BadHat Posted February 14, 2014 Despite looking perhaps a little too familiar, this looks pretty okay. Only thing which gives me pause for thought is that it's being developed by City Interactive, whose most notable games might be the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series. Regardless, this looks at least a few cuts above those games, budget-wise, so maybe it'll be not totally bad. If nothing else, I think it's cool that the impact of Dark Souls has been felt enough that it actually has some imitators now. Well, imitator.
Squid Division Posted February 14, 2014 Looks much more forgiving for Dark Souls, for people that may not want to suffer through Dark Souls, but still get something that's flavored like it. Aesthetically it looks a lot like Darksiders.
Sno Posted February 14, 2014 That boss fight looked very dull, but everything else looked pretty alright.Looks way better than Capcom's Deep Down, another one of the imitative Dark Souls clones on the way.
melmer Posted February 14, 2014 Not really a fan of the warhammer 40,000 armour Kinda on the fence about the gameplay, fast and Arcady and one on one style dark souls combat? Hmm, their will need to be some serious fine tuning if it's going to work Seeing shields being used in this manner is a big plus though
N1njaSquirrel Posted February 14, 2014 another Dark Soul imitator has also emerged, Bound by Flames. I'm not enticed tbh. Also the reveal trailer sounds moronic. There's also a dev write up here: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/02/13/introducing-bound-flame-new-rpg-ps3-ps4/ Lords of fallen looks so much better than this. Sno Posted February 14, 2014 Oh my god, that trailer narration is hilarious.
Entriech Posted February 14, 2014 It might help that you're possessed by a flame demon. Ohhh, Bound by Flames is by Spiders, they who developed Mars: War Logs, and the Testament of Sherlock Holmes. That might explain a lot.
Sno Posted February 14, 2014 He sounds like he's narrating a trailer for an awful summer comedy, the dissonance with the nerd lore coming out of his mouth is incredible.
Snow Posted February 16, 2014 Boss appears to be dancing every time he twirls with his sword. Am I the only one seeing that?
BadHat Posted February 17, 2014 That trailer was hilarious but the game does seem to have one thing going for it: your weapons actually have sheaths.

TheLastBaron Posted February 17, 2014 Now my head is full of ways to sheath an axe. The normal way seems pretty good. http://31.media.tumblr.com/5105232d2016c2e47770a72a9cbd9595/tumblr_migbryZVkm1s6q7jvo1_1280.jpg
N1njaSquirrel Posted February 17, 2014 Huh. I did not know that. A double-headed axe sheath is amusing too, looks like a satchel with a stick poking out.: http://www.baileysonline.com/productImages/image.axd/i.41520/w.359/h.341/x._AZ/xm.0/Sheath%2Bfor%2BDouble%2BBit%2BAxe_R.jpg (sorry for de-railing this thread)
twmac Posted July 9, 2014 So, it has been announced for release on October 31st. City Interactive are pretty terrible but I am still holding out for this one.
