Does anybody recommend "My Brother, My Brother and Me" to someone who just caught up on the Adventure Zone and loves it?

I do. I think it's a pretty easy transition. Similar humor, different format.

I really dislike FatT. the first episode was 3 hours of them piddling around asking if they can see each others cursors and generally being dull af. i do really recommend the glass cannon podcast for some excellent and riveting dnd. even though it's path finder

I like Friends at the Table a lot, but the early episodes have so much bloat. I'm sure no one has time to do this, but a recut of the first season that cuts out explaining basic roleplaying mechanics and non-relevant joking would be a huge booster to my experience.

I belive they just put out two recap episodes of FATT for the first season to catch people up with the newest seasons so you may want to check those out.

I mean, fair enough regarding FatT, It's just going to the bottom of my list until i've caught up with Glass Cannon, My Dad wrote a porno and Campaign (which is another gread Star Wars DnD pod). Maybe I'll jump back in on it, but it's just hard when there's better stuff out there. :P

Any comedy podcast recommendations?

If you haven't listened to the exceptional 6 music's Adam and Joe podcast, which in my honest opinion is the best podcast ever, I strongly reccommend that. It's stopped now, but there's some excellent recaps of the whole show on the A&J podcast stream, and there are a couple of torrents of the complete set which are really worth hunting, becuase they are really, really funny.

I also reccommend Radio X's Chris Moyles Podcast, which is really funny, Moyles is a lot calmer than he used to be, and it's really lovely to listen to a professional do what he loves doing and does it really well.

Finally, Richard Herring's Leicster Square Theatre podcast is a great comedy show where he interviews other comedians live at Leicster Square. Particular highlights are Ross Noble, Stephen Fry and Limmy.

Oh also, whilst i'm at it, Answer Me This is a pretty funny british question show with some funny hosts. Well worth a listen.

Just finished off listening to Mabel, which was very enjoyable. It's presented as voicemails left to the titular character, from the caretaker for her grandmother. Old house, inexplicable happenings, family secrets. Good times!

I had a listen to Stuart Goldsmith's "Comedian's Comedian" podcast yesterday night, the one with Adam Buxton, and it was truly excellent. Shock Video got a mention! Man, I had completely forgotten about that. In the immortal words of Charlie Brooker, it was "an onanists nightmare"

FYI, Vanaman popped up on the most recent episode of The Ringer's video game podcast, which is hosted on their Channel 33 feed.

Some of these are old episodes cause I don't come to the forums much also maybe i mentioned some of these before.

Gimlet's new show Crimetown is pretty good, really enjoying hearing about the mobsters in 70's Providence, RI

Reply All's recent Hello? episode was wonderful, but I don't know if it is for everyone. They open the phone line for 48 hours straight and it is 2 hours of them struggling with this idea and also some of the people they talk to

I recently checked up on WTF and I would recommend his interviews with Natasha Leggero, David Simon, and especially the one with Terry Gross. He also has one with Neil Strauss which was very interesting, since Strauss has left the PUA stuff and has bad feelings about it, and Maron kind of hits him kind of hard on the topic. Neil was pretty open and honest and I kinda dig hearing growth and change in a person from that person's POV. He also had Goldblum on but it was just OK.

The Tim Ferri's Show has an interview with Robert Rodriguez that was really interesting, covering his life, how he started making movies, and where inspiration and such comes from for him. It is one of the earlier episodes.

If you are of the entrepreneurial mindset but want to/currently run an honest, small business, I would recommend The Fizzle Show - a group of smart people who have the kind of fun casualness of the thumbs, sort of. good advice but not boring.

Two Video game podcasts I don't hear anyone talk about here are Unconsoleable (mostly about mobile games) and Spawn on Me. I dont get to them much (too many pods) but they are good

The Bugle is back. And on a schedule so far.

Without John Oliver, instead different hosts and Andy. The first few episodes I really really liked, some fantastic stuff. I miss John, but the other hosts are great so far, the chemistry is still there, some of the hosts even have a stand up history with Andy as well. I'm happy.

