BigJKO Posted April 17, 2012 Man, the game is miles from being out and people keep producing awesome things for his little fictional computer. (Pac-Man)
toblix Posted August 19, 2013 Unluckily for all the people who made cool programs for the CPU, the project has been canceled, the news of which seem to have been announced as a side-note in a TF2 livestream, which is weird, and I would assume a lot of people feel let down, especially if they were still working on something. Apparently others are picking up the project, though only in concept, as they won't be using any of the existing work. The project always seemed a bit too crazy for it to be real – I guess working on smaller projects seems a lot more tempting than trying to craft a huge fun MMO around a fictional CPU. Chris Posted August 20, 2013 I think the problem is actually that working on the crazily ambitious project is the tempting option, because when it exists only as a fantasy it is alluring and important and grand in scope. I suspect it became an overwhelming and unsustainable development, and at a certain point it was clear that it wasn't actually likely to release in any form that resembled the initial intention.
