Salacious Snake Posted March 28, 2011 Bennett Foddy's new game, GIRP, has hit the scene: http://www.foddy.net/2011/03/girp/ Climb a rock! Beat my personal best of 15.2 meters! Watch I made about QWOP the other day!GIRP is not as infuriating as QWOP, but there are similar principles at work.
keibo Posted March 28, 2011 I really want to try it but it seems like there's a massive influx of people hitting the web site or something, slowing it down loads Edit: Can't seem to access the site properly through chrome, Internet explorer gets to the page but it loads with errors
gdf Posted March 28, 2011 I'm currently attempting to write an essay that's due tomorrow. This game has come at a horrible time
Roderick Posted March 28, 2011 0.0 meters, I can't even climb a singly rung.
Armchair General Posted March 28, 2011 16.9mts. That's a damn sight easier than QWOP.
subbes Posted March 28, 2011 0.0 meters, I can't even climb a singly rung. Ditto.
CaptainFish Posted March 29, 2011 I find this a lot easier to understand than QWOP. Getting your body swinging is key to making long grabs.
Forbin Posted March 29, 2011 hmm, it's not working on my MBP.
CaptainFish Posted March 29, 2011 dang I made it to 23.9. I keep losing when I click outside the application. I press the key once and it stays held, and then I press again and fall : (.
Lu Posted March 29, 2011 I got to 9.8, but then I really had to go to the bathroom.
Foil1212 Posted March 29, 2011 I like this game. It's way easier to get a hold of the mechanics than qwop, and I like how it makes me feel like I have to stretch to grab on to things. Stretching my fingers across the keyboard really immerses me into the rock climbing aspect of the game.
toblix Posted March 29, 2011 This is brilliant in a profound way. The gameplay makes more sense than QWOP. My current best is 14,2m
Scrobbs Posted March 29, 2011 Loads easier than QWOP. 18.0 so far. Traversing is dead difficult with no feet. Would make life easier if you could grab 1 ring with 2 hands.
monkeyarmada Posted March 29, 2011 I've done a fair amount of sport climbing and this game really does bring across the problem solving aspect of it, brilliant! I love that you are also performing some keyboard gymnastics with your fingers, aping the dude climbing with his crazy arms and legs.
Scrobbs Posted March 29, 2011 That bird is a real pain in the arse though.
elmuerte Posted March 29, 2011 yeah... damn puffins
Scrobbs Posted March 29, 2011 20.5m Managed to swap hands on one ring somehow. Needed to do it again. I fell.
Nappi Posted March 29, 2011 Far more enjoyable than QWOP. This one's missing a story though. 22.9 meters. For additional frustration ctrl and shift don't work on OS X version of Firefox, so that I can only use one hand for the key presses.
Nachimir Posted March 30, 2011 Bloody hell Scrobbs Keep getting stuck around 18m, but this is really excellent.
Nachimir Posted March 30, 2011 I don't find the bird too bad, just some spans. (Argh 35.7)
n0wak Posted March 30, 2011 Far more enjoyable than QWOP. This one's missing a story though.22.9 meters. For additional frustration ctrl and shift don't work on OS X version of Firefox, so that I can only use one hand for the key presses. Huh. See, I thought I was missing something