If you enjoyed it before, give it a listen!

Checked the last few pages and didn't see it, and it's my all-time favorite (non-thumbs) podcast, so here's Knifepoint Horror:

http://knifepointhorror.libsyn.com/

It's a horror fiction podcast set up like first person accounts of terrible experiences, but is comfortable enough to be way more low key than basically all the other horror podcasts I've listened to. No sharp musical cues for scary stuff, or dumb accents.  Just really, really good stories.

Just thought I would heartily second this recommendation. I believe the author/narrator/host of this podcast said he was going to stop making these a while ago, but a new episode* just went up a day or two ago, so perhaps it's not been entirely forgotten.

Either way, it's worth going back through the old episodes if (like me) you have an affinity for ghost stories and weird fiction. The tales themselves aren't entirely free from conventional horror tropes - sometimes there are vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc - but they are highly atmospheric, and the author has a great talent for creating a series of memorable, haunting, original images. I could point to a handful of moments in some of the old episodes which I still think about all the time, even though it must be a year or more since I first heard them. I don't think I've ever heard a podcast quite like it.

I've also read some of the author's self-published fiction, which is equally idiosyncratic but highly absorbing. Song of the Living Dead and A Listing of the Holdings of the National Museum of Romance are well worth a look if you like the podcast - IIRC I think I got the ebook versions from Amazon, hard copies may be out of print.

* - incidentally the new one, unlike most of the others, is told using several different voice actors instead of just the one voice. I'm not sure I like this approach as much, but it's worth your attention regardless.

I am in the market for a new standup comedy podcast. I have ditched Put Your Hands Together because they have repeatedly messed up editing and will cut out entire sets, I find this super annoying. I think I've also tired of the hosts. I had similar host fatigue with 2 Dope Queens. I think I would like a show that is just new and different standup every week without long host monologues if that's possible? I any case any recommendations?

Is anyone else interested in the MBMBAM TV show? I love the stuff they've done on YouTube (namely Griffin's stuff) and I know it won't be anything like that, but I feel like it could work for them. I know this sounds weird but I really feel like they deserve to be famous. They're so talented, funny and genuine. I've listened to their back catalogue the entire way through maybe 3 times now so I practically feel like I know them.

I know this isn't strictly podcasts but it's podcast adjacent.

I wouldn't wish fame on them because I suspect being famous is kind of awful, but I dunno if a show on Seeso is going to expose them to that many new people anyway. I am curious as to how My Brother, My Brother and Me would translate to a TV format but mostly skeptical that it can be done well. Radio shows (or podcasts) crossing over into TV shows almost always feel redundant and purposeless to me.

I'm going to subscribe to seeso next month to watch it, for sure. for well documented history of my love of those boys, please see my McElroy Family of Products thread, right here in our own Idle Banter.

As a recent McElroy convert (THANKS JENNA) I'm all for their show. I dunno what it'll be like but I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it. Seems like a safe bet.

You're probably right Patrick. I imagine it's pretty awful. But I do want them to be successful. I can't really imagine what they're gonna do with it either. I don't really know why I'm talking about it coz I can't watch it and I probably will never be able to because I live outside the States and can't subscribe to Seeso. If I could I'd do it just to watch those good good goof boys.

I think they said there'd be an episode on YouTube for free so there's that at least...

A gaming podcast I've been listening to for a while now is the 4 Player Podcast.

It's not by people in the industry, just a group of friends but they have good discussions on a lot of topics, both PC and console games. They usually swap in their producer when one of them can't make it and I'm not a fan of him on the show, but other than that it's probably my favourite gaming podcast at the moment.

I've been enjoying podcasts that explore media entry by entry lately. Specifically two called Morph Club and Talking Simpsons. Morph Club is Animorphs and TS is obviously about the Sampsons.

In both cases the hosts just do a deep dive on each book/episode as they make their way through. I enjoy both a lot as a way to revisit an old series and hear critical conversation about them.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for podcasts that cover other media in a similar way?
