  1. X Rebirth

Huh, and i just bought a Terran Conflict/Albion Prelude sale bundle thinking i'd check the series out. I haven't started playing yet, is it still worth getting invested in the current game? Even just one of those games seems like a huge investment of time.
  2. Nintendo 3DS

Holy shit! Nintendo's putting Summer Carnival '92: Recca up on the 3DS's virtual console! I will totally buy that.
  3. Nintendo 3DS

Aw hell yeah! Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney was just confirmed for North American and European releases in 2014.
  4. In the first few months that i had become aware of the Idle Thumbs, every time i heard the name, i remembered this movie.
  5. Nintendo 3DS

    joooin usss.
  6. Half-Life 3

I would totally play Left 4 Dead with Half-Life zombies.
  7. Nintendo 3DS

Oh hey! The streetpass relay update is live! So now when you're within range of any of the "nintendo zone" locations Nintendo has set up with various electronics stores and fastfood places, your streetpasses will be uploaded there for the next visitor to come and claim, and you'll download any relevant streetpasses from the previous visitor. This should actually crack open streetpass accessibility in a huge way.
  8. I had a problem of unwanted-doubleclicks with my last Razer mouse, but i wasn't able to do anything to fix it, so i don't know if it was exactly an issue like this.
  9. Crytek's websites were hacked, i guess. If you've ever played a latter-day Crysis game, you've been sent an e-mail telling you to change your Origin/EA password. If you have and weren't, you should probably still go change your password.
  10. I wasn't sure about the DPI switching when i got it, but it's implemented really well and i've actually found it helpful in a variety of games. I also just find that it's really comfortable and, after having been through a few mice with really terrible wheels, that the mouse wheel is blessedly precise. The buttons do have a nice solid click too, but i haven't had it long enough to know how those buttons hold up after a lot of use. (Allegedly it is particularly well made, as gaming mice go.) Also a few other small, dumb things that i find appealing, like the absence of any glossy plastic making it very simple to keep clean.
  11. Every Razer product i've ever bought has either exhibited some technical problem or outright broken within a couple of months, and i bought more of their stuff than i really should have before taking the hint. I really can't steer anybody towards their products anymore. My current mouse is this thing. I quite like it, so far. It's been pretty fantastic. (If you're not into the gimmicks, everything's remappable, of course.)
  12. Why So Serious Sam 3?

    Yeah, that's SE.
  13. Why So Serious Sam 3?

So yeah, if you guys are interested, i'm totally up for SSSEHD as a followup for this. Second Encounter's easily the best game in the series.
  14. It seems to have some mechanism for cloud saves. It doesn't seem to use the normal Steam cloud stuff, but apparently does still save games to a cloud. (Allegedly, i haven't had reason to test it myself.)
  15. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Edit: Nevermind, i was misremembering something.
  16. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I think the game actually gets progressively easier as it goes on. (I will say though, i did find the Tomb of the Giants to be a total motherfucker, but everybody seems to struggle with different areas.) As has been said variously, the game isn't actually as balls-crushingly difficult as its reputation implies, it just doesn't suffer fools. Once you figure out how to deal with what it expects out of you as a player, it's totally doable. I would even argue that the game does show a great deal of respect for its players. It does not coddle you, it believes you are an intelligent person. It allows you to make mistakes, be harmed by them, consider them, and then learn from them and course correct. It is an RPG that is not just about systemized progression, but mastery of those systems. You should get that curse fixed, also.
  17. Why So Serious Sam 3?

Who is available for this right now? Lu just told me that he won't be able to make it. Perhaps we should put this off for now.
  18. Why So Serious Sam 3?

    That tells me nothing!
  19. Nintendo 3DS

I really liked Code of Princess. It's marred by some performance troubles, but it's a fun and technical brawler. Also, i've been playing Attack of the Friday Monsters. That is an extremely pretty game, and charming enough that i ended up playing almost the whole thing in one sitting. Starship Damrey and Attack of the Friday Monsters are the easy recommendations in this last batch of Guild games. (Along with Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud from the first.)
  20. Why So Serious Sam 3?

So what time are we doing this, then?
  21. Why So Serious Sam 3?

Nope, it's a paid add-on. It looks like Croteam also did a level pack for SSSEHD. I think i have everything though, i picked up SS3 along with the entire rest of the series for ten bucks during one of the flash sales. Speaking of which, Serious Sam: Double D is a weird, awesome game. Giant frankenstein guns assembled out of chainsaws and machineguns and shotguns, dead enemies piling up into climbable towers, and the ability to summon jump pads on command. (Affixing to any surface and even affecting enemies.)
  22. The Bureau: Xcom declassified

    whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..
  23. Terminator Salvation! It was terrible. There was also a Terminator TV series a couple years ago, but that was actually way better than it had any right to be. I also want to second this, MUDs are a huge blindspot for me.
  24. I'm pretty sure it's tongue-in-cheek to a certain extent, but it still makes the game pretty indefensible, it is wholly in the territory of pandering creepiness.
  25. Capcom sure knows how to endear themselves to fans.
