Roderick Posted April 24, 2013 May I congratulate you on your fine Power Balltm? Those things are great. I lost the red string that came with mine though, so getting it up and running is a hassle.
Lu Posted April 24, 2013 Why thank you! I love it, as it eliminated pretty much all my hand cramp problems. Pro-tip: Learn how to get it going with your (idle) thumb. I lost the string too, until I found it again weeks later, but by then I mastered the thumb flick.
Roderick Posted April 24, 2013 I got it going by grinding it to speed vertically against a door. Hardly ideal! I don't think my thumbs have the muscular capacity, the fibrous nature, if you will, to start The Gyrations.
Lu Posted April 24, 2013 I started off by using the side of my hand, since you have more skin to work with. Like you're judo chopping your powerball, except you're slicing bread, once. It's really all about getting a feel for the slower gyrations and speeding it up from there. I usually close my eyes, feel the subtle catching of the gyro and then I go faster and faster, all the while holding it firmly, making that gyro do its thing. Roderick Posted April 24, 2013 We're describing porno at this point.
Lu Posted April 24, 2013 Shhh, don't be afraid. We're already brothers-in-balls.
melmer Posted April 24, 2013 i'm gonna fish my ball out tonight! i think i could get it going just be starting with really slow rotations and building up (this statement may be bullshit) Edit: this statement is indeed complete and utter bullshit my arm now hurts
TheLastBaron Posted April 24, 2013 I have those same headphones, I also like the thing that comes with them to attach to your desk to hang them from.
elmuerte Posted April 24, 2013 Your primary screen looks like a good one.
Lu Posted April 24, 2013 It's a 24" 120Hz display thing by Benq. It's pretty sweet, but its color reproduction has proven to be disappointing. It's not bad once you've twiddled with the settings, but definitely the biggest weak spot (out of the box color settings are atrocious). Its response time and refresh rate are great though; no ghosting, or none that I've seen.
Armchair General Posted April 24, 2013 Is that a Saitek?
toblix Posted April 24, 2013 I like that the arrow has a big dot to indicate where it starts. Nice job!
Armchair General Posted April 24, 2013 Arrows should have a clear start, a middle and an end, or point, as it's sometimes known. It's not like I fucked it up and couldn't bothered to unbugger it or anything.
TheLastBaron Posted April 25, 2013 That made me laugh out loud, then it made me pause and wait for it again, and then it made me laugh out loud again.
Lu Posted April 25, 2013 Andy underestimates my anus, once again. Alternatively: lmao
elmuerte Posted April 25, 2013 On second thought, that monitor doesn't look that good. It's suffering from ghosting a lot.
Zeusthecat Posted May 17, 2013 Okay guys, here's my setup. When we bought our house, I converted my second story loft into my gaming/home theater dungeon and squeezed everything I could into it. The tv is a 58" plasma and I'm running 7.1 surround sound. Not pictured is my PS3 in the bedroom, the Wii downstairs, a couple more Super Nintendos, another NES (the little white box is a Yobo Nintendo that plays all the NES cartridges and doesn't have a worn out 72 pin), and a Virtual Boy. I'm so sorry for the barrage of pictures but this is my pride and joy and I hope people here enjoy the collection. Sorry if it's a little messy but at least most of it is in alphabetical order. Oh and I built a computer a couple years ago and it has a GTX 580 in it so it can run most games with pretty decent settings.
TychoCelchuuu Posted May 17, 2013 come on, if you're not going to take the thread seriously don't even bother to post, i mean i dont even see any gaming stuff in those pictures (except that copy of halo 4)
tegan Posted May 17, 2013 I can't fault someone who owns that many gameboys, but you have some terrible taste in movies.
Roderick Posted May 17, 2013 The photo with the movies is a little blurry, but I think those are all porn parodies.
Zeusthecat Posted May 17, 2013 Yeah, I don't really watch too many movies cause I'm too busy playing video games. The vast majority of those are watched by my wife and daughter.
Zeusthecat Posted May 17, 2013 Also, Tegan, I'm curious which of those movies you were able to make out from the picture and which ones you think are terrible. I was looking back at the picture and If you're mostly referring to the movies on the shelf above my N64 and Super Nintendo games then yes, over half of those are terrible and we bought on impulse because they were like $2 on black friday (ugh, I hated the Transporter and Underworld movies). But you might also notice The Truman Show on that shelf, one of the greatest movies of all time!
tegan Posted May 17, 2013 I see Independence Day; Signs; comedy movies featuring Adam Sandler, Dane Cook, and Will Ferrel; Underworld; two copies of 300 (DVD and HD-DVD?)... On the other hand, I see Shaun of the Dead and both Up and Toy Story 3 on Blu-Ray. ...I used to work in a video store. I can recognize movies by their spines.
