Porn-y? I have literally no idea what you're talking about or how you could pull what I said into that.

It wasn't a joke though, this thread should probably be locked.

Now, I don't understand the double post, but never mind. I was trying to joke around.

I haven't listened to much of Ben's stuff, but from what I can tell, him and Nick Robinson appear to be the exact same person in terms of speech patterns.

Ooh, ooh! I wonder what this is about.

EDIT: Seems to be XCOM: Enemy Within playthrough. This could be really cool!

Oh man, very excited for this!

I saw someone speculate that they'll create characters with their likenesses and each one will play their own character. I love that idea and it would fit well given the name of the feature, but they'd need more than 4 characters! In any case, I'm excited to see what they came up with.

Yeah, the name and the teaser seems to imply something like that. That might be really cool as well, because roleplaying as specific characters would create a selfishness vs cooperation situation that is not really present in the game if you are playing on your own.

Which episode did Dan say he realized that maybe his path through college was a bit BS? I listen quite frequently but never caught that bit.

In the latest Blue Bombing Dan recounts how, when he was a small child (three or so), the family refrigerator caught fire. This apparently so disturbed him that he became fearful that he himself would catch fire. He was so distressed, his mother took him to the fire department, where it was explained to him that he didn't have old faulty wiring, and he was given one of his first teddy bears, who was a fireman. I found it quite touching. I guess I'm pretty sentimental, really.

I've really enjoyed Exquisite Corps so far. I wish it were more frequent!

I am absolutely loving Department of New Business.

Abby and Ben work really well bouncing off of each with their weirdness.

I wasn't totally sold on episode zero, but Danika Harrod was a real good guest IMO.

I liked the first episode because it was them goofing off and trying to catch each other out and then just going down a weird hole. You are right though the second episode  is much better.

Feel like they've really stepped up their game with the premium content lately. The opening sequence of The Exquisite Corps part 2 was amazing

In principle I like the idea but the first two episodes have actually just been very frustrating for me. I don't necessarily need everyone who's recording something to be a pro player, but when they don't even bother to read basic instructions it does kind of bother me. Hopefully as time goes on and they get more familiar with the game this will be less of an issue.

That's how I've felt watching Steal My Sunshine as the only person on the entire team who seems to realize that you can spray while running is Abby. Watching Vinny try to do that chain chomp level this last episode nearly killed me.

I didn't give a shit that Dan was not taking full advantage of the systems (or whatever it was that people were complaining about) during the Yakuza 0 playthrough, but the "I know I should be overwatching, but I will instead sprint here" stuff in Exquisite Corps is actually making me a bit anxious. I don't mind too much though, because I fully expect them to be obliterated and it is kinda hilarious.

I saw Kerbal Space Program in the Steam download queue during the latest GBE Megadate. I hope that it means that they are making a new season of Project BEAST. I have been consuming a lot of GB content lately, but I need more still.

The newest Exquisite Corps might have been the first time Bad Play has made me actually angry in years of Giant Bomb.

Also, Dan "doesn't get" eggs. I love the Beastcast but it's been so hard to listen to every time Dan decided to do some of his bits.

Sometimes I feel they play bad for show, because it's funnier that way.

At this point I think I only listen to the Bombcast because I like staying abreast on the industry and it's the only podcast I know that cuts so wide a path between news and games they've been playing and emulation stuff and I like when Jeff talks about video game history. If someone can recommend another video game podcast that has the same approach but less of a tendency to reduce all games to "You upgrade your weapons, there's a skill tree. The shooting feels good. It feels tight. The netcode is ok." I'd check it out.

Waypoint is good but more focused on a few topics per episode and I can't really get behind any of the episodes where Austin isn't there, which is disappointingly frequent (if understandable). And then Beastcast has Dan. The only other non-Thumbs video game podcast I've listened to is Crate and Crowbar, which had bad audio and seemed to focus exclusively on PC Games.

I don't listen to any of the GB properties so i can't speak to similarities but the recently launched Polygon Show (hosted by 4 women - Simone DeRochefort - video producer, Allegra Frank - News reporter, Ashley Oh - Social Media Manager, Chelsea Stark - News Editor) has a video game news segment, what they're playing & then listener ?'s. It comes in at ~1 hr weekly so they don't cover that wide a variety of stuff as the large GB eps, but I really like it. I supplement it with the Besties (Justin & Griffin McElroy, Chris Plante, Russ Frushstick) who once a month talk about their favorite games of the previous month.

I actually have listened to and wasn't that into Besties, but I had forgotten all about Polygon Show, which I listened to the first 2-3 episodes of and really did like a lot. It's not really what I'm looking for, I don't think (as you said, it doesn't have the breadth of coverage) but I'll probably give that another shot anyway. Thanks for reminding me!
