Nick Posted November 22, 2008 For no reason at all I was looking at my Master System games and noticed that the box for Space Harrier boasts 'The Two-Mega Cartridge' which none of my other games do. Also the description on the back is genius. Far away, there was a special land. Where peaceful dragons lived peaceful lives. Until the attack. Vicious creatures seeking final extinction for the dragons. You are their last hope. You are Space Harrier.
twmac Posted November 22, 2008 Have you heard anything about the new SEGA genesis collection coming out on PS3 and X360? Sure it is just a collection of ROMs but they look like they have some nice addtions like box art and alternative versions of stuff (I think they are going to include the arcade version of Altered Beast as well as the Megadrive version)
Ben X Posted November 22, 2008 This was the only real mention of two-mega cartridges I could find with a quick google, but no explanation as to what exactly 'two-mega' involves. Double the storage size of a mega cartridge?
ThunderPeel2001 Posted November 24, 2008 I wanna save the dragons... I am Space Harrier! (Wow, games really were for an incredibly niche/sf audience back then, weren't they?) As for "two-mega", could that be 2 Megabit? (As in the size of the cartridge?)
Wrestlevania Posted November 28, 2008 As for "two-mega", could that be 2 Megabit? (As in the size of the cartridge?) Yes, it was--which equates to a whopping 256kb. I have fond memories of harriering my spaces on the Master System. It was my very first home console, and what a wonderful piece of kit it was...
ThunderPeel2001 Posted November 28, 2008 Wow, that whole megabit/megabyte thing was such a con! I can't believe the difference.
