Jayel Posted December 29, 2013 I recently got a Windows 8 tablet and noticed that none of the DOS games I got on GOG worked (missing mouse->failure to launch. windib mode->mouse still erratic). I decided the solve the problem myself and added touch support to SDL. Might be helpful to all 2 of you who actually have a Windows 8 tablet! Edit: Now with much more robust ScummVM support! (Notice the 1-to-1 cursor mapping) The zip file binaries & instructions here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7hdpqzi9qhs15aa/3E7wqVRJ5i
Ucantalas Posted December 30, 2013 That's pretty cool! Still looks a bit cumbersome to use, but then I'm not a fan of touchscreen gaming in general.
Thrik Posted January 2, 2014 Just published an interview with a senior level artist over at Techland (Call of Juarez, Dead Island). Pretty insightful stuff for anyone into that whole thing: http://www.mapcore.org/page/features/_/interviews/interview-with-mateusz-seir-piaskiewi-r33

TychoCelchuuu Posted January 2, 2014 This shit's taking off! I got retweeted thanks to the official Gunpoint twitter account and I've already had one developer contact me with a review code. Score 1 for objectivity! Fuck you, opinions! You're just opinions, anyways!
elmuerte Posted January 2, 2014 I don't get the scoring, on what is it based?

Twig Posted January 2, 2014 Damnit Tycho! I wanted to do that. ): How dare you have more motivation to follow through on your dreams of glory than I do. Anyway it's great. NICE.
TychoCelchuuu Posted January 2, 2014 I don't get the scoring, on what is it based? From the FAQ:To assign a score to a game, we objectively determine which number, on a scale from one to ten, best represents the game’s quality. This number takes into consideration all of the relevant information about the game, including the game’s graphics and its story.
elmuerte Posted January 2, 2014 but isn't that subjective?
TychoCelchuuu Posted January 2, 2014 No, it would be an opinion if the number were subjectively determined. Our numbers are objectively determined.
JonCole Posted January 2, 2014 He uses a complex formula (math) to determine the number. Math is objective.

JonCole Posted January 3, 2014 Oh, wait, I figured it out. http://kotaku.com/finally-an-objective-game-review-site-1493491966 Umm, hilarious. Hilarious because you got news blog slammed, but also because the Kotaku commenters actually seem to think the site is a serious thing. I think that's the highest praise you can get. TychoCelchuuu Posted January 3, 2014 This is actually the second time I've been on Kotaku's front page. This time I'm glad I have a Google Adsense banner somewhere on the thing that got linked...
