox. The narrative of them being there to protect copyright on a scenic vista is better though.

I still find it odd that you guys are friends with Zack. He's the one that got me listening to Idle Thumbs back before VGHD existed. Also congrats Jake and Congrats Nick.

Fair enough. It may just be a culture difference but such an abbreviation has never been necessary for me or anyone I know (as far as I'm aware) which is probably why I don't really see the point in it's existence as a term. Just sayin'. It was also before the privilege thing.
