MrHoatzin Posted October 2, 2011 Sure!(Little League is 16 year old girls, right?) Jeez, what is the age of consent where you're from? Where was it—Azerbaijan or something?
Scrobbs Posted October 2, 2011 Yeh, whichever I get will most likely be laid up for winter. Now is the time to buy though for summer! (Plus those clear cold sunny winter days).

Nachimir Posted October 2, 2011 Jeez, what is the age of consent where you're from? Where was it—Azerbaijan or something? The age of consent is 16 in the UK; until a decade ago it was 18 if you were gay though. Yeh, whichever I get will most likely be laid up for winter. Now is the time to buy though for summer! (Plus those clear cold sunny winter days). The blue one looks way nicer Edit: I think the carbon dashboard and Minilite wheels on the red one look a bit wank. It's like… trying to put an ultra-modern dash on something that isn't and pairing it with classic retro wheels. Whoever built the blue one has way more aesthetic sense, and a bigger engine to boot. Rollcage, manifold, wheels, bodywork, dash and seats are all better looking and better matched on that one.
Scrobbs Posted October 2, 2011 Indeed. The engine is more modern (Vauxhall engines are pretty bombproof if looked after) plus that blue with the white leather and the TSW rims, it looks so so good. Might need to swap exhaust out for a quieter one though I do like the bits of detailing on the red one, black headlamps and wingmirrors... But yeh. Might be underpowered for my tastes. Am meeting a local owner tomorrow, hopefully he will be able to clue me in a little better.
Thompson Posted October 2, 2011 The age of consent is 16 nearly everywhere, although 18 is also common. In Australia it's a little complex with it being 12 through 18, depending on the age of the 2 people involved and depending on the state, in Victoria it is thus: "It is an offence in Victoria to sexually penetrate a person under the age of 16. However it is a defence if the younger party was aged 12 years or older and the offender was not more than 2 years older than the younger person, or they were married. Further it is an offence for a person to sexually penetrate a person under the age of 18 if that person is under the care of the offender (guardian, teacher etc). A person under the age of 18 is not allowed to work as a prostitute nor to be in a brothel." In short, age of consent laws be crazy.

In the US you summarily see "sexting" teenagers prosecuted under kiddy porn laws and permanently branded as "child sex offenders" for doing nothing that would objectively merit that degree of freakout on the authorities' part... ThunderPeel2001 Posted October 2, 2011 Yeah, that Australian law makes a lot of sense. You're hardly a threat to society if you're attracted to a 14 year old... and you're 14 yourself.

No, no, see that's where it starts. Next you know they're painting dolls and giving out rides on ponies at childrens birthday parties. Or so the American justice system would have you believe. Hermie Posted October 2, 2011 The law is the same in Norway and (I believe) in other Scandinavian countries, with the two year grace period. In fact, interesting statistic; the average debut age in Norway is 18 for boys, 16 for girls.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted October 3, 2011 "debut age"?
MrHoatzin Posted October 3, 2011 "debut age"? I am guessing it is some sort of quaint euphemism.
Tanukitsune Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) I'm back from the Unemployment Office and, like I expected, I don't get any money because the shop is self employed. This is important: I know it's illegal to work while being registered as unemployed, but... Who is the one who gets in trouble if caught? The person working or the person who hired you? When I work in my father's shop, I'm in the back and nobody would know I'm there, but now they want me to work frontline in the shop they want to open? That's insane! Also, I just found out that the people who are repairing my PC might take 2-3 weeks to repair it.... EDIT: I'm really confused about the legality of my situation, some say it's OK since I'm not getting any money from the Goverment and I'm only working partial hours, some say my boss will get fined, some say I will... Hermie Posted October 3, 2011 Oh, did I English wrong? Isn't "sexual debut" a thing?
Nachimir Posted October 3, 2011 "First time" is probably the most common term. The word debut specifically relates to a first public performance of something. Heh

Scrobbs Posted October 3, 2011 Oh, did I English wrong? Isn't "sexual debut" a thing? We all understood it. I quite liked the turn of phrase, if I'm honest.
Roderick Posted October 3, 2011 So now she's talking to me normally, almost like nothing happened. what. Here's a thing that has helped me out tons in the last few years whenever something happens that is the typical, baffling stuff that happens in life. Just play this in your head and you can deal with anything:
