:buyme:Streets of Fury

By: Cyrille Lagarigue & Jordi Asensio

Available: Demo is free, full game is 240 MsPoints

Synopsis: A Fatal Fury burrito with Guardian Heroes meat drenched in a Street of Rage dressing; the whole thing being wrapped in a deep fried corny scenario in which the uprising of french suburban gangs forces the president to call the best LA gangs members to the rescue.

It's a ton of fun in coop (4 player in local) and pretty awesome too in single. Plus FMV sprites FTW!

Gets bonus points for being developed by a coworker and friend.:mock:

:buyme:Machinarium

By: Amanita Design

Available: Demo is free, full game is about $17

Synopsis: Lovely, hand drawn point and click adventure game featuring adorable robots. By the same guys who did the Samorost games, so the art is excellent, and none of the puzzles are too taxing. Has a nicely obscured hint/walkthrough system that requires you to jump through too big a hoop to rely on it constantly, but allows you to get past anything that really stumps you.

:buyme:Fatale

By: Tale of Tales

Available: For Mac and PC, for $7, downloaded from the Tale of Tales homepages

Synopsis: Arguably not a game per se, this is sold as an "Interactive Vignette" - somewhere between a theatre piece, a meditation, the easiest collect-em-up you have ever played and an unusually demanding screensaver. Playing (possibly) as John the Baptist, experience your own execution and then explore the frozen moment before dawn in the company of Salome, Herodias and your executioner. Character designs are by Takayoshi Sato, quondam Team Silent member.

(nb. Features some nudity, inasmuch as pixels can be naked. And some decapitation)

:buyme: Digital: A Love Story

By: Christine Sarah Love

Available: Free download (windows, mac, & linux)

Synopsis: A mystery/romance set in the days of BBSes. More an interactive story told through a BBS/retro OS interface than much of a game, but if you have even one iota of nostalgia for the days of BBSes, this is utterly amazing.

:buyme: AI War: Fleet Command

By: Arcen Games

Available: $19.99 from their website as well as various online software stores. Windows only at the moment, though it will be ported to OS X this summer and will be made more Wine compatible as a result (hopefully).

Synopsis: Basically it is a real time strategy game/tower defense game that was designed from the ground up to be co-operative play oriented. There is no option for player-versus-player at all. It's you (or possible you and up to seven friends) against a couple AIs that control most of the galaxy. Also has a strong emphasis on exploration, both in the sense of scouting enemy held planets for rare resources to capture, and with the fact that you can play the game for over a hundred hours and still see completely new unit types. Currently has a $9.99 expansion called The Zenith Remnant which adds even more ship types to find and use, as well as new AI types to fight against. More expansions will be on the way (as well as free content included in patches, so even if you don't buy the expansions you still get more goodies to play with every couple months or so.)
