Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Recommended Posts

Fucking pumped. I haven't voted yet, but I know at the very least I want Project Xing to get made. Smash Bros. meets Avatar: The Last Airbender is the coolest damn idea.

How the fuck am I supposed to vote! They all sound so amazing! In a perfect world, all these games would be made. :P

Also I fucking burst out laughing at ghost J.P Lebreton. Someone make a gif of him making a thumbs up, plz.

You vote by going to your library after donating, and then clicking on "Amnesia Fortnight 2014". There you click the check-marks next to the games you want made. That's how I think you do it anyway.
Captain Hastings liked the pitch for Gone Astray so much that I have to vote for it too. This is going to be so much fun.

Multiple pitches referenced Gone Home, at least three feature cat themes. I thought that was interesting.

J.P.'s game concept once again knocks it out of the park. I hope it receives the most votes!

I meant, how am I supposed to vote when I wish every game pitched to be made.

But thanks anyway. :P

So how did everyone else vote? These are the prototypes I ended up voting for:

1. Mnemonic

2. Dear Leader

3. Buried Metropolis

There were probably 6 other games that almost made the cut for me.

I went Dear Leader, Project XIng and Buried Metropolis, but there are a ton of other ones I'd love to see.

Right now I have Gone Astray, Mnemonic, and Eras of Adventure, but that last one might change.  I really love the idea of Buried Metropolis but I wouldn't get much out of it because the only access point I ever use is my own.  I might end up picking it anyway.

I also picked the Cupid game from the Pen Ward ones.

For Pendleton Ward, I picked Little Pink Best Buds because it had me laughing out loud and I love the idea of Nintendogs where the dogs are fighting to be your friend.

3 votes isn't enough!

I ended up going with Buried Metropolis, Eras of Adventure, and Dear Leader. I chose Little Pink Best Buds as my Pendleton Ward game.

I just read the PDF for Mnemonic and now I'm wishing I had voted for it.

So far I voted for:

1) Dear Leader

2) What Could Go Wrong

3) ExtraTerrarium

P) Damnit Jerry.

The last two might change again. I have trouble deciding between Pendleton's "Damnit Jerry" and "Little Pink Best Buds". I think the former would make a better prototype, the latter a better fully fleshed out game. I do kinda want to have a playable and enjoyable prototype at the end, and I don't think LPBB would turn into one...hm...

for the pen ward thing I chose:
Cupid

For DF stuff I checked:

Buried Metropolis
Parabolic
And for my third I can't decide between Gnome War, Mnemonic, and Steed!

They should add micro-transactions for more votes!

Just kidding, but not really because right now i would pay to not have to make this decision.

EDIT: Voted for, the Gnome wars have been.

1. Dear Leader - Hits all of my sweet spots. Dystopia, cold war-era intrigue, socialist realist art. Hope it wins.

2. Mnemonic - A sucker for noir and it has the potential to be the game Remember Me should have been.

3. Headlander - Everything Lee Petty has done has been fantastic (and fun!) and this looks to be no exception.

P. Cupid - But I wasn't especially drawn to any of them. Would have rather been able to pick another Double Fine pitch. Maybe Ether or Buried Metropolis.

Oh hey, turns I did vote for Mnemonic. Sweet.

EDIT: Please vote for Project XIng people! I will be heartbroken if this doesn't happen.

So how did everyone else vote?

By going into your library and clicking on 'Amnesia Fortnight 2014', obviously! There are checkmarks, and everything. Come one, sclpls, it's easy!

:wtf:

Am I the only person who doesn't care to vote? Even last time I mainly signed up to watch the documentaries because I like to see the process of the games being made (and the drama of DF's various people frictioning up against each other*).

Part of me doesn't care which games get made. Another part doesn't want to watch the pitches in case I see something awesome and it's not selected.

* Or is that just in my slash fanfiction?

I know right? It concerns me that these questions are coming from democratic countries.

I voted for little pink dudes becase it looked like the one he wants to make and it seems achievable;

Dear Leader because I'd love to see Double Fine's take on a dictatorial scenario;

Extraterrarium because I have wanted a game like this for a while and I love the weird art-style;

Gone Astray because Capt. Hastings was disappointed that she couldn't vote for it twice if she upped her pledge (I didn't want to suggest multiple accounts).

I like investing in specific pitches because it gives me something to root for.

Yeah, you should really just vote. It's all for fun, anyways. And if you like a pitch that pitch needs help getting voted the best, y'know.

I voted for Dear Leader, Derelict and Buried Metropolis.

I really, really hope Dear Leader gets made, not only because it's a great idea and looks fun, simple and do-able in the timeframe available, but also because it would be nice to have some female project leads in the documentary this time around.
